in new york with the latest. (karin) jeff sessions / attorney general: the suspect is in the custody of the f.b.i.federal authorities announcing the arrest of a 56-year-old florida resident, cesar sayoc, in connection with a rash of suspected explosive devices discovered across the country this week.chris wray / fbi director: our investigation ranged from new york to delaware to maryland to the district of columbia to florida to california and as it always does the f.b.i. responded with every resource we've got.authorities say sayoc has a criminal history, including a, "threat to bomb" arrest in 2002. none of the suspicious packages discovered this week detonated but the intended recipients include prominent democrats, like president obama and hillary clinton and president trump critics, like robert de niro and george soros.president donald trump: these terrorizing acts are despicable.at the white house today, president trump applauded law enforcement and said the perpetrators would be brought to justice. president donald trump: i've instructed authorities to spare no resource or expense in finding those responsible, and bringing them to swift and certain justice.in new york, i'm karin caifa (karin)

(dant)catherine/grant..the yellow tape is still roping off the area here along rollins road in burlingame.the post office has been closed since the discovery of the suspicious package this morning. (dant)workers here at the post office were forced to evacuate from the building and patiently wait in the parking lot--even after the package was removed. u.s. postal police inspectors and other investigators have been on the scene all day today including the san francisco office of the fbi having their explosive techs on scene after receiving reports. the top priority has been safety. as you mentioned the package that was intercepte od ffice was addressed to billionaire and democratic fundraiser tom steyer who has been a harsh critic of president trump. steyer has been going as far as calling for the president to be impeached. .. (dant)one of the big questions for investigators is if there are anymore of these packages out there. again, safety has been the highest priority.

(catherine) the suspicious package was taken from burlingame to a remote site at s-f-o..(grant)kron 4's dan kerman is at the san francisco police department's sfo firing range with that part of the story... dan (dan) the f.b.i. arrived at the san francisco police department's firing range at sfo around noon with the suspicious package which is seen here sitting on the ground. the firing range was chosen due to its close proximity to burlingame and due to its isolated location.by 115, the fbi says the device was made safe... and by 145, it was loaded back onto to an fbi vehicle, and a carvan of officers left the firing range... the package will now go to the fbi lab in quantico for forensic testing (dan)

tom steyer - he just spoke with our affiliate cnn... he is blaming president trump for creating a charged environment where someone might be compeled to send these suspicous packages to vocal critics of mr. trump... . listen in: tom steyer, received suspicious package in mail (take vo) and there is this.... take a look at this... kron four news has obtained a copy of an advertisement defending democracy... - through a spokesperson, steyer and two groups he works with... including need to impeach... has decided to release the ad tonight in light of the reported package sent to him... the ad was put togehter to counter - critisim against he and other democrats, whom steyer says have been called an angry mob... the ad shows quote that we are not going to bck down from our attempts to protect democracy.in a statement sent to kron four news... steyer had this to say about the reported device sent to him... quote: we are seeing a systematic attack on our democracy and our rule of lae that extends much further than just one isolated terrorist in florida, end quote. (catherine) a post office in south sacramento is where another suspicious package was intercepted today... this one addressed to california's u.s. senator kamala harris... the f-b-i, sheriff's deputies, postal inspectors...have all been at that sacramento post office ....in the south parkway neighborhood... a worker noticed this morning that a package looked like the others that are part of a national investigation.

the facility was evacuated and closed... this package- addressed to senator kamala harris... deputies were going door to door in the neighborhood, telling people to stay inside. and a robot was used to go in and out of the postal facility. there were no injuries. this afternoon in a news briefing - the f-b-i talked about what happened.. we're taking you on an unusual journey...featuring a plane and two bear cubs.(grant) two bear rehabilitation centers ... one in lake tahoe and the other in southern california ... wanted to swap some of their young bears. our ken wayne is live in the studio with how he was able to help.(ken) they put out a call for a

volunteer pilot to fly the bears to their new homes. as it turned out... i got the job.(pkg) 03 i might have to take my seats out. hi are you denise? hi. hi, i'm ken. nice to see you. hi, i'm carole. hi. 08 denise upton and her crew met me and my wife carole at the south lake tahoe airport. denise is the animal care director at lake tahoe wildlire care and was here to hand over two bear cubs that i was going to fly to southern california.cg: :20denise upton/lake tahoe wildlife care 2442 they were too small to be hibernated throughout the winter so we thought we would send them down south where they could feed them all winter and get them nice and fat for release. 2451more on the bears in a moment... but first... we needed to load them up.the bears are in this nearly indestructable steel crate.all the seats had to be removed from the plane before we could fit it in... and it's heavy even without the bears. but after some finagling... we finally did it.within minutes we're airborne... turning south and heading to san diego county.smell them? whew, ooh. we eventually level off at 11,500 feet... cruising down the spine of the sierra.. the bears apparently resting in their cage.they were found last summer after their mother was killed after being hit by a car in mariposa county.the animals were already in dire

condition... weighing less than ten pounds each.2549 it's possible they were so small because their mother was small. there were multiple cubs. they were kind of on the edge of the fire area. she might have had a hard time getting food, cuz usually this time of year those cubs should have been 30, 40 pounds. 2604 after being picked up by fish and wildlife and taken in by the tahoe rescue team... they got a check up.the ticks and burrs that covered their bodies were removed and they were given much needed nutrition.these rescue bears are named for where they were found.2732 we kind of called mary and posa. cuz there were two of them we thought we'd split the difference. 2742soon we were passing hetch hetchy reservoir near yosemite.... and off in the distance we could see el capitan and half dome.a strong head wind slowed our progress... and the cubs started to make noises carole and i never heard before... angry, baby bear cries.17 it's ok. it's alright. while the cubs fidgeted we pressed on. finally... four hours after we took off... ramona airport came into view... and we turned into the pattern and touched down on a hot and sunny afternoon.we met up with matt anderson and his crew from the fund for animals wildlife center.again... the seats had to be removed to get the cubs' crate out of the plane.45 those are heavy bears! a short drive from the airport and we were at the rehab facility... where we finally got our first good look at the cubs as they entered their new... albeit temporary home. as the cubs adjust to their new surroundings... the folks back at lake tahoe adjust to life without them.2926 little cubs are very endearing and they did, they missed them but we knew it was the best thing for them and that's what we always try to do: is what's best for the animals. 2937the

"my bocho. that's what i call my beetle."surrounded by concrete. cars. and -- cable spools. massive spools. on the right. then --marie cervantez/driver: "a loud noise."one came loose. you hear it in her dash cam video. marie cervantez/driver: " noticed it hit the bridge."the spool rolled off the flatbed marie cervantez/driver: "i -- i, i was scared."and didn't stop rolling. drivers pulled out their cell phones, all while weaving around the giant fiber optics cable moseying down i-10. right in the middle of lunch rush hour. it was crazy. and that's saying a lot. because we've seen it all on our freeways. marie cervantez/driver: "luckily nobody got hit from that. everybody stopped. but i kept going! because i didn't know it hit me." marie had no idea the spool bumped her bocho until she stopped at a gas station and saw the scratch. she's just happy no one was hurt. but marie did notice one thing -- that made her pretty angry. she says people were driving past that spool while texting. marie cervantez/driver: "this not good. because this can happen and they're not going to be aware, you know."not smart. not safe. not legal. marie cervantez/driver: "they better quit texting."
