suspicious package is found and addressed to the c-n-n headquarters in atlanta, georgia. natasha chen has the very latest. cesar sayoc, the man accused of sending more than a dozen pipe bombs to critics of president trump and cnn, appeared in federal court for the first time monday afternoon.wearing a tan jumpsuit and an orange shirt, sayoc listened as a federal magistrate judge read the five charges against him.law enforcement officials say sayoc had a list of more than 100 people to whom he intended to send packages.a 15th suspicious package was intercepted monday, this time addressed to cnn's atlanta headquartersf.b.i. director chris wray said part of the reason that sayoc was found so quickly was because he left a trail of evidence for investigators to followchris wray / fbi director: based on their initial analysis, they uncovered a latent fingerprint from one of the envelopes containing an ied. there is also a possible dna connection between samples collected from pieces of two different ieds. none of sayoc's bombs ever detonated and after his arrest on friday, he reportedly told

almena and max harris... they'd been talking about moving the case out of alameda county....but now say they've polled possible jurors -- and have changed their minds.saying jurors in alameda will likely be 'more friendly' than those in other counties. the 2016 warehouse fire killed three dozen partygoers.. a trial judge was supposed to be selected today but that decision was delayed until november 9th. the criminal trial is now scheduled for next april. (vicki) also new at 5... the golden state warriors will still be on the hook to pay for renovations at oracle arena even after they leave and go to san francisco. do so. in 19-96... a 30-year bond of 100-million dollars was issued to begin a major renovation of oracle arena. along with the upgrades... was a 20 year lease agreement... which they extended, and ends after the 2019-2020 season. the team argued their obligation ends when their lease does... while the colliseum authority, which is a partnership of both the city of oakland and alamdeda county, argued it didn't. the debate went to arbitratoin... which in the end... sided with the colliseum authority. authority chair nate miley, in a statement, says... "we are pleased by today's ruling and believe that it's the warriors, not the oakland and alameda county taxpayers who should repay this debt." the warriors still owe about 40- million dollars. pittsburg - bay area synagogues are re-examining their security measures. as kron four's terisa estacio reports, one synagogue says it's now taking extra steps to protect the congregation.(take pkg) terisa estacio, reporting, santa rosa here in santa rosa, they ahve increased security here at shomrei torah, after that shooting last weekend. but the rabbi also tells me that sadly, tough security is always on their minds. rabbi stephanie kramer, "we have panic buttons, cameras, 24 hour surveillance. (catherine) police in southern california are investigating a shooting that left seven people injured at a night club. they say there were two separate back-to-back shootings at the 'sevilla club' in in riverside last night. the victims were hospitalized. they're all expected to survived. the shooter - or shooters - got away. investigators don't have a description... some witnesses say they saw a single shooter, who was wearing a white mask. (catherine) a north carolina high school student was shot and killed today -- by a fellow student. it happened in a school hallway during a fight just before classes began at butler high school. it happened in the town of matthews... which is

southeast of charlotte. school officials say the shooting apparently stemmed from a case of bullying. a 16-year-old boy named bobby mckeithen was shot and later died at the hospital. a 16-year-old freshman is charged with first degree murder and is in jail tonight. (vicki) in the south bay - police have identified the driver who they believe killed a man in a hit and run. kron 4's sanaz tahernia spoke to sunnyvale police about the suspect. police have identified a woman they say was driving a red or maroon minivan when she fatally struck a man in a hit and run right here on central expressway near pajaro avenue. her name is reina robles, she's 55 years old and police say that on october 20th she struck and killed 73-year-old javad hada of sunnyvale. now police have already found the car. it was parked on tamarack avenue near halford avenue in santa clara. police say that they believe robles was driving the car because of an anonymous tip and they also believe she may try to leave the country. so if you do

(vicki) we told you last week about ken wayne's unusual flight .. transporting bear cubs between animal sanctuaries in lake tahoe and southern california.(catherine) tonight... ken is here with the return leg of that adventure... with a passenger that was bigger and even feistier... ken? (ken) flying two 20 pound cubs to southern california was quite a ride. flying one 80 pound bear back.. was even more eventuful. after a four hour flight from lake tahoe to san diego county and dropping off two bear cubs... our day wasn't even half way done. now we had to pick up another... larger cub... to take back to tahoe. this 77 pound bear was found near ojai in ventura county. matt anderson/fund for animals wildlife center539 he was definitely underweight for his age. we thought he was

about 8 to 9 months old. he came to us about 22 pounds. 545 cg: courtesy: humane society of the u.s. at his age he should be with his mother... but she was nowhere to be found... and this little guy's fur and skin were in bad shape. 703 if he hadn't been rescued and sent to us the prognosis wouldn't have been good. 707 after spending several weeks regaining his health and his weight... this bear became part of a trade between the fund for animals wildlife center in ramona... and lake tahoe wildlife care. after much coaxing... he was finally loaded into a crate... and into my plane. the volunteer flight is a lot less stressful than a long drive. 853 i'm always reticent to have bears especially in their crates on the back of a truck for 10 to 12 hours which is typically how long it takes to get from lake tahoe down to ramona. 903 after take off we're turning north... over the cajon pass... across the high desert near edwards air force base... and over the sierra. some clouds showed up that weren't part of the weather forecast. and then... the bear started to get restless.: "i think he wants out." scratching (carole' nods)"it's like finger nails on a chalk board" "he's pushing my chair" finally... he settled down again and we got to enjoy a spectacular view over yosemite valley.... cruising over the top of half dome. a short time later and we were back at lake tahoe... our day long bear trips at an end. the new arrival was named ojai... and it didn't take long for him to take to his new roomate

max eight made its first commercial flight 18 months ago.hundreds are onrder to airlines serving the bay area. natthis viral video shows the first glimpse of the crash site ... taken from a tugboat working on a nearby oil rig. the lion air flight took off at six=twenty a=m from jakarta's airport, circling over the city and out to sea for what was supposed to be a one=hour flight to the nearby island of sumatra.the flight crew requested permission to return to the airport ... and a few minutes later, the plane dseappeared off radar screens. a swedish website that tracks airliners shows the plane struggling to climb to a cruising altitude.former ntsb inspector=general mary schiavo calls that an important clue. "the plane at this point in the flight should have been over 10000 feet. and this plane only got up to about 5000 feet which tells us that they had a problem with power. when you cannot get up to the altitude quickly where you're supposed to be for this part of the flight that says that you don't have enough power in the plane. and then it was all had already radioed that it had a problem was going to turn back that suggests that it wasn't getting the power and perhaps in turning back it lost the airflow over its wings and that would be what's called an aerodynamic stall. but the fact that it could not climb tells us they had a problem with their engines, we think.
