they say they are furious about the way the staff and the company handled this incident. a husband and a husband and wife who say they found a hidden camera in their stateroom aboard a carnival cruise told inside edition exclusively that they believe the device was purposefully planted there. chris and dana white say they were aboard the carnival fantasy for a three-day caribbean cruise last october when they noticed the device, which they say was hidden among tv wires and pointing at their bed."i said, 'is that what i think it is?'" chris recalled. "and she looked at it and she became concerned. and we were just really flabbergasted that there's a camera in the room and it's plugged up and it's working." the couple, who said they immediately called security, claim the camera was camouflaged in a mess of wires behind their tv."once they pulled it out of the wires, you could clearly see it was a camera," dana said. "it was hidden very well," chris added. in video recorded by the whites aboard the cruise, a carnival technician brought in to dismantle the camera is heard saying that he believes it was disguised so
4:42 am
housekeeping wouldn't find it. ""very clever. this was done so that housekeeping wouldn't notice anything different when they are cleaning," the technician says. the device had an antenna, which chris believes was for transmitting video. at inside edition's request, surveillance expert joe van demark of the queens spy shop in new york examined the footage shot by the whites. "that transmitter is used to transmit video to a receiver like a baby monitor," he said, while holding a baby monitor and observing the whites' footage. in a statement to inside edition, carnival acknowledged that a "video transmitter" was found but the company said that it wasn't plugged in and wasn't recording. but the whites say the camera was functional. "when i found it, it was wired up and warm to the touch," chris said."i believe it was placed there honestly by a crew member," dana added.the whites have been left wondering whether whoever planted the camera pointed at their bed may have captured their most intimate moments.
