the two were drivi ng in walnut creek along south broadway near rudgear road when they were struck by another car. garza was pronounced dead at the scene. the infant was taken to the children's hospital in oakland where police confirmed she died tuesday night. sot: we lost two young lives an extremely young life and that family is devastated now and you know it impacted our organization. 35 year old jessica martin from tennessee is now facing murder charges for slamming inot the garza's and 2 other vehicles last night. martin is suspected of being drunk behind the wheel. sot: it's really taken a toll on our whole department and we just feel so sad for the family that they're having to go through this. martin's bond is set at more than $2million dollars.police say there is dash cam video from one of the vehicles involved in the accident. however, it's not being released at this time. the garza family has released a statement through an attorney asking for privacy... the statement reads in part quote: "kristen garza is mourning the death of her husband, hector and their 8 month old daughter, camilla who passed away last night. kristen is surrounded by family and support during this profoundly painful time." end

the ashby station in berkeley... and the station was shut down for most of the morning commute. will tran has the latest. ( will )bart trains are now stopping and picking up riders. but for close to two and a half hours the trains blew by the station and riders were turned away after the ashby station turned into a crime scene.a 450 this morning an injured person showed up to station dropping pools of blood upstairs and downstairs at the train platform.many riders showed up and had no idea until we broke the news to them(will tran-do you know what happened?)(bart rider-no i don't. some person was bleeding so profusely that they had to shutdown the station. wow. i know it happens but i didn't think here. that sucks)the person was taken to the hospital as haz mat crews arrived to the station.the scene was so massive and potential dangerous that crews used power washers to clean up the blood.meanwhile bart riders were forced to scramble.. to find other ways to get to their destinations.(bart

being hit by a drunk driver while riding her bike in rural marin county. debra di- benedetto taught at dixie elementary school for the past 20 years. grief counselors have been on campus to help the students and the school observed a moment of silence in her honor. the driver has been arrested and booked on suspicion of dui causing death and gross vehicular manslaughter. di- benedetto was 63 years old. (ryan) in the east bay... we're learning new information about the victims in a deadly crash involving a semi truck and a tour bus. it closed 8-80 near whipple road for several hours. we now know a 57-year old hayward woman and a 46-year old san lorenzo man were killed in the crash. kron 4's sara stinson was on scene and has the latest details. the four vehicle crash shut down the nimitz for nearly eight hours as the c-h-p's accident investigation team worked to find the cause of the crash that killed a man and a woman.

usually takes awhile to collect all the evidence, take photos, seperately the vehicles from eachother.">the four vehicle crash happened around 10:40 tuesday night. the c-h-p says a tour bus was driving in the middle lane heading northbound on 880 when the driver came upon some stop and go traffic. the driver of the tour bus hit a lexus - pushing it to the left into another lane. the tour bus continued on and collided into a ford. the ford slammed into a u-p-s semi truck. there was one person in each vehicle - both the driver of the lexus and the ford died on scene. the drivers inside the tour bus and semi truck have no injuries. as each hour passed in the investigation - c-h-p officers on scene worked quickly to re-open 880 before the morning commute ramped up. all lanes re-opened by 6:15 in the morning. the c-h-p says alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be involved. investigators are looking at everything to see what could have factored into the crash including the construction on 880, texting and driving or speed. in

(vicki) some heartbreaking news that surfaced at the top of the hour the passing of legendary giant willie mccovey. (ryan) mark carpenter joins us with more on this sad news. mccovey was one of the greatest to ever play the game..and just loved by so many giants fans. you could say the first major fan favorite, when the team came to san francisco. six-time all-star... mvp... rookie of the year... three-time national league home run leader. a 22-year major league career that started back in 1959...with him going 4-for-4 off the hall of famer robin roberts. mccovey went into the hall himself...in 1986...his first year of eligibility... and of course, we all know that every homer that lands in the water behind at&t ends up in mccovey cove. the giants are saying he died after battling ongoing health issues. in a statement, team president larry baer said "san francisco and the entire baseball community lost a true gentleman and legend, and our

daniels... most famously known for his role as "mr. feeny" in the show "boy meets world"... foiled a robbery attempt at his los angeles home. according to his publicist... someone tried to break-in on saturday evening while daniels and his wife bonnie were there. when the suspect attempted to enter through a back door.....the 91-year old turned on the lights and scared him away. the los angeles police department quickly responded. both daniels and his wife were not injured. one of daniels' "boy meets world' co-stars will friedle, who played older brother eric matthews, tweeted..."don't ever mess with mr. feeny! hastag love you bill and bonnie." but the pathway to ending "pot prohibition..." hasn't been entirely smooth. kron 4's maureen kelly goes in depth tonight... into this budding industry that's still struggling with growing pains. this video was shot last month when the cannabis harvest was in full swing....farmworkers watering their crops which have grown to big bushes in the sonoma county soil under sunny fall skies. other snip the ready green buds....or flowers as they are commonly refered to in this growing industry....getting them ready to be dried before they are shipped shipped to a dispensary shivawn brady is this farm's director of operations. she says that they've been compliant for some time now....so little about how they are growing has changed in this first harvest since weed was made legal for adults.....expect the increase in red tape.37:31 i think it's upwards of 22 different agencies that are regulating

this crop i spend almost 40 hours a week just focused on compliance and trying to fiture out all of this1120 , from the california fish and wildlife , to the state water board to the department of ag to the dept of pesticide regulation, this is one of the most heavily regulated crops we've probably seen in history so it's challengingthe folks at the justice grown farm only cultivate a little less than one acre on their 56 acre propery because that's all they are allowed under county ordinance. they'd like to grow a second acre on this patch as well....but that's unlikely to happen unless sonoma county decides to change their cannabis rules...yet again. this is the second harvest they've gathered here at this location. they used to be in another spot....but were forced to move after officials decided their old farm was in an area not suitable for commerical pot farming. they

are applying for a variance so they don't have to move a third time.that and many other aspects of becoming a legitimate cannabis business remains up in the air. compliance is a moving target so it's challeging to build your operations, make smart capitol investments when you don't know exactly what that finish line should look like. while they have authorization to operate justice grown still does not have an official permit from the county ...and it could be six months to a year until that's a reality. brady says there are over 200 cannabis farmers in sonoma county trying to get a conditional use permit. it's been over a year since this process began and as yet, none of them have been granted one. 5:52.so that leaves a lot of folks in limbo not knowing if they should continue to invest if they should continue moving forward or they should just pull the plug and just find a different county a different city that might have a more friendly cannabis policy9:19 most of us have deep roots in this county so the idea of leaving is really painful but the idea of abandoning, for alot of us this is our dream, is also really painfulbut brady says justice grown is still in a better position than other smaller farmers forced to fold or stay underground because county rules state that those one acre pot grows must sit on 10 acres of farmland29:05 we've

(pam) in the east bay -- two people have died as a result of a four- vehicle crash on interstate- 880 in union city last night. police say, a tour bus, without any passengers onboard .... going at least 65- miles per hour, collided with the rear end of a lexus -- pushing the bus on top of the back of the car... and then knocking the car out of the way. the tour bus then collided with the rear end of a ford -- which was pushed into the back of a u-p-s truck. the drivers of both the lexus and the ford --- a 57-year old hayward woman, and a 46-year old man from san lorenzo ... both died in the crash. (pam) a new campaign is calling for all americans to visit synagogues this weekend to fight anti- semitism. 'show up for shabbat' was launched by the american jewish committee. it comes after 11 people were killed last saturday at the 'tree of life' synagogue in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. synagogues across the country are being asked to prepare for a possible increase in guests ... as the nation mourns the deadly shooting.
