(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis. the so called "googlers" were protesting against the alleged inaction on claims of harassment sexual and misconduct. one of the largest walkouts was at the company's headquarters in mountain view. kron four's rob fladeboe is there with details on what happened today. rob? (rob live) this disatisfaction with thecompany's sexual harassment policies has been brewing for a long time. today, employees gathered in mass to deliver a set of demands to management. lat's take a look. this was the scene here at company headquarters in mountaib view and at other google offices around the world at precisely 11:10 this morning. the media was kept at a distance as google employees streamed into the center of campus for a rally where some of their colleagues shared

stories about sexual harassment that have allegedly been ignored by management, says walkout organizer cecelia o'neil hart.cecelia o'neil hart/walkout organizer '.....i got very emotional. we heard incredible stories from brave women who stood up and told their stories and we also heard stories we have been collecting on the web from women who didn't feel comfortable and gave voice t them... the walkout grew out of anger over the millions of dollars paid out to a former executive asked to resign over allegations of sexual misconduct.cecelia o'neil hart "...that was the $90 million dollar straw that broke the camel's back but to be honest there are so many stories that we were hearing for so long that it was time for action and time for a change..." judging from the turnout, their is widespread support for changing a climate of what one empoyee described as "systemic sexual misconduct," to come to an end. the company was presented with a list of demands.cecelia o'neil hart "....we want forced arbitration, we want arbitration and we want representation at the highest level, we want representation with human relations...."(full screen graphic)in a statement, google c.e.o. sundar pichai said..."...employees have raised constructive ideas on how we can improve our policies and processes, we are taking in all their feedback so we can turn these ideas into action..."

does not sit well with neighbors. and, as kron four's philippe djegal reports... police have limited information on the shooter. (philippe) larry arnold lives across the street from the seven trees community center in south san jose. and, was resting inside his home at around 10-30 halloween night...larry arnold/neighbor- "and, i just heard pow, pow, pow, pow, pow." alarming because the community center on cas drive had wrapped up a halloween party about an hour and a half earlier. the parking lot and community center were closed, but some teenagers were still hanging out outside... and, the san jose police department says three of them were shot. jesse/neighbor- "yeah, just uh, pretty sad." jesse says the girl ran off into a nearby apartment complex. police say all three victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. all are expected to survive after receiving

treatment at a local hospital.. don la/neighbor- "i don't know what to say -- that's terrible." police say, prior to the shooting, the suspect approached the teenagers... got into an argument with them, and eventually opened fire. what led to the confrontation is unclear.juliet tarayno/neighbor- "(philippe) is this normally a quiet area? (juliet) yes." but larry arnold says the area is not immune to violent crimes.larry arnold/neighbor- "lately, its been happening pretty often. (philippe) why? (larry) i don't know if people are gang violence, trippin, something." so far, police have (vicki) an annual halloween sweep designed to keep sex offenderschildren resulted in arrests yesterday.. (catherine) california corrections officials say they arrested 110 sex offenders on parole yesterday.. it was the 25th year for the halloween sweep. officers covered a lot of ground - with more than 12-hundred-50 parolees being contacted statewide. these are always random visits - with an unexpected knock on the door. the idea of course...to keep offenders from contacting children or

engaging in any kind of halloween activity. of the 110 people arrested - most had somehow violated the conditions of their parole. eight of them face new charges. many were found to have pornography or drugs. some had weapons. hundreds of parole agents joined forces with local law enforcement to do the searches and compliance checks. grant and vicki? longtime health issues. kron 4's sara stinson reports. a memorial continues to grow here at willie mccovey's statue right across from a-t and t park. you can see flowers, candles and giants gear...people say they had to stop by and honor the late and great mccovey.the giants announced his death saying the fearsome hitter passed peacefully yesterday afternoon. this morning you could see mccovey statue standing tall in front of the most golden sunrise. people took photos with the statue and some even left a piece of giants gear behind in his honor. as people stopped to tribute the hall of famer they talked with others about the hard hitter. mccovey made his major league debut with the giants in 19-59 and was with the giants for 18 years out of his 22 year career.in recent years - mccovey has been getting around in a wheelchair, but that didn't stop him from coming here to a-t and t park as he regularly watched games in his suite.he even got to see the final game of the season this year.

46-year-old lumumba richard of san lorenzo died tuesday night. a tour bus collided with the rear of a 1997 lexus driven by rodriguez. the bus then crashed into the ford driven by richard. rodriguez and richard were pronounced dead at the scene. the cause is still under investigation. ... (vicki) albany police are asking for your help to identify a man who they say was annoying young girlsé it happened monday morning along key route boulevard and solano avenue. police say the man drove up in a white truck and asked the girls to get in. the girls said no... but they say they saw the man again and he tried to talk to them again. officers say they ran away and called their parents. the suspect is described as a man in his late 20's or early 30's man with a light complexion, an unshaven face and short, brown hair. (grant) for your health tonight... in a move that has taken years of research and advocacy, the f-d-a has approved a prescription drug made from cannabis. it's called epidiolex... and it's a twice-daily oral solution for patients who suffer from two types of epileptic syndromes. it's available in all 50 states. the medication was recommended for approval in april and approved by the fda in june. it is approved for use in patients

voters passed the law that made marijuana legal for adults, they had high hopes that the golden state would reap financial benefits from the formerly illicit industry. quin...became a marijuana mogul when he says he and his crew developed a new kind of pot product.combining a nugget of weed ... with cannabis oil and glazing with with finely grated pot particles called kief....in order to produce a super charged dose of thc. 15:54 that's what we were shooting for let's make this hybrid nug with all of these stuff in it and hey what do we call it and lets call it moon rockhe and his team used their rap video to promote moon rock....and it took off.. for a time it was selling in 500 dispensary retailing for 30 bucks a gram.22:10 it just took off faster than we can anticipate. i just wanted to get a name in the music industry it skyrocketed into a big name in a cannabis industry but he had to stop selling his product because he lacks the proper permits required now under the new law. he's trying to get permits to open a cannabis cultivation, manufacturing and distribution center in modesto. it's a process that can take anywhere from 9 to 18 months. 26:40 i could paint a pretty picture and make it sound great but i call it a roller coaster ride, you have your ups and downs legalization advocates have long said that marijuana is california's real cash crop.....leading up to the vote that make adult recreational use legal....voters were told to expect that the next gold rush would be green....but while there are plenty of pot sales inside dispensaries.....so far the tax dollars that were expected to be generated aren't nearly as high as expected. when the state budget was drawn up....it was predicted that the excise and cultivatation taxes in the first six month of this year would total 175 million dollars.that figure may have been a pipe dream.the state office of tax and fee administration reports they've taken in close to 85 million from pot businesses in that time frame....which is less than half of what was hoped for. the sales tax totals during that same time was $53 million. which puts the total tax levied on weed....at

nearly 138 million dollar. and some say the state and local goverment's overly burdensome regulations are to blame for the shortfall.35:19 the passage of prop 64 it's actually caused the market to constrict because it's created higher barriers to entry natalia thruston is a cannabis business attorney who helps clients navigate the many hurdles being put up by the state and local municipalities. 36:30 because the city and counties are time to process permits that people have applied to on a local level or even consider permitting it's creating a industry because nobody can get up and running unless they have a temporary permit which very few peopke are able to obtain one of her clients used to run a non profit medical marijuana service that processed an average of $1500 a day in orders. but she decided to close up shop and become a cannabis consultant...because she says once prop 64 became law it was too expensive to stay in business....02:27 i see that i'ts very difficult for small businesses into the business. it's unfortunate that i've had to tell a lot of my clients who come in wanting to dispensary that if they don't have a million and a half dollars it's going to happen and with u-s banks unwilling to loan money to businesses operating in a market the federal government still considers r mom and pop entrepenuers are being forced to fold....or stay ..and while some like rapper mic quin are able to bid their time while waiting for the red tape to loosen up....it's believed that a lot of pot products are being kept off dispensary store shelves.....which translates to fewer tax dollars going into the state coffers. maureen kelly kron4 news (anchor) (anchor) taking a live

month, and some local farmers are looking to grow their income ... by planting marijuana next to their other crops. but up in napa county, which is world famous for its wines, there is still a ban on commerical cultivation of marijuana.(ken) kron4's maureen kelly talked to the napa county farm bureau which has concerns about mixing the crops. 46:15 there are grape growers in napa county who are interseted in growing cannabis drinkers know it's a bad idea to mix grapes with grain.....but what about grapes and grass?when it comes to farmers planting cannabis near vineyards ....it turns out there are concerns. 43:07 there are some people because it's illegal federal they take issue with it but for us it's something that needs to be studied because it is a crop and it grows in the ground and if napa county continues to go down the path of allowing commericialzation of cannabis then that's something we have to a positionbut it's not just that fact that marijuana is still considered illegal by the federal goverment..there are concerns that the plant could pollute the flavor of grapes.so cannabis taint is an issue if you are growing cannabis next to wine grapes we need to figure out when it reaches a high level of thc potency is there any kind of drift that occurs from cannabis to wine grapes where the wine grapes get affected by being grown so close to cannabis.on the flip side.......there are also concerns that pot - could also

be negitively affected if grown too close to grapes.the chemicals that you would use on wine grapes versus cannabis are very different and cannabis is a product that under california law would need to test clean and so we need to continue to look at is it feasible to plant cannabis next to wine grapes where in napa county would that be more permissable.those are questions that still need to continue to look at and answer. at this point the napa county farm bureau has yet to take a position on the issue.it's quite possible they will get that extra time to study the issue..on november 13th the napa county board of supervisors will consider extending their ban on commerical pot business... which includes farming.....anot her year.maureen kelly kron4 news. (pam) the search continues in fairfield for a missing tortoise .... which also happens to be a social media star. reporter shirin rajaee tells us all about ethel. kacey kuchinski/tortoise owner: "she really was this spot of sunshine in our life that was just very regular, part of our routine. losing that feels very much like losing a loved one."it's been an emotional and frantic two weeks searching for ethel, a 2-year- old sulcata tortoise, a native to the african savannah.kacey kuchinski:"this is the gate where she got out."during the day, her owners here on bridal bridge drive typically allow ethel to roam outside to get sun and exercise.they've put up little fences and plant pots to keep her from escaping. but that day her owners left the house briefly, and it appears ethel found an opening. kacey kuchinski:"people keep telling me 'oh she's a tortoise how far could she have gotten?' they're built to walk miles in a day."but ethel is no ordinary tortoise.she's an instagram sensation, stealing hearts online with more than 65-hundred followers. here she is dressed up for halloween last year as a ladybug.or here, in her

christmas outfit.kacey kuchinski:"all of a sudden she started getting more and more followers. people were sharing her, she was featured on buzzfeed."one of those fans in los angeles.jadee rhodes:"i follow ethel on instagram and when i saw that post that she was missing, i was so heartbroken for her family. i cried because i have a tortoise of my own and i know the pain that they are going through."jadee rhodes is rooting for ethel to come home. jadee rhodes:"i'm offering 500 dollars for anybody that finds her and returns her safely."a family torn, but ethel's fan club, keeping the hope alive. kacey kuchinski:"trying to hold on to that thread of hope that maybe she's out there, and somebody might find her and she could come back to us."
