is closed after a huge steel beam fell on to the freeway. it is expected to remained closed until about 4 p-m. kron 4s sara stinson is live in oakland and explains how it all happened. sara? marty you can see the massive steel beams behind me blocking all northbound lanes on 880 - this right at the 23rd avenue exit in oakland. take a look at this video - an up close look of the car that caused this closure - a ford expedition.the c-h-p says around 3:40 this morning a 28-year-old woman of hayward was driving at a high rate of speed - lost control - and crashed into the support beams holding up the steel girders for the 23rd avenue overpass that was under construction. the woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.all lanes have been closed for three hours and they will continue to be for several more hours to come causing a huge traffic
