(rob live) the fire started on the second floor of this apartment building here on menker avenue near san jose city college. one person was hospitalized as neighborssay the fire started amid suspicious circumstances. a close look at this man who allegedly attacked at woman at knifepoint friday morning. (vicki) police say the woman suffered a non life threatening injury in the attack.(grant) kron4's maureen kelly explains how the victim was able to fend off her attacker. when he attacked the lady he did threaten to kill her and that's when she was able to fight him offhayward police say the victim was walking here on the 25-thousand block of calaroga avenue just after 5 am friday morning when she was attacked by an adult male. he attacks here he's armed with a knife she's able to fight the man off she's even able to pepper spray him..she did sustain a non life threatening injury but she's going to be okaypolice were able to obtain surveillance camera video...this is a still frame showing the man as police say he runs away to his compact car parked a block away on kay avenue. they say at this point they don't know what the suspect's motive might have been.it could've been something to do with sexual salt it could've been a robbery it could've been just to hurt the lady we're not a 100 percent positive on that but we're investigating all of those angleshayward pd has posted this image on their facebook page and are asking any one with any information about who this might be to give them a call. one 25 year resident of the block who didnt' want to appear on camera says this is first time she's ever heard of a crime like this happening here.. it's a really nice quiet

the shooting happened monday morning at the helen vine recovery center. brittany mccann's father says 37- year-old davance reed went on a shooting spree instead of checking into the center. he says his daughter and reed got into an argument... and reed later came back and started shooting. an employee was also injured, and another man was killed. reed was later arrested after an unrelated police chase in cotati. (grant) in the east bay... a driver is arrested for illegally dumping several items in antioch. take a look at these pictures from the police department. officers say they received a call from people who work at a nearby car dealership-- saying someone was on railroad tracks dumping trash. when officers arrived they found this u-haul truck... and the driver was dumping a bunch of things... including mattresses and couches. the driver was arrested and the truck was towed. (vicki) in response to the plane crash in indonesia that killed nearly 190 people-- the f-a-a is issuing

a safety directive. (grant) the notice instructs crews on what to do if they encounter problems with a certain kind of air speed sensor. that sensor could be connected to the indonesia crash. omar jiminez reports from washington. new guidance coming from boeing and the federal aviation administration, as overseas, investigators continue to dive for answers into what exactly happened to lion air flight 610 when it crashed into the java sea last week.all 189 passengers and crew on board were killed.the head of indonesia's search and rescue agency says his team is still working to locate the cockpit voice recorder, which he believes is buried under the mud.but the other black box showing the actual flight data was found last week -- indicating the plane had only conducted 19 flights, including its last one.but it's really the last four that investigators are keying in on. that's because for all of those four, the plane had a malfunctioning indicator, including at the time of the crash.indonesian investigators further say flight 610 had issues in its "angle of attack" or a.o.a. sensors, an automated system which helps the pilot obtain proper air speed for optimal lift. it's part of boeing's statement,

are trying to figure out the source of a fatal virus outbreak at a new jersey medical facility..(vicki) there have been both deaths and serious illness as a result... catherine heenan is here with the details. (catherine) at least 10 people have been killed by what's called the adenovirus...and twenty others have gotten sick. it's happening at a nursing and rehab facility in jew jersey...authorities are scrambling to figure out how it surfaced here... the c-d-c says the virus usually is spread by personal contact or touching a surface that has the virus. symptoms include a fever, sort throat and bronchitis. among the 30 confirmed cases - a 16 year old girl who died. her mother says she's heartbroken and

we are learning more tonight about monday's deadly shooting at san rafael detox facility this comes... as formal murder charges are filed against the suspect. kron 4's dan kerman reports. murder charges have been filed against this man devance reed in connection with monday's triple shooting at a san rafael detox center.reed has been charged with the murder of 52 year old nathan hill. he is also charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend 30 year old brittany mccann, who is the mother of his child and 32 year old anthony masapit, an employee at the facility. both suffered life threatening injuries and remain in the icu at at marin general . family members say mccann had brought the suspect to the helen vine detox center to get help, but the two ended up in an argument and reed left only to come back and start shooting.

in the boeing plane crash off the coast of indonesia last week that killed 189 people. boeing issued a statement today saying that according to indonesia's national transportation safety committee the plane had "erroneous input from one of its angle of attack sensors."

the company also issued a safety bulletin to pilots on how to handle erroneous data from those sensors. the angle of attack sensor keeps track of the angle of the plane's nose relative to air flow to prevent the plane from stalling and losing lift. indonesian investigators say an airspeed indicator had malfunctioned on the plane's last four flights. for twenty years now. david went memorial day morning, he left and he was just going to go up and come back he was just that kind of guy. the last time susan quinn saw her son was in 1998. i brought a picture of david taken not very long before he went missing. david morrison was from fresno and a graduate of hoover high, he was a chef in san francisco 20 years ago.... it was memorial day weekend when david and a group of friends came to yosemite to enjoy the outdoors and get away from the city like many others do.... that monday david decided he needed to meet the challenge of hiking up there before he went home. he left his group and hiked up to yosemite's iconic half dome...alone. that was the last time anyone ever heard from him...i came up early the next morning. quinn and her

family spent the week in the park with search and rescue...but nothing came up. at the end of the week on friday they ended the search. she along with others came back several times to search on their own, but nothing was found..not his clothes, his expensive sun glasses his fanny pack or his credit cards...nothing. nothing has ever been found that located where he died or what happened to him. visitors from all over the world come to yosemite for the nature and beauty, but not everyone's trip ends like they expected. this story...david's story...has gone cold...and his case is not the only one... when someone goes missing or there is some sort of crime that happens and it is not solved it goes into what we call the cold case file. scott gediman from yosemite says all of these cases are still active...and they are not going anywhere until they investigators from the park find out what happened. the oldest one on the list dates back to 1969...there are over two dozen cold cases on the list from people who have gone missing...to unsolved homicides..yosemite national park and grand canyon are the most popular parks.in yosemite there are 10 cases. these
