the holidays begin here at the disneyland resort. we're following breaking news this morning.. the camp fire has destroyed nearly 90- thousand acres and has claimed the lives of at least nine people.. and this morning there may be a cause to what's now being called the most destructive fire in california history. the fire is only 5 percent contained and its burned more than 7- thousand structures... most of them homes. kron4's sara stinson is joining us now live from a church in oroville...with more on this new development and how the church is helping out evacuess. good morning sara. by bay city news service an outage on a pg&e

transmission line in butte county occurred le than a half hour before the start of the camp fire, according to a report the utility sent to the california public utilities commission. the report was sent thursday to the commission by meredith allen, senior director of regulatory relations. pg&e officials also said that thursday afternoon a pg&e crew on aerial patrol saw damage to a transmission tower on the transmission line that had the outage thursday morning about 15 minutes before the camp fire is said to have started. the line is located about one mile northeast of the town of pulga, which is close to the origin of the camp fire. allen said in the report that this information is preliminary. pg&e officials issued a statement friday afternoon. "nothing is more important than the safety of our customers, employees, contractors and the communities we serve, the statement said. "the cause of the camp fire has not yet been determined. pg&e has provided an initial electric incint report to the safety and enforcement division of the california public utilities commission (cpuc). pg&e will fully cooperate with any investigations."

( marty ) new this morning.. a butte county family is desperately searching for one of their children who disapperared as thousands of residents tried to escape the camp fire. on thursday, the harmon family says they went to pick up one of their children from school, while a family friend picked up another harmon child. but in all the evacuation confusion, the family hasn't able to connect with the family friend. the family says they've checked all the shelters in chico and haven't heard anything. from paradise.at first people were just feeling fortunate to make it out of paradise alive as thousands of people were driving down a two lane road called the skyway.embers were landing on cars and people barely made it out alive...some people didn't. now many are getting past that and coming to terms with the fact that their home is probably burned down along with most of the town of paradise. we know over seven thousand strucutures have burned down and many of those are homes.it's the not knowing that is driving a lot of people crazy.butte county cal fire wants people to know its going to take sometime before they can let people back up there to assess the damage as they are still working 24 hours a day to put this fire out.sotxxxhere at the evacuation center people are starting to wake up. i'll be live here all morning long checking in with people.marty i reported and lived in butte county for over a year so i can tell you this area is extremely devastated right now. looting is also been a concern in the evacuated areas.live in

news this morning.. the camp fire has destroyed 100-thousand acres and has claimed the lives of at least nine people.. and this morning there may be a cause to what's now being called the most destructive fire in california history. the fire is now 20 percent contained and its burned more than 7-thousand structures... most of them homes. kron4's sara stinson is joining us now live from a church in oroville...with more on this new development and how the church is helping out evacuess. good morning sara. by bay city news service an outage on a pg&e transmission line in butte county occurred less than a half hour before the start of the camp fire, according to a report the utility sent to the california public utilities commission. the report was sent thursday to the commission by meredith allen, senior director of regulatory relations. pg&e officials also said that thursday afternoon a pg&e crew on aerial patrol saw damage to a transmission tower on the

transmission line that had the outage thursday morning about 15 minutes before the camp fire is said to have started. the line is located about one mile northeast of the town of pulga, which is close to the origin of the camp fire. allen said in the report that this information is preliminary. pg&e officials issued a statement friday afternoon. "nothing is more important than the safety of our customers, employees, contractors and the communities we serve, the statement said. "the cause of the camp fire has not yet been determined. pg&e has provided an initial electric incident report to the safety and enforcement division of the california public utilities commission (cpuc). pg&e will fully cooperate with any investigations." thanks sara. minutes before the camp fire sparked up.the line is close to pulga which is right near the origin of the fire. so this officials will continue to look into this in the coming days - but it's looking like this could be the cause. i'm live right now here at the church of nazarene where there are hundreds of evacuees....this evacuation center is about 20 minutes from paradise.at first people were just feeling fortunate to make it out of paradise alive as thousands of people were driving down a two lane road called the skyway.embers were landing on cars and people barely made it out alive...some people didn't. now many are getting past that and coming to terms with the fact that their home is probably burned down along with most of the town of paradise. we know over seven thousand strucutures have burned down and many of those are homes.it's the not knowing that is driving a lot of people crazy.butte county cal fire wants people to know its going to take sometime before they can let people back up there to assess the damage as they are still working 24 hours a day to put this fire out.sotxxxhere at the
