( robin ) devastation and destruction up and down our state-- as three massive fires are raging. and now we're learning california's deadliest wildfire in history -- the one up in butte county... has claimed six more lives and destroyed more homes. bringg e death toll statewid. ( robin ) these are the latest numbers this morning for the butte county fire.... the death toll has risen

to 48. 76-hundred áhomes have burned to the ground. and the total number more than 8hundred. the fire has also grown to 130 thousand acres. it is 35 percent contained. kron4's j-r stone spoke to some of the people that have lost everything. sot...it was like dante's inferno....joel burgess, who is a navy veteran, is describing what it was like when he and his wife evacuated their home in paradise california last week. he says the escape video's that others recorded were exactly what they experienced.sotwhen we spoke with joel he had assumed that his home was gone from what he had heard from a friend, but he wasn't sure. with that we drove through the area in route to his home and

in hopes that something would still be there. our hopes were quickly dashed when the road to get to his house was blocked by a tree. upon arriving at his home there was little to nothing left outside of the birdfeeders and this statue. joel's three harley davidson motorcycles destroyed. joel says while the news is grim and some may soon be leaving the area he and his wife will stay.sot ( robin ) while crews still in the thick of the firefight in butte county .... some families are starting to

( darya )( darya ) this morning we are learning about a san francisco native who lost everything in the camp fire. joel burgess and his wife evacuated paradise last week. he says the video showing people leaving with the fire burning all around them is exactly what they experienced. burgess said he assumed his home was burned down but didn't get confirmation until he walked through with our crews. the only things standing at his home now are birdfeeders and a statue. his three motorcycles destroyed by the fire. but burgess says they will stay.. he doesn't see life outside of paradise.
