who toured the destruction from the 'camp fire' in butte county wednesday. here's a look at the latest numbers from the camp fire. an additional 8 bodies were found. bringing the total victims to 56. there are still 130 people missing and a list of 103 names of those missing has been released. more than 10,000 structures have been destroyed.... the vast majority of those are homes. the camp fire has burned more than 138,000 acres and is 35 percent contained. more than 5,600 firefighters are on the lines. ( robin ) today marks one week since the camp fire erupted in butte county. and we are learning more about the heroism of first responders who moved quickly to save lives in the early hours of the fire. kron 4's charles clifford spent the afternoon listening to fire dispatch audio .... from the first day of the fire. ( robin ) as we've reported ... 52,000 people have evacuated from their homes because of the 'camp fire' in butte county ... and now we are learning of yet another problem many of them are dealing with.. an outbreak of norovirus.kron4's gayle ong spoke with a volunteer who says about a dozen people have gotten sick so far annelies farmer is a registered nurse and has been treating patients at the neighborhood church in chico, where there has been an outbreak of norovirushealth officials say norovirus is highly contagious and can cause diarreha, fever and body aches - it spreads commonly when people are in close quarters the church is one of the shelters housing evacuees.

everything clean and sanitized.">sarah and jonathan starr are trying to take it day by dayafter losing their home in paradise to the deadly camp fire.they are seeking refuge at the chico wal martwhere the parking lot is covered with donations for fire victims.rob busick is a volunteer, he calls this a short term solution to a long term problem.michelle desoto also lost her home in the blaze - but considers herself lucky and is grateful for a place like this. for michelle, the wildfire may have taken her home, but it did not take her spirit.

junior has been riding around with his mask on. he and his children all have asthma.none of us flared up for a while. laytely everybody been flaring up. i had to call my doctors today to get some ashma pumps. i asked for a 6 psck of asthma pumpsin the valley ... the air quality levels were the worst in livermore.it's an extremely unhealthy level of air quality at this point. the eqi is from 0-100. purple is the highest stge and it's unhealthy. at red you should be wearing a mask. at purple you probably shoudnt be going outsidebob villano and his daughter alicia are being cautious.even if it doesn't do anything, jsut having it on for a peace of mind is better than nothing they noticed the air never eased up.when the sun was setting i said you can look right at it becasue theres so much haze it blocks out the hazards of the sunif you are breathing in the polluted air-- health officials urge that you contact your doctor if you have any of the following symptomsshortness of breath, eye irritation, skin irritation, chest pain, these are the sypmtoms oxygen isn't

( robin ) and as alicia just told us, when the air quality is in the red, we need to be wearing masks. but we've gotten questions from viewers about which masks are bests. so we spoke to brett singer... a scientist at berkeley lab.singer says, if you get a mask make sure it says "n-95" or "p-100" on it. and if possible, get one that has a plastic valve piece. singer also says, the most important thing you can do to battle the poor air quality is make your home a clean air environment and stay inside stay inside with the windows

our four - legged friends, too. kron 4's dan kerman looks at what one bay area animal shelter is doing to help pets affected by the fire. when fire victims lose their homes, so do their pets, that's why people have been stopping by north bay animal services in petaluma to donate pet supplies for victims of the camp firesot jayne myers/petaluma resident :10i made these throughout the summer its 115 and it happened to be perfect timing for the fire victimsthis woman brought kennels, crates, bowels, towels, and leashessot pam henry/santa rosa dog breeder :23we had our fire here last year it still brings back memories so i want to help anybody i canthis load will packed into these trailers and driven up to the northwest spca in oroville on sunday. it's the second round of donations since the fire broke out.natsthis little guy is a staff favoriteduring the last visit the petaluma shelter also picked up 19 cats and 12

up look at what's floating around in our atmosphere.this science experiment was put together by their teacher who just so happened to be teaching about the respiratory system last week -when the camp fire erupted sending smoke --- polluting the bay area skies. the class left dishes smeared with vaseline outside over the three- day weekend....and now, they are using microscopes to count the trapped particulates...here's one example of what was captured. ( robin ) one man thought he had put his fire fighting days behind him. but as the flames from the 'camp fire' closed in on his home in paradise .. a retired east contra costa fire captain jumped right back into action. kron 4's justine waldman has the story of how he saved his almost 90 year old neighbors life.. and the prized possession he lost to the flames. sot this was the worst in my career that i have dealt with retirement .. should not look like this....after 30 years as a fire captain in contra costa county, john foster and his wife moved from brentwood to paradise in july.but the camp fire destroyed their dreams.

coming to toll plazas at the bay area's seven bridges. wednesday the bay area toll authority advanced a plan that would remove all cash toll plazas. transportation officials say some of the benefits of cash free tolls would be: improved traffic flow at the plazas, reduce emissions, and protecting toll workers. as for the bay bridge... that would be the last of the seven bridges to have it's toll plaza come down because of the volume of traffic.. there are also hundreds of toll takers that would be need to be retrained... while this change is not a done deal, the metropolitan transportation commission says it's clearly the way of the future.

wednesday to call on amazon to invest in infrastructure, the subway system and affordable housing.they're also angry about the financial incentives given to amazon.amazon is saying the new headquarters will bring 25 thousand new jobs to the area.and promise to bring in new green spaces to the area. ( robin ) flying the friendly skies might be a little crowded for the next couple of weeks. this is expected to be the busiest thanksgiving ever for air travel. the lobbying group-- airlines for america-- projects a record 30-point-six million passengers will take flight during the 12-day thanksgiving air travel period. that's more than a million and a half more people estimated to fly this year than the same time last year. the thanksgiving period starts friday, november 16th and runs through tuesday, november 27th. the busiest day is expected to be the sunday after thanksgiving-- november 25th. due to the expected increase - airlines

are adding thousands of seats to flights to accommodate last minute travelers. evacuation centers. health officials confirm that the oubreak happened at the neighborhood church in chico. they say norovirus is highly contagious and it spreads quickly when people are in close quarters.

the evacuation centers that have opened up.. others are choosing to stay in their cars and in tents. jessamy cartwright is living out of her car after her home burned down. she says her boyfriend is in the hospital for an injury... and being by herself is hard and shes confused about what will happen. but she says she doesn't want to go to an evacuation center.

american red cross is accepting donations. you can check kron 4.com for details.. ( darya ) six people have been arrested on suspicion of looting homes that people evacuated in butte county. the sheriff's office says deputies found two men hiding inside home in the town of paradise with a handgun and drugs monday. deputies also found an atv, an ar-15 rifle and tools the men are suspected of stealing. two other men were arrested tuesday with a laptop computer that allegedly didn't belong to them. a few hours later, two more people were arrested after they were spotted in a motorhome reported stolen in the neighboring town of magalia. ( james ) california governor jerry brown has signed executive order to cut red tape and streamline recovery efforts in butte county. u-s interior secretary ryan zinke joined governor brown in sending a joint message that now is not the time to point fingers at who is responsible for the camp-fire... refusing to comment on p-g&e's potential culpability. instead yesterday was about sending a unified message of support and help... as officials were shocked by the horror of the deadliest and most destructive fire in state history.

devastating that i don't really have the words to describe it. it looks like a war zone. it is. it's the devastation that only fires of this kind can bring about.">( james ) federal officials are pledging to make sure butte county gets the money it needs to deal with this disaster. ( darya ) as we've reported 52-thousand people evacuated from there homes because of the camp fire... and now we are learning that there is a norovirus outbreak at one of the evacuation centers. health officials confirm that the oubreak happened at the neighborhood church in chico. they say norovirus is highly contagious and it spreads quickly when people are in close quarters. ( darya ) officials say about a

dozen people got sick. they did bleach and clean the evacuation monitoring all ( darya ) the north bay animal services is doing its part for some of the four legged fire victims. yesterday people were stopping by the north bay animal services facility in petaluma... to donate a wide range of supplies for pet owners impacted by the camp fire. one quilter even made more than 100 pet beds. the donations will be packed into these trailers and driven up to the northwest s-p- c-a in oroville on sunday. some people are also offering to foster pets until they're ready for adoption.

if you want to donate any supplies to the shelter or even adopt an animal.. the shelter is open 1-and-6 tuesday through saturday and this weekend an adoption event is happening at the petaluma petco. similiar to how the golden gate bridge is operating right now. kron four's terisa estacio has more. options, and came back with open road tolling that would be no one there... just fast track. goodwin says some of the benefits of going for open tolls would be to improve traffic flow at the plazas, reduce emissions, and protect toll workers... take a look at this, a while ago, there was a rash of robbed at the carquinez bridge. for that reason, and due to space concerns and congestion, the carquinez bridge coudl be the first to see its toll plaza come down. goodwin. it is similiar in size to the golden gate... so we have some experience with that size.

(terisa live) as for the bay bridge... that would be the last of the 7 bridges to have it's toll plaza come down, bc of the volume of traffic here.. there are hundreds of toll takers, goodwin says they plan to work with caltrains to figure out how they could be retrained... of course this is not a done deal... the mtc has to give it's green light before this becomes a reality, terisa estacio ( james ) ( james ) bart is in the early

stages of creating a second way for riders to cross the bay. it could be tube... or it might not be. planners are simply calling it a "second transbay rail crossing." we should know more we should know more
