(vicki) we've been telling you about the warning, but it bears repeating... more than 30 people in 11 states have been infected with e-coli from the contaminated lettuce. reporter morgan wright has more. this would be a good thanksgiving to explore that

kale salad... jaydee hanson with the center for food safety says stay away from the caesar salad -because the us centers for disease control is warning that romaine lettuce is unsafe to eat...due to an outbreak of e.coli bacteria contamination... this is the second big outbreak of e.coli in romaine lettuce the cdc says 13 people have been hospitalized -- and 32 people in 11 states have been infected - but hanson expects that number to grow. there's generally 30x as many cases as what they've had reported so what we're talking about is there's 900 cases already in reality the center for food safety says e.coli is naturally found in animal droppings, and the bacteria can find its way into the root system of lettuce - a infection by e-coli can cause kidney failure and even death... they don't know where it's coming from yet - so all romaine lettuce has to be suspecthanson says it could take months to pinpoint where this all started. he says that points out a fundamental problem with america's food supply... we've been telling people to eat more lettuce - and they've been doing itand now lettuce is big business... we're raising the lettuce as an industrial crop and how we're fertilizing it and how we're spraying it... hanson says we should focus more on farm-to-table, and buy local produce whenever possible.in washington morgan wright.

christmas decorationsa few days ago... but when they woke up monday -- everything was gone.. melanie barden has their story.. aj and jennifer firenze decided to decorate for christmas a little early this year.their son landon was sick at home all weekend and they knew it would cheer him up.aj firenze/decorations stolen: "all the decorations that we had in the yard, he picked them out so it's close to his heart, and we love christmas so we got an early start."the firenzes spent all day sunday setting up landon's favorite inflatable characters in their front yard.-nats-but when the family woke up monday morning - they noticed a grinch stole their christmas decorations.aj firenze/decorations stolen (quick): "we were crushed to say the least.//to see it all missing, i mean, it was a bummer."the firenze's got this surviellance footage from their neighbor.it shows someone getting out of a white truck at around 4:30 am and quickly taking the decorations before driving away.they immediately filed a police report.what they got in return was a gift they never expected. aj firenze/decorations stolen: "the police department came together and actually gave us a gift card to home depot so we can pick out some more inflatables and redecorate our yard."the family says the gift card will be used to replace the decorations and keep the

(vicki) thousands of paradise residents are homeless this thanksgiving after the camp fire destroyed their homes. so the town of paradise has teamed up with world central kitchen, sierra nevada brewing, and other local organizations to host a thanksgiving feast for the families.(catherine) the plan is to feed 15-thousand people... to accomplish that.. sierra nevada is planning to cook one thousand pounds of potatoes... more than 800 volunteers will be helpingat various locations throughout chico... meals will also be delivered to red cross shelters. the town of lincoln is also planning a thanksgiving meal for fire victims. (ken) in about four and a half days... nasa's new "insight" spacecraft is due to touch down on mars. it will be the end of a six month journey. right now it is more than 86 million miles from earth... with about 750 thousand miles to go to the red planet. the lander will enter the martian atmosphere on monday at supersonic speed.. before hitting the brakes to land. that's easier said than done... as two thirds of all landing attempts on mars have failed... most recently by a european lander which slammed into the ground in 2016. but if all goes according to plan... the next two years of insight's life will be spent digging into mars and performing various experiments.
