(ryan) the death toll has risen again tonight in the butte county 'camp fire' .. as the rain hampers efforts to find the remains of loved ones .(grant) here are the latest numbers: (grant) 83 people have

died. 563 people are considered missing. more than 18- thousand structures have been destroyed.... nearly 14-thousand of those are single faily homes. the camp fire has burned more than 153-thousand acres. and more progress has been made since last night.... the rain helping in that regard... the fire is now 90-percent contained. and on this thanksgiving - about two thousand fire personnell are still working this fire. never had a holiday like this before.((nats)) boiling hunreds of pounds of potatoes in an old beer kettle...it wasn't a typical turkey day for sierra nevada founder ken grossman...(ken grossman - sierra nevada brewing co.)) "we're glad to be able to help out..thanksgiving is a time when family gets together, i know so many people are displaced we hope to give a little bit of comfort for those folks.:the kettle is another symbol of life disrupted from the camp fire... grossman planned to use it to make beer to celebrate the brewery's anniversary..."when the fires happened and we canceled the event, we figured out we could use it for this." he along with an army of volunteers prepared and served thanksgiving meals for hundreds of fire victims at the brewery. involving 1500 pounds of potatoes... 75 gallons of gravy... a couple thousand pounds of pork.. more than 100 turkeys... and of course, dessert. ((nats)) firefighters also helped out at the brewery...((mark beveridge - calfire)) "what a great opportunity..to see the people that we're serving not in the light of the tragedy that's basically at our footsteps...so right now, this is my family."in the dining room..displaced family, friends, and neighbors gathered and reflected on the fire "it's been absolutely horrendous, but god's going to get us through this. there is a future in paradise, californiawith all of the help from so many organizations.. .they say this experience has given a whole new definition to the word thankful"it just makes you feel like america is great. just that we're here, and we're together." turkey trot' marathon this morning in san jose. (2-shot/grant) as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now, they were thankful to be raising money thankful to be raising money for needy families under clean, clear skies. nats (race begins)the 14th annual applied materials/silico n valley turkey trot hit the streets here in downtown san jose despite worries about rain and unhealthy air. no one happier about that than the event founder carl guardino.carl guardino/silicon valley leadership group "....14 days of smoke alerts from the fires that have been plaguing our state but today some 21,000 folks will help us hit our ambitious goal of raising $1 million dollars for needy families in the bay area..."pounding the pavement from santa clara street to the finish line at sap pavilion, the 5 k walk and 10 k run, which includes many serious competitors, is mostly about amateur athletes working up an appetite in the name of helping the less fortunate.rib fladeboe/san jose "....the proceeds from the turkey trot go to the health trust, the healthy kids foundation, second harvest food banks serving three counties and the silicon valley housing trust..."kathleen king/healthier kids foundation "....we know about 2,000 kids go to school with a toothaches

(grant) a tradition in new york city for more than 90 years, the macy's thanksgiving day parade ushers in the busy holiday ushers in the busy holiday tourism season in the big apple. (ryan) the balloons, the floats, and the bands -- all under tight security measures. karin caifa is in new york city with this report. anyone who came out to the macy's thanksgiving day parade this morning had to contend with very cold temperatures but from the crowds that started forming on the sidewalk three, four hours ahead of the parade start time, they certainly didn't seem to mind. even though temperatures never made it out

of the low to mid twenties, the crowd seemed to be enjoying it all.an estimated 3.5 million people braved the frigid new york city temperatures to enjoy the annual macy's thanksgiving day parade.susan tercero / executive producer, macy's thanksgiving day parade: we've been in cold parades before, this is just a little colder. james o'neill / commissioner, nypd: make sure that you bundle up. hats, gloves scarves -- especially with little kids. you know maybe bring some hot chocolate. it's important that you stay warm. there were a dozen marching bands,and despite early morning concerns about wind, it stayed calm enough that all 16 giant balloons, including fan favorites like chase, charlie brown, and the grinch, were able to fly.nearly eight- thousand performers participate in the annual event, including dancers, cheerleaders, and clowns, all bringing holiday cheer as they make their way down the 2.5 mile parade route that ends at the macy's flagship store on 34th street.the parade is in its 92nd year, marching every thanksgiving since 1924. only taking a three-year break during world war ii.and just like every year, the arrival of santa claus at the end of the parade means the holiday season is officially underway. the nypd was out in force along the parade route, many in uniform, others in plain clothes to make sure that the

lookt what's going on in your neighborhood right now. (grant) kron4's phillip dejgal rode along with san francisco police department to deliver food to those who were unable to have a proper thanksgiving dinner tonight. law enforcement doesn't get the holiday off like many of us do... and, in san francisco, in addition to responding to calls for help... police officers, deputies and fire fighters spent the morning delivering meals to the elderly. kron four's philippe djegal tagged along with the san francisco police department. (philippe) annually, on thanksgiving... the line stretches outside the lady shaw senior center in san francisco's chinatown... where thousands of people sit down for a free holiday meal. officer dexter tsang/sfpd- "we want to help people out." but for the elderly who couldn't make it out of their homes...nats- "we have thirteen total meals to deliver." san francisco sheriff's deputies, fire fighters and police officers brought the meals to them. nats- "one, that's 64." officers alan katz and dexter tsang made more than a dozen deliveries throughout chinatown and north beach.

(ryan) on the peninsula... san bruno police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run investigation. police say on monday they responded to a crash in the 23-hundred block of rollingwood road. when officers arrived they learned a ford mustang hit a parked car and the driver had taken off. during their investigation polcie identifed the driver as 29-year old jhovanny hernanadez. hernanadez was in the process of leaving the area in a rideshare vehicle when polcie located him. he was arrested and booked into the san mateo county jail. (grant) sonoma raceway has gathered more than 62- hundred pounds of food for its

thanksgiving food drive. the donations will go to 'friends in sonoma helping' ... or fish... and the 'redwood empire food bank' in santa rosa. the food from sonoma raceway is used for fish's holiday food basket program. the baskets contain fresh eggs, produce and a $25 gift card. organization made sure that even those less fortunate could enjoy a meal as well. (grant) kron 4's sanaz tahernia went to salvation army in san francisco today where volunteers were up early cooking those meals. while many of us spend thanksgiving eating a warm meal with our family and friends - there are some that aren't so fortunate, but the salvation army here in san francisco makes sure that no one is left out."we are in the process of preparing 4,000 meals, that are going to be delivered to homeless and homebound people here this morning so they can enjoy a thanksgiving meal with their families."the organization came to san francisco in 1883, and they've been serving thanksgiving meals to those who are less fortunate since day one"we take meals to people where they're at - we'll take them to folks that are homebound or take them to people where they are in their homes, and we'll just deliver a meal to them."but the people to whom they deliver, are receiving more than just a meal "that meal is significant in many ways. it let's people know that there is a caring

progress on the fires, heavy rains are forecasted over the next few days. that could cause flooding and mudslides for some areas. the camp fire has already claimed at least 83-lives.... more than 500-people are still unaccounted-for. (grant) celebrity chefs, guy fieri & jose andres are cooking up 7,000 pounds of turkey for camp fire evacuees and firefighters. fieri sent out a tweet early this morning before he fired up the smokers. we are off and cookin at 5 am. goin' for 7000 lb of turkey on 6 smokers! fieri thanked those who sponsored the meal including lowes and world central kitchen. a couple hours later he posted a picture of him with the first responders saying the bave firefighters of cal fire.

quarterback aaron rodgers is taking a break from the gridiron to support his hometown. in a video posted to twitter -- rodgers urges americans to support the victims of the deadly california wildfires. rodgers makes a plea for donations to help people displaced -- including those who are now living in his hometown of chico. but the n-f-l star isn't just asking -- he's also giving. rodgers is donating one million dollars to help the communities rebuild. the funds don't stop there -- state farm insurance will donate one dollar for every retweet of rodgers' video -- up to one million dollars. consultant chris hudson, with c-2 financial says this type of loan is only available to the older population.chris hudson/mortgage consultant- "a reverse mortgage is just that -- it's when we're now monetizing equity in our home, either in a lump sum or on a, on a monthly basis, if you will. you can kind of think of it like an annuity." this form of a loan is tailored for people 62-years-old and older -- looking to buy a home or already have a home and need another stream of income.chris hudson/mortgage consultant- "it's just like what it says, instead of me paying the bank, the bank is paying me, um, out on an ongoing basis." the interest rate on a reverse mortgage fluxuates based on the market and can sometimes be much higher than a traditional mortgage. interest that also compounds over the term of the loan, eventually leading some borrowers to see the loan exceed the actual value of the home.chris hudson/mortgage coultant- "they've come to a point in their lives where they're not retired, but they don't necessarily have enough income coming in to kind of help all their basic monthly expenses on a monthly basis." the federal trade commission says borrowers can not escape paying homeowner's insurance or property taxes with a reverse mortgage... though the money the borrower receives is typically tax-free. this continues until the borrower sells the home, moves out or dies. in theory, the f-t-c says the loan is then repaid with the sale of the house. meaning less assets to leave behind to your heirs. philippe djegal, kron four news.

(ryan) a new government report on the climate will be out sooner than expected. the report on the human impact of climate change was scheduled to be released in december-- but the 'national oceanic and atmospheric administration' announced the date was moved up to tomorrow. it's unclear why the date was changed, but there's speculation it's an attempt for it to be buried on black friday -- a day when few people will be paying attention to the news. representatives from noaa and the commerce department haven't responded to requests for comment. (ryan)in the east bay... a fire broke out this morning at the port of oakland.the fire was reported at 8:14.three big rigs and a trailer went up in flames.no reports of any structures burnong in the fire, and no reports of any injuries.no word yet on the cause of the fire, either. (pam) a series of major construction fires have hit the east bay over the last year and now police are announcing an arrest in at least one of them... this arrest is in connection to a fire at a construction site in oakland last month. 45-year old part- time construction worker dustin bellinger ... has been charged with starting a fire on october 23rd... on the 3200- block of peralta street. that same morning, another intentionally set blaze destroyed a nearby 126 -unit

building that was also under construction. prosecutors have not charged bellinger with that fire, nor said if he is a suspect. he is being held without bail in the santa rita jail.
