(áásidebarááá) (áásidebarááá)( robin ) the butte county the camp fire is now completely contained at almost 154,000 acres. many of our local fire teams are back home or making their way back home from paradise. the massive fire began the morning of november 8th on camp creek road near the town of paradise and has since become the most destructive wildfire in california history. the butte county sheriff's office and cal fire have reported 85 fatalities and 296 people unaccounted for. the fire destroyed

18,000 structures in and around paradise. (áásidebaráá)( robin ) good news from southern california too. the woolsey fire is also fully contained. it burned over 95-thousand acres... three people died that fire. ( robin ) fema representatives stepped in to help victims this weekend during a town hall meeting held in roseville. fema officials have been registering fire victims for disaster assistance. several other organizations also took part in the town hall. including cal fire and the sheriffs department.

american red cross is accepting donations. you can check kron 4.com for reuben reuben foster's arrest and release from the 49ers has been the talk of the city this weekend. he's now out of police custody and without a team after his arrest for domestic violence. ( robin )kron 4's alecia reid caught up with fans watching the 49-er's game at ricky's sports bar in san leandro .... and has ther reactions. everyone deserves their day in court.and reuben foster was released from jail on his own recognizance.the young man needs to get his life together, make some better choiceswhile fans watched the 49ers play the tampa bay buccaneers sunday, there was

one player missing ... and after this domestic violence charge ... he won't be coming back.i dont blame the 9ers. they shouldve let him go. especially with his track recordright before the game against the buccaneers, the 49er organization cut the linebacker from the team. we're only getting bits and pieces of what happened, but from what i understand it's the same young lady he was with before so the organization has to cut their ties to maintain their integritywe encountered some die hard niner fans that have been following foster's career ... who say ...reuben's had a difficult childhood, a very difficult upbringing. he's had a couple domestic violence incidents. this is the second one we know of with this particular female. so it's gonna be tough for him to rebound. he's gotta get his life togeher off the field before anything else.fresh out of jail, the 24 year old has no team, but some feel this isn't the end for him.i think

he'll get picked up again. i doubt it'll be this season. but i think if he gets the proper help. hopefully his support staff will help him get the help he needs so he can make better decisions so someone will ick him up again. he's very talented.he's gotta figure it out if hes gonna have a successful career in the nfl. otherwise he'll just go by the waysidethe woman foster has been dating on/off for the last 3 years claims he slapped the phone out of her hand, shoved her in the chest, then slapped her across face. due to the climate of our country, women are not believed and that's a concern of mine.he's got some issues off the field. that's why he dropped to 31 in the draft. reporting from san leandro ... ar ... kron 4 news. police say the attack happened early sunday morning.kron4's dan thorn is has more on how neighbors are reacting. neighbors say this stretch of blake street in south berkeley is generally quiet..but a sunday morning attack has them on alert..sot: i havent really hear about break-in's let alone assaults like that.. jewell soriano says police combing through her neighborhood looking for a suspect is not typical..she says she's a bit shaken to here about that type of violence in this area..sot: kinda scary because i live pretty close..for others it's not as surprising..sot: i have like a friend who had their place broken into like three times or something insane so it does happen it's just like word of mouth you don't really hear about it as much..angela wang and her friend abraham chen say any crimes near their neighborhood is concerning.. however, they preach awareness of your surroundings..sot: on the whole berkeley is pretty okay if you're conscientious of where you're going an how

( robin )police say the suspect is an african-american man in his 20s to 30s. anyone with information about this incident is asked to call berkeley police. ( robin ) and in oakland saturday -- c-h-p responded to a d-u-i crash after recieving several calls of a black nissan rogue driving recklessly on 580 near lakeshore avenue. they say the car took out an electrical box, drove over the sidewalk & curb, and crashed into a parked car which was parked at a gas pump at the 76 gas station. several officers, paramedics, and firemen responded to the scene. luckily, the parked car had no one inside. a woman in the black nissan rogue was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. the driver was

arrested for dui more than twice over the legal limit and driving while on a suspended license for a previous dui, and was booked into santa rita jail. ( robin ) a tiburon woman who died after crashing into a parked california highway patrol vehicle in sausalito this weekend has been identified as 72-year-old laura lee pino. police report say pino was driving on southbound u.s. highway 101 near the spencer avenue off- ramp at 8 in the morning when her 2003 toyota corolla hydroplaned and slammed into the chp car. two chp officers had stopped in the area to help an suv driver whose vehicle had spun out and blocked the slow lane of the freeway, they were placing flares at the scene when one officer saw the toyota hurdling toward them. the officer was able to jump into the back seat of the chp vehicle and avoid being hit by the car, according to the chp.

the officer was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.the chp is investigating the crash. ( robin )long time bay area journalist and radio host -- ray (tally-a-fare- oh)taliaferro -- is missing. the 79 year old was last seen in kentucky more than two weeks ago.kron4's michelle kingston spoke to some of his former co-workers. michelle kingston, mkingstonnewsi just spoke to the paducah kentucky sheriff -- who says taliferro and his new wife of just six months were out there looking at property she had inherited.. she told law enforcement when she was walking the property she turned around and ray had left in their rental car.pat thurston, kgo radio"i'm worried. i'm really worried. ray taliaferro -- a man many call a san francisco legend -- reported missing in paducah kentucky on november 10 ... he's a man that many people listened to on kgo radio in the bay area for years.friends say he was also the president

thanksgiving travel week ended the same way it all began with flight delays and cancellations. thousands of bay area fliers were at s-f-o sunday for what's traditionally one of the busiest days for travel. kron 4's gayle ong has more.

traveler: "i'm much happier to be back in the bay.">emily angelotti expected her flight from detroit to be delayed..but it was smooth sailing on what's considered to be one of the busiest day for travel.the sunday after thanksgiving.t-s-a predicted 2-point-7 million travelers will be flying home on sunday. airport duty manager maria buico (boy-co) says they were prepared.. winter storms in the midwest caused more than a dozen flight cancellations and more than 200 delays at sfo most flights to and from chicago and kansas city.but we found quite a few passengers

who missed the storm by a hair..and one bay area resident who was not so lucky.. ha luong's (lue-wah)/flight to chicago got cancelled.sfo had an average of two to three hour delays to ( robin ) the golden gate ferry will run a normal schedule today... just in time for the start of the work week. a spokesperson for the golden gate bridge made the announcement in a tweet sunday night. this comes after the major ferry accident on friday. the investigation for that crash is ongoing. ( robin )nasa's insight is making its final descent towards mars.the spacecraft is expected to land on the surface of the red planet

later today.insight is the first mission to study the deep interior of mars.it launched from vandenberg air force base on may 5th of this year.insight will study mars in hopes of learning how celestial bodies with rocky surfaces - including earth - formed. an alabama family is demanding accountability and justice --after a police officer shot and killed a 21- year-old they thought was running from the scene of an altercation inside a mall in suburban birmingham. demonstrators gathered outside the mall through the weekend to demand answers.kim hutcherson has more. benjamin crump / family attorney: "it was the night they were just completely devastated."a family mourning the loss of one of their own -- emantic fitzgerald bradford junior.april pipkins / victim's mother: "thanksgiving will never be the same for me. that's the last time i saw my son."the 21-year-old was fatally shot by a police officer inside a suburban birmingham, alabama, shopping mall on thanksgiving night. emantic fitzgerald bradford sr. / victim's father: "it hurts me to the core. my son is gone, i can't get him back. you villify my son like he's a straight criminal."authorities claimed bradford was involved in an altercation and opened

( robin ) it was a big weekend for college football. with a lot of universities playing their hotly contested in-state rivalries. but for one powerhouse school, they had to use a unique method to get their field ready for the game. this was the scene at bryant-denny stadium saturday morning. the university of alabama used two helicopters to dry off the field before their clash with auburn university. alabama ended up winning that game comfortably by more than 30 points. ( darya ) according to court records... the victim is foster's on-and-off again girlfriend who he has had a history with after he was arrested in february following an incident at his home... those charges were dropped after she said she lied about the incident. ( james ) in the east bay... a woman was robbed and sexually assaulted at her home in berkeley. police say a man broke into the home around 6 yesterday morning at an apartment along the 24- hundred block of blake street. police are still looking for the attacker. neighbors say they are on high alert after the attack saying it does not usually happen in their neighborhood but we talked to one resident who says she isn't surprised. < i have like a friend who had

( darya ) police in san leandro are investigating a body that was pulled out of the water near the san leandro marina. a passer-by walking the bay trail near the marina called police around 3:30 yesterday afternoon after finding the body. polcie say there was no initial suggestion of foul play and

they were unsure how long the body was in the water. the body has been turned over to the alameda county coroner's office for indentification. ( darya ) a tiburon woman who died after crashing into a parked california highway patrol vehicle in sausalito saturday has been identified as 72-year-old laura lee pino. police say pino was driving on southbound on 101 near the spencer avenue off- ramp at 8 in the morning when her 2003 toyota corolla hydroplaned and slammed into the c-h-p car. two c-h-p officers had stopped in the area to help a driver whose vehicle had spun out and blocked the slow lane of the freeway. they were placing flares at the scene when one officer saw the toyota coming toward them. the officer was able to jump into the back seat of the chp vehicle and avoid being hit by the car. the officer was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. ( james ) new this morning... three juveniles have been arrested after leading martinez police

on a 13-mile chase in a stolen car. the cahse happened yesterday... these are pictures after the juveniles were arrested. police say the car involved in the chase was reported stolen on november 19th. a license plate reading camera on alhambra avenue captured the car... and that's when polcie attempted to pull the car over. but the driver led police onto highway 4. a few miles east of hercules the car hit a curb destroying the right front tire... that's when the car came to a stop and the juveniles were arrested. bay... oakland police have arrested a woman for d-u-i of more than twice the legal limit after she crashed into a parked car. c-h-p responded to a crash after receiving several calls of a black s-u-v driving recklessly on 580 near lakeshore drive. they say the car took out an electrical box.. drove over the sidewalk and crashed into a parked car at a gas station. no one was in the parked car. the driver was also arrested for driving with a suspended license for a previous d-u-i and booked into the santa rita jail. ( darya ) in national news... an alabama family is demanding accountability and justice after a police officer shot a killed 21-year- old they thought was fleeing the scene of a fight inside a mall. the shooting the shooting happened thursday night inside a suburban

birmingham mall. police thought emantic fitzgerald bradford junior was involved in the fight and opened fire inside the mall... injuring two people. police initally said the officer shot bradford because he was armed and appeared to be fleeing the scene. but now officers say new evidence suggests bradford likely did not fire the shots... and least one gunman is still at large. through the demonstrators outside the demand justice ( james ) today former trump campaign adviser george papadopolous is set to start his 14-day prison sentence for lying to federal investigators in the russia probe. papadopoulous had asked a federal judge twice in the last ten days to pause his sentence. but the judge denied both of his requests yesterday. he said papadopoulos hadn't filed any court appeals within the window he was allowed. papadopoulos will surrender at a correctional camp this morning in wisconsin. in addition to his two-week prison sentence... he must pay a 95-hundred dollar fine... serve a year of probation and do 200 hours of community

weekend drew bargain hunters out to the stores... but for some in butte county.. those deals are helping them replace what was lost in the fire. camp fire evacuees were seen at the roseville galleria looking for deals. the manager at macy's says they are giving away so called disaster assistance vouchers that range from 10-percent to 30-percent back to hose affected by the fire. one woman spent the weekend shopping for a family that is staying with her through the holidays so she wanted to help them restock their closets. most stores at the mall were offering extra discounts to fire evacuees. involved in the crash is still being repaired so officials with the golden gate bridge district say they are down one ship.but to maintain the schedule one of the other six other vessels will be used and the schedule will remain the same.the crash happened on friday at two in the afternoon - 53 passengers were abroad the larkspur - san francisco ferry.two people were injured and treated on scene.the investigation into how and why the ferry crashed into the dock is ongoing.ferry managment met over the weekend to understand what happened and discuss how to avoid this from happening in the future. many people on board during the crash say there was no warning during the crash - we'll be talking to passengers this morning here at the ferry terminal.i'm live in san francisco, sara stinson, kron four news.###

( darya ) the oakland diocese is delaying its release of the names of all clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. back in october, the diocese said it would release the names in the coming days. now it wants to contact all survivors in advance of the public announcement. the oakland diocese says it also wants to spend more time verifying the information that they have on priest from religious orders and from other dioceses. the newsletter is now expected to

come out at the beginning of next year. ( james ) in southern california the woolsey fire is 100-percent contained. the fire burned more than 96- thousand acres and killed three people. there are still mandatory evacuations in place in ventura county. ( james ) some victims of that fire are now filing lawsuits. they are blaming the local utility for sparking the fire that destroyed their homes. patrick mcnicholas is one of the attorneys representing victims of the woolsey fire against socal edison. they held a town hall meeting over the weekend to talk about victims rights, insurance coverage and steps toward rebuilding. mcnicholas says his firm has hired experts to help them prove socal edison caused the fire. ,

( james ) some of the victims say they know that litigation could take up to two years, but they say it is worth the wait. ( darya ) a resident in modesto made a gruesome discovery over the weekend after finding human remains buried in their backyard. the resident says they were digging a hole to bury a family pet when they discovered the decomposed remains. the stanislaus county sheriff's county confirmed the remains were indeed human and they say its probably been there for months. detectives are considering this incident a possible homicide. ( darya ) concord police need your help identifying a man caught on camera stealing a package. they say he was on a bike riding around the neighborhood before coming to a front porch to take a package. if you have any information about the suspect call concord police.police. concord police. is facing charges this morning after concord police say he ran onto the roof of an apartment complex to avoid being arrested. police say 42-year-old kevin villatoro was on the roof of the building on hillsborough court. officers were there to arrest two people at the location when villatoro ran to the roof. a chp helicopter helped police find and arrest the suspect. ( james ) a few lucky passengers were able to get through s-f-o on time during sunday's big travel day following the thanksgiving holiday. t-s-a predicted that 2-point-7 million travelers would fly home on sunday. airport duty manager maria buico (boy-co) says they were prepared.. yesterday more than a dozen flights were canceled and more than 200 flights delayed. but with the thousands of travelers at s-f-o most flights were running on time.

the devastation in the camp fire.( darya ) a nurse in walnut creet is among the people who went to help out in the fire zone. she shared

her experience with kron 4's philippe djegal. (philippe) in the past year... walnut creek native tammi bachecki (buh-check-ee) has traveled to puerto rico... volunteering her services as a nurse to victims of hurricane maria. last month, she was in florida helping those devestated by hurricane michael... and, for the past week, she's been stateside -- in butte county... supporting families in chico, who lost everything in the camp fire.tammi bechecki/nurse- "a lot of what we were seeing, you know, from the medical standpoint, were patients with asthma, that have, or copd, that were having exacerbations from the smoke due to the air. air quality in the bay area was horrible, but in chico, it was so, so thick, um, you could barely see the sun." and, although bachecki makes her living as a registered nurse here in the intensive care unit at kaiser permanente's walnut creek medical center... she says what she was emersed in in butte county... will stick with her forever... and, that it was an emotionally draining

experience.tammi bechecki/nurse- "a lot of tears, a lot of hugs, um, and then you know, a lot of smiling through the tears as well. a lot of the people in the shelter, knew they were in a dire situation were trying to make the best of it." tammi drove up to chico a week ago -- part of a team of 11 nurses and one nurse practitioner representing national nurses united's registered nurse response network. bechecki returned to the bay area thursday night. tammi bechecki/nurse- "and, actually a couple of the nurses, uh, have actually gone back up to continue to help. they had some time off work." she wishes these natural disasters were less frequent. tammi bechecki/nurse- "all of these hurricanes and fires and flooding, is you know, that just shows us global warming is happening and we need to do something about it because people are dying." and, she's tired of seeing it happen on her watch.tammi bechecki/nurse- "you know, i always kind of give myself a little time to kind of regroup, reenergize before going out again, and unfortunately, uh, you know, there will be a need again --

( darya ) a big story this morning out of southern california ... where hundreds of migrants tried to cross into the u-s. that led to the brief closure of a major port of entry in san diego.( james ) witnesses say it was chaotic scene ... where nearly 5- hundred migrants rushed the border. border patrol officials say they used tear gas to disperse would-be

crossers in response to agents being hit with rocks. no border patrol agents were injured in the chaos.the rush of migrants led authorities to suspend all crossings between san diego and tijuana for a few hours. ( darya ) more than three-dozen people were arrested at the border. mexican officials say the migrants who tried to enter the u-s sunday will be deported. ( james ) the mayor of tijuana said he wouldn't let the migrants' actions damage the city's relationship with the u-s. he is calling for the mexican government to help with the situation. president trump responding this morning to the incidents at the u-s mexico border saying in part... they are not coming into the u-s-a. we will close the border permanently if need be. congress fund the wall!. ( darya ) in the east bay... oakland police have arrested a woman for d-u-i of more than twice the legal limit after she crashed into a parked car. c-h-p responded to a crash after receiving several calls of a black s-u-v driving recklessly on 580 near lakeshore drive. they say the car took out an electrical box.. drove over the sidewalk and crashed into a parked car at a gas station. no one was in the parked car. the driver was also arrested for driving with a suspended license for a previous d-u-i and booked into the santa rita jail. ( james ) a big story this morning... the camp fire in butte county is now 100-percent contained. the massive fire began the morning of november 8th near the town of paradise and has since become the most destructive wildfire in california history. the butte county sheriff's office and cal fire have reported 85 people have been killed by the fire and nearly 3-hundred people are still unaccounted for. the fire destroyed over 18- thousand structures in butte county.( james ) crews from the folsom and sacramento fire departments spent nearly three weeks on the front lines of the camp fire. now they're back home ... and sharing stories with marc thompson. the folsom strike team arrived at the camp fire thursday afternoon, just as the blaze was tearing throughout town.mark piacentini/div. chief folsom fd: "basically our primary

( darya ) in national news... an alabama family is demanding accountability and justice after a police officer shot a killed 21-year- old they thought was fleeing the scene of a fight inside a mall. the shooting happened thursday night inside a suburban birmingham mall. police thought emantic fitzgerald bradford junior was involved in the fight and opened fire inside the mall... injuring two people. police initally said the officer shot bradford because he was armed and appeared to be fleeing the scene. but now officers say new evidence suggests bradford likely did not fire the shots... and police say at least one gunman is still at large. through the weekend, demonstrators gathered outside the mall to demand justice ( james ) coming up next...why the oakland dioceses is waiting to release the names of the clergy accused of sexually abusing

( darya ) speaking of deliveries . the u-s postal service will start delivering mail as early as 5-30 in the morning. the change is happening in the coming weeks. it comes as the u-s-p-s ramps up package deliveries for the holidays. the postal service projects a double digit increase in package volume this year. saying more than 900 million packages will be delivered between thanksgiving and new year's day. and this year it is shifting focus from the busiest day to the busiest week. which they say will be december 17 to the 23-rd. ( james ) happening today...investigators are expected to meet with the wife of long time bay area journalist and radio host, ray taliaferro (tally-a-fare-oh). the 79-year-old went missing earlier this month. he was last seen at a pizza restaurant in paducah kentucky more than two weeks ago. deputies say he and his new wife of six months were out there looking at property she had inherited.. she told law enforcement when she was walking the property she turned around and ray had left in their rental car. the sheriff's office says they do not believe he has a cell phone or any credit cards with him. taliaferro is a legendary broadcaster who many listened to on kgo radio in the bay area for years.

backtracking from its initial announcement that it would be transparent and it would make public all the names of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors... the oakland diocese is now publishing in it's newsletter to parishioners that it is pushing back it's publication to after the first of the year... it states the reasons are two fold... one that it is essential to contact all survivors in advance of a public announcement... and two quote... it is important we spend more time verifying the information we have on priests from religious orders and from other dioceses who served in the oakland diocese... rection was strong and swift... i reached out to kathy stonebraker... who recently shared at length her story... accusing james keenan of years of abuse. she is now suing the diocese and james keenan, who left the church.. in a

statement, kathy said quote " this is unacceptabale and once again, the holy see, bishops, cardinals, oakland docese are to be accountable and i will continue to speak and fight for all kids... her attorney... also had a scathing reaction to the delay...
