( terisa ) the white house says president donald trump has agreed to maintain the ten percent tariffs on 200 billion dollars' worth of chinese goods....rather than raising them to twenty five percent. in exchange, china has agreed to purchase a quote very substantial amount of agriculture and energy goods from the u-s. the two countries will also immediately begin negotiations on top u-s concerns, including forced technology transfer and cyber theft. if an agreement is not reached within 90 days, the 10 percent tariffs will rise to 25 percent. china is also expected to reclassify

than 230 earthquakes have hit parts of alaska since friday's 7-point-zero quake knocked out power and ripped open roads near anchorage. take a look at this damage. roads buckled under passing cars and grocery store products tumbled from shelves. thankfully, no fatalities or serious injuries were reported. helicopters and drones are assessing infrastructure across the region. alaska's governor has issued a disaster declaration as the state deals with dozens of aftershocks. city officials say some of friday's aftershocks were strong. ( terisa ) the aftershocks include a magnitude four-point-zero quake centered near big lake. that's more than 60 miles north of anchorage. many seismologists say these

aftershocks will remain part of alaska's quake climate for months and possibly even years. ( terisa ) a family is calling for a group of officers to be fired after they were caught on camera striking a man in memphis. police have launched an investigation after officers were seen punching yasin bashir at least 15 times while he was handcuffed on the ground. it happened thursday night. police say they first got involved because bashir was panhandling and attacked a downtown security officer who tried to stop it. things escalated from there. bashir appears to kick at them and then one officer starts punching him. memphis mayor jim strickland says he the city's police chief made the right decision in launching an investigation.

and demanded the victim show her id.then investigators say latta cut up the id and threw it away. that's when they say she ordered the victim outside, up against a wall, and made her spread her feet as she searched her.judy barrier, bar patron:"at that point there was inappropriate touching or even groping." police say latta told the woman she wouldn't arrest her if she left and didn't come back.tony baskharon owns the cigar shop two doors down.he says he has seen latta a couple of times outside his store begging for cigarettes. tony baskharon, cigar store owner:"we used to kick her out bc of the way she'd act. she act crazy."reporter: "what would she do?""she would kick cars, like a bmw parked right there, she would kick the tires."police arrested latta yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual battery and impersonating a police officer. they say she had fake law enforcement weapons with her. lt. bob wright, dept.:"that's the scary she had a couple stun guns, several badges, to make herself look official. just stuff that appears to be law enforcement style." (terisa)in the north bay... novato police are looking for a man who frightened some young girls as they walked to their elementary school. as kron four's philippe djegal reports... the man followed the students into the school parking lot. (philippe) no matter the neighborhood...erika harris/neighbor- "most of the parents walk their kids to school." or, how peaceful and quiet it typically is... carol haber/neighbor- "nothing is ever 100-percent safe, so you always have to be careful." it only takes one incident to remind a community -- that children are always potentially vulnerable to a stranger, possibly with bad intentions.saundra efron/neigbor- "who knows what he's doing. it's a scary time." on friday, at around 8-30 in the morning... novato police say three girls headed to lynwood elementary school were walking along sunset parkway near leafwood drive... when a caucasian man in his 50's, with long blonde or white hair... drove up to them in a white older model ford truck, repeatedly saying "hey," to get their attention. the girls ignored him and continued to school. but he followed them there, making another pass in the parking lot before taking off. neighbors say the kids handled

themselves well.erika harris/neighbor- "they can always come into my door and tell me that they're being bothered and i will call the police." school resource officers with the novato police department are working elementary school and novato unified school district staff to try to track the man down. at this time, no other similar incidents have been reported.saundra efron/neighbor - "(philippe) it's not clear a crime was committing here, but do you think this guy crossed the line? (terisa)fire evacuees from the deadly camp fire who temporarily stayed at a walmart parking lot in chico... are moving to a new location. one woman says - she still doesn't know what she'll do in the long run. (terisa) the evacuees have been living in a tent city since the camp fire hit the area... but the walmart parking lot does not have facilities to support them. the red cross says they are now moving to the nearby silver dollar fairgrounds. ( terisa ) ( terisa ) police say they've arrested the man who started two fire's in san francisco's financial district. 77-year-old ricard anderson is charged with arson and failing to register as a sex offender. police say he started two separate fires that happened november 12th in the 100 block of kearny street. the fires burned the front door of a retail store and a newsstand near sutter street. anderson was taken to jail and bond was set at 400-thousand dollars. ( terisa )it's been 2-days since former president george h.w. bush passed away. bush actually visited the bay area a few times during his term in the white house. his most notable visit was after the loma prieta earthquake in 19-89. kron 4's

dan thorn talked to former mayor art agnos who remembers the president as kind and caring. the 1989 loma prieta earthquake rattled the bay area to it's core..nats.. former mayor art agnos was leading the city of san francisco at the time..agnos says he was unsure of the response the area would get when president bush announced he was coming..sot: his commitment to public service overrode all partisan politcal activities and thoughts..this revelation came as a surprise to the former mayor..as the president toured the hardest hit areas in october 1989.. nats..while also visiting oakland and san francisco--he carefully listened to first responders and city leaders.. sot: he just cared about our city it was clear to me that he was gonna be helpful and he was. president bush promised to deliver on the federal funding needed..days after his visit the president signed a $1.1 billion dollar disaster

are hearing from breweries who are coming together to raise money for the victims of the deadliest fire in california history. sierra nevada brewing in chico came up with a special recipe called "resilience ipa" to raise money for camp fire victims. they shared the recipe with other breweries ... which stepped up to brew more batches of the beer ... so more money can be raised. ranji sinha spoke with two seattle breweries that joined the cause.

( terisa ) terrifying moments for an 8 year old boy after he was bitten by a shark on a family trip to the bahamas. little asher's mom was recording on her phone when the shark bit his back. they say crews said it was safe to swim with the small nurse sharks. asher's dad was right next to him when it happened and was able to get the shark to release his grip on asher. it's hard to believe...but asher just walked away with a bite on his back and he didn't even need stitches. the family spoke with some shark experts...who say asher may have been targeted because of his light coloring. < apparently sharks see yellow

tragedy. kron 4's sanaz tahernia joins us now live in the studio with the latest. sanaz. (sanaz) it's a dark day for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the fire as i'm sure the anniversary is sparking intense memories and emotions. it was 2 years ago today that the ghost ship warehouse in oakland burned to the ground killing 36 people in one of the deadliest building fires in the united states. the two men that prosecutors say are responsible for the blaze - 48-year-old derick almena and 28-year-old max harris - will be facing trial after judge james cramer rejected the plea deal that the prosecutors and defense reached a few months back. the two men are facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter and the plea deal would have reduced their sentence. under the agreement almena would have received a 9-year-prison sentence while harris would have been given a 6-year sentence - and after hearing both men address the courtroom during their sentencing hearing. the judge rejected the deal on grounds

(sanaz) it's a dark day for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the fire as i'm sure the anniversary is sparking intense memories and emotions. it was 2 years ago today that the ghost ship warehouse in oakland burned to the

ground killing 36 people in one of the deadliest building fires in the united states. the two men that prosecutors say are responsible for the blaze - 48-year-old derick almena and 28-year-old max harris - will be facing trial after judge james cramer rejected the plea deal that the prosecutors and defense reached a few months back. the two men are facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter and the plea deal would have reduced their sentence. under the agreement almena would have received a 9-year-prison sentence while harris would have been given a 6-year sentence - and after hearing both men address the courtroom during their sentencing hearing. the judge rejected the deal on grounds that he felt almena's statement lacked remorse. and because the plea was a package deal, the reduced sentence was rejected for both men. now back on september 25th of this year, oakland city officials posted a 30-day public notice pending demolition of the warehouse. those 30 days have since passed - the notice expired

parts of alaska since friday's 7-point-zero quake knocked out power and ripped open roads near anchorage. take a look at this damage. roads buckled under passing cars and grocery store products tumbled from shelves. thankfully, no fatalities or serious injuries were reported. helicopters and drones are assessing infrastructure across the region. officials have issued a disaster declaration as the state deals with dozens of aftershocks. city officials say some of friday's aftershocks were strong. ( terisa ) the ( terisa ) the aftershocks include a magnitude four-point-zero quake centered near big lake. that's more than 60 miles north of anchorage. many seismologists say these aftershocks will remain part of alaska's quake climate for

( terisa ) a family is calling for a group of officers to be fired after they were caught on camera striking a man in memphis. police have launched an investigation after officers were seen punching yasin bashir at least 15 times while he was handcuffed on the ground. it happened thursday night. police say they first got involved because bashir was panhandling and attacked a downtown security officer who tried to stop it. things escalated from there. bashir appears to kick at them and then one officer starts punching him. memphis mayor jim strickland says he the city's police chief made the right decision in launching an investigation.

moments for an 8 year old boy after he was bitten by a shark on a family trip to the bahamas. little asher's mom was recording on her phone when the shark bit his back. they say crews said it was safe to swim with the small nurse sharks. asher's dad was right next to him when it happened and was able to get the shark to release his grip on asher. it's hard to believe...but asher just walked away with a bite on his back and he didn't even need stitches. the family spoke with some shark experts...who say asher may have been targeted because of his light coloring. < apparently sharks see yellow and he believes the shark thought he was a fish and really thought he was food.
