like, hi, baby. now go over there. >> oprah who turns 65 next week said she was hesitant at first when the girls at her south african academy started calling her mom, but now in a new emotional "people tv" documentary, she started to embrace it. >> they started calling me mom. mom oprah. i feel like they are my daughters. they are the daughters i did not have. this is how having children was supposed to manifest for me. >> "e.t." was with oprah in 2007 when she opened the state of the art school to serve the need of underprivileged girls. one of the first graduates of oprah's academy is featured in oprah's daughters which is streaming now on the "people tv" app and on peopletv come. we're proud to share the fact that she's also one of our colleagues here at "e.t.." tondo is also an associate producer at "e.t." live. >> i want to show you a little video. this is from graduation day. >> oh my gosh.

with, quote, taking care of this little miracle. last year carrie revealed she suffered three devastating miscarriages before this pregnancy. >> i got pregnant early 2017 and it didn't work out. got pregnant again in the spring and it didn't work out. got pregnant early 2018, didn't work out. so at that point it was just kind of, like, okay. like, why on earth do i keep getting pregnant if i can't have a kid? >> she got through it all and i saw first hand how much of a professional carrie remained during this heartbreaking time. >> in 2017, you're going to relax a little bit. take time off. at home. >> there is always stuff to do. i'm in the process right now of remembering what it's like to be human. >> carrie channeled that pain into her album "cry pretty." ♪ cry >> the 30-year-old's tour was put on hold because of the pregnancy. now that she's here, she'll hit
