( marty ) breaking overnight....a man is dead following a shooting in san jose. police say it happened this morning just before 2 a-m on south 10th street and east william street. the victim was taken to a hospital where he later died. no arrests have been made in this case. ( marty ) the longest government shutdown is u-s history is over. and after over a month, close to one million federal workers will finally get paid. president trump signed a bill yesterday that re-opens the government for three weeks, until february 15th. but as natasha chen reports --the president is still holding out on the possibilty of taking executive action to build a border wall. . rep. nancy pelosi, (d) house speaker: "it's kind of a solemn occasion for us because so many people have suffered

for the next three weeks, a coffee shop in alameda is continuing to collect donations to help families in the event of another shutdown. for the past several weeks otto wright's coffee shop has been a donation hub for bay area coast guard families and other furloughed workers. wright says the donated money and food are helping meet some of the need. but his biggest concern is for the families who have not seen a paycheck for over a month, and are facing another possible shutdown in 3 weeks.

setting up for the walk for life march hehere in the civic center plaza.here is some video from previous years...you can see people bring signs.every year thousands of people show up - many anti abortion activists - to rally, march and discuss what they refer to on their website informing society of the damage done to women by abortion.this pro life march has been going on for 45 years since the supreme court legalized abortion nationwide. last week washington d-c held their march and today it's san francisco's turn.the event kicks off with a silent no more awareness campaign with speakers from priest for life. then their is an info faire with tons of booths for people to check out.the rally starts at 12:30 where there will be several speakers.the actual walk starts at 1:30 down here at the civic center plaza where they will march down market street to embarcadero plaza and ferry building.live in san francisco, sara stinson, kron four news.

( marty ) a south bay teacher and track coach is in jail, accused of sexually assaulting two young girls. the 56-year-old is a high school track coach at branham high school. kron 4's gayle ong has more on the allegations. 56-year-old gregory marshall was arrested in san jose thursday and charged with 24 felony counts for allegedly sexually assaulting two

students at valley christian high school.it happened more than a decade ago..both female students were 17 at the time, san jose police say marshall sexually assaulted the victims at work on school property sometime between 2004 and 2005. marshall was the after school track coach at branham high school in san jose.this parent stunned to hear the news. and also owns marshall sports performance and fitness, also in the city.he has been booked in santa clara county jail. ( marty )( marty ) on the peninsula .. police are hoping surveillance video will lead them to the man wanted for groping two women and

shoplifting from a store in mountain view. police say the first groping incident happened monday morning. when a 34-year-old woman was walking on the stevens creek trail near central avenue when she was grabbed by the man. then tuesday afternoon ... police say another woman reported being groped on the same trail. they say the man also stole 100-dollars worth of tobacco products from the walgreens on el camino real. ( marty ) police in san francisco are looking for the two people who attacked a 64-year-old man and sent him to the hospital with head injuries. it happened just after nine-thursday night, in the mission terrace neighborhood, near the intersection of mission street and seneca avenue. police say, two men ran up behind the victim and hit him with an unknown object. the attack fell to the ground and lost consciousness. he was taken to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries. police have not released a description of the suspects. ( marty ) the texas family of the 7-year-old girl who was shot and killed is apologizing after a man was falsely

accused in the investigation. jasmine barnes' aunt says she regrets that the focus following her niece's death shifted to race amid claims of a hate crime. days following the shooting, investigators released a sketch - from descriptions given by jazmine's mother and two of her sisters of a white man wearing a hooded sweatshirt. there was also a red truck caught on surveillance speeding from the scene. investigators now believe the man in the sketch was a witness driving the truck in an attempt to get to safety.

good news for the thousands of people who enjoy going to national parks. in san francisco -- fort funston is run by the national parks service, which is part of the golden gate national recreation area for the past few weeks, only the parking lot there has been open ... and that is thanks to a group of dog walkers who pooled their money and paid the federal government 15- hundred dollars a week. people visiting fort funstun say, they are relieved that the goverment is back open.

area. the problems range from traffic backing up for blocks, and some people who visit the street on foot, leave behind trash.. they also intrude on people's lawns and porches. a few years ago, neighbors went to the city saying something needed to be done. the city transportation authority came up with a plan to create a reservation system and to charge a fee.

fell to a scam. he says he's coming forward in hopes of keeping others from losing money. kron 4's maureen kelly it's the same ring exactly here's the ring that paul pagliuso says was offered to him in exchange for $40 dollars in cash. it happened on sunday after he stopped for gas in yolo county off i-5 after he was approached by a man who he now believes to be part of a team of very prolific con artists. thin guy really really well- dressed, had a female passenger in the back that was really well-dressed with kids. he was talking really fast, kind of urgent and pulling this ring off his finger can i give you this ring for $40 cash i need $40 cash, my wallet got stolen my credit cards and all my cash and i really need $40 cash to get homethe napa resident says he didn't want the ring....but felt compelled to help.seems like the christian thing to do would be to try to help a guy out without getting totally ripped off just in case so i gave them 30 bucks in gas i'll

( marty ) seven friends and relatives of the man charged with the shooting death of newman police police officer -- ronil singh, have been indicted on federal charges for allegedly helping him evade capture. authorities say a federal grand jury indicted the five men and two women with charges of conspiring to harbor an alien." federal prosecutors say gustavo arriaga's two brothers, his girlfriend and four friends conspired to help him evade capture after he allegedly fatally shot officer singh the day after christmas. they say the seven defendants transported and housed arriaga and gave him clothes, money, and a new cellphone. ( marty ) a charter bus carrying members of the stanford track and field team ... caught fire friday ... on northbound interstate- 5 in seattle. everyone on board, including its head coach and about 30 student athletes... were evacuated

( marty ) the c-d-c says people who snuggled with hedgehogs is the cause of a salmonella outbreak. it's affected 11 people in 8 states. back in october 10 of the 11 people said they'd been in contact with a pet hedgehog before they got sick. vets say that hedgehogs that look clean and healthy can carry salmonella. and it can easily spread. symptoms of salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea and stomach cramps. 56-year-old gregory marshall was arrested in san jose thursday and charged with 24 felony counts for allegedly sexually assaulting two students at valley christian high school.it happened more than a decade ago..both female students were 17 at the time, san jose police say marshall sexually assaulted the victims at work on school property sometime between 2004 and 2005. marshall was the after school track coach at branham high school in san jose.this parent stunned to hear the news. and also owns marshall sports performance and fitness, also in the city. he has been booked in santa clara county jail.
