made the same reference in one of his state of the unions. i think that's a big take away because he said i'm only going to work with you if you don't investigate me. >> all right. your impression? >> you know why america is so divided. this was an optic speech. this was given where you saw, and i've been studying politics now for 40 years, i've never seen both sides in a divided congress stand this much and applaud. that's why they crafted this speech. it was very light on actual new initiatives. it was mainly a here's what we can do together kind of speech. they said he wanted to be unifying. yes, he pushed for the wall, that's what he has left to do in this presidency, but what you saw tonight was an effort by the white house clearly to demonstrate that there is common ground. whether ten days from now a shutdown occurs or not, we'll
