they got a call of a head on crash involving a chevy silverado and prius at clarenon road.the chevy was driving northbound when a person driving a prius struck them headon.the man believed to be 20-30 years old was a passenger in the prius and was not wearing a seatbelt - he was ejected from the car.a woman also believed to be 20-30 years old was a front passenger in the prius and died on scene. she was wearing a seat belt.the wrongway driver is a man 20-30 years old - believed to have been not wearing a seat belt - transported to the hospital - he's in critical condition right now.there was two men in the chevy they were transported to s-f general with non--life threatening injuries. it's still unclear what on ramp the wrongway driver got onto the highway. c-h-p is still investigating the crash.listen to c-h-p

richmond - san rafael bridge. they worked through the early morning hours. no new reports of falling concrete on the span. there is a lot of work to be done to fix the problem discovered thusday, which created chaos on the bridge, and bay area highways.. one lane was closed overnight and reopened at 7 a-m. they'll begin working on a permanent fix on monday. ( marty ) ( marty ) repairs could take weeks and will cost about 300-thousand dollars. ( marty ) new this morning...police are releasing more information on the

moments that led to an 11-hour standoff in campbell. it started friday morning, outside a denny's on bascom avenue. police say the suspect pointed a gun at an employee following an argument in the parking lot. police say, the suspect then barricaded himself in the restaurant... officers were able to evacuate all of the employees and customers. police spent most of the day negociating with the man, trying to get him to surrender. at one point they say officers spotted the suspect on the roof of the restaurant before he went back inside. a k-9 helped to eventually bring the suspect out around 4-30. he was taken into custody.. and police are continuing to investigate... ( marty ) happening now ... officials investigating wednesday's gas explosion and fire are looking into p- g-and-e's actions, both before and after a third party company accidentally cut into the gas line. the n-t-s-b- and the f-b-i- are investigating.... kron-4's dan kerman has the story. 8 members of the national transportation safety board began their investigation

( marty ) police are looking for a man who pulled a knife and assaulted a student at a school in alameda. the school was placed on lockdown while police searched for the suspect. kron4's haaziq madyun has the story. a student goes into the campus restroom where he is suddenly attacked by an adult male armed with a sharp objectsot it happened right before classes got started friday at island continuation high school. alameda unified school district spokesperson susan davis says administartors initiated school safety protocals sot

as a precaution several schools in the surrounding area were told to shelter in place while alameda police searched for suspect. one island high school student says the incident unnerved some of his classmatessotalameda high school student: "some kids went to the therapist. they were real shook up. some kids left">island high school has about 85 students. it is an open campus. the school has no on-site security. after a little over an hour the lockdown was lifted. police were unable to locate the man with the knife. investigators have a limited description of the suspectsotthe student suffered a minor

injury was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released. investigators are checking to see if this was a random incident or if there is a possible connection between the victim and the person who assaulted him...in alameda haaziq madyun kron4news ( marty ) four children are expected to be okay following a deadly fire in bakersfield. their mother died in the fire. the family of 38-year-old kristina stratton says she was unable to get the children out of the house because they were upstairs. the children jumped from the second story window and escaped. when firefighters arrived, they were unable to rescue stratton. friends say she will be remembered as a hero. ( marty ) the children suffered minor injuries - and they're already of the hospital. firefighters are still

( marty ) an east bay high school is looking for a new home. silver oak high in hayward operates out of property owned by the y-m-c-a. but, the "y" is now selling the property and rejected the school's offer to buy it. silver oak is a public charter montessori school. students have no idea where they will go to school in the fall ... and the staff is asking for help to find a new location. ( marty ) the hayward unified school district is willing to house the school until it finds a permanent location. in a statement, the y-m-c-a says: "they are committed to providing the best early childhood experience to low income

( marty ) thirty contractors who lost tools during the camp fire - took part in a giveaway at a home depot in chico. it was all part of an initiative to get contractors back to work. organizers say this is a step in the right direction for contractors who want to get back to work.
