breaking overnight --- the contra costa sheriff's office is investigating a homicide. deputies discovered a body in bay point late friday night. and they are still searching for the suspect. no word on the identity of the victim. ( marty ) president trump's controversial move aims to fund the building of a ( marty ) the president recognizes that the process will not be easy. governor newsom has already promised california will sue. kristen holmes has the details from washington.

teachers union says it will announce later today whether it's 3-thousand members will walk out. the union has been negotiating with the oakland unified school district for more than a year- and a- half. a report

with compromise recommendatio ns from a neutral third party was expected friday...and oakland school officials were hoping that report would jumpstart negotiations. but, the education association says, members are not waiting for an offer. the announcement is set for 1:30- this ( marty ) chaos interrupted a performance of "hamilton" in san francisco friday night. this was the aftermath in the minutes following a rush to the exits by many in the audience at the orpheum theatre. police say a woman suffered a medical emergency duyring the performance. it happened at the same time gunfire was heard during the duel scene of the play onstage. some in the audience mistakenly tied the events together, leading to the confusion and "self evacuation." police say 4 people were injured. ( marty ) chicago police have released two suspects in the attack on "empire" star jussie smolette. detectives say they are still investigating. the actor says two men assaulted him in chicago last month and poured bleach on him and placed a noose around his neck. he says they shouted racist and homophobic remarks during the attack. police released a surveliance shot of two persons of interest, taken near the scene. ( marty ) in the north bay... work will continue today to clean up the massive mudslide in marin county. part of a hillside came crashing down overnight on thursday.. demolishing two homes and leaving a trail of destruction.. kron 4's justine waldman has an update on the work ahead... and endless buzz of construction ... all to clear a massive mess a mudslide left behind.it is a huge task, that is just beginning.and there are endless stories of survival..the wilson's woke up to mud, blocking their front door.sot so we said we have to get out a window we got the baby and our go bags we already had packed in case there was a emergency paul bosco escaped the mudslide, that went down feet from his house.sot my wife woke up and

( marty ) one man is dead and another man is seriously hurt after a tree fell onto their s-u-v. the accident happened along highway- 17 in santa cruz county thursday. it caused a pileup of about 10 cars in all.. those in the s-u-v were only ones injured. ( marty ) and it'll be a few more days before county officials know if water at a southern california beach is safe. storms caused trash to pile up on the sand at seal beach. officials say the rain pushed debris from storm drains into local rivers which empty out into the ocean. health officials are warning people to stay out of the water because the bacteria levels are very high. officials are advising beachgoers to wait at least three days after it stops raining before they go back into the water. they will resume testing water quality next week. missing 14-year-old boy. joseph merrell ... was reported missing by his family on tuesday. he is described as about 5- feet- 8 inches tall... 145- pounds with blue eyes and red hair. joseph was last seen wearing a red beanie, a black nascar jacket and blue jeans. and was carrying a skateboard. he was reported to be with a group of friends tuesday around 6:30 pm ... at the arco mini mart on village parkway .. before he went ( marty ) new this morning...firefighters are investigating the cause of an overnight fire in bay point that forced a family out of their home. it happened in the 100 block of hill street just before 4 this morning. the three people inside the home were able to get out safely..the red cross is helping the family this morning. ( marty ) we're learning more about a man in a chicago suburb who shot and killed five people and injured five police officers. this after he was being fired from his manufactoring job. camila

( marty ) one man is dead and another man is seriously hurt after a tree fell onto their s-u-v. the accident happened along highway- 17 in santa cruz county thursday. it caused a pileup of about 10 cars in all.. those in the 10 cars in all.. those in the s-u-v were only ones injured. ( marty ) and it'll be a few more days before county officials know if water at a southern california beach is safe. storms caused trash to pile up on the sand at seal beach. officials say the rain pushed debris from storm drains into local rivers which empty out into the ocean. health officials are warning people to stay out of the water because the bacteria levels are very high. officials are advising beachgoers to wait at least three days after it stops raining before they go back into the water. they will resume testing water quality next week. more about a man in a chicago suburb who shot and killed five people and injured five police officers. this after he was being fired from his manufactoring job. camila bernal has the latest from aurora, illinois. authorities and members of this community, thanking law enforcement, thanking those officers who essentially ran into danger. the police chief saying that those officers had two missions, first to save as many lives as possible and then to find that suspect. she did say that both of those missions were accomplished. finding the suspect was a bit difficult, it took officers about an hour and a half and that is because this is a 29,000 square foot facility but eventually that suspect was found and killed in a shoot out with police. investigators spent the night searching the gunman's home. neighbors shocked to learn what he had done.mary mcknight / neighbor: he seemed very friendly, he said hi to a lot of people that came and went. police say gary martin opened fire at the manufacturing warehouse where he worked. kristen ziman / aurora chief of police: he was a 15-year veteran and information that

downed power lines reduced traffic to a single lane. ( marty ) in san francisco, crews are clearing up what was left behind from the most recent storm. tree trimmers were busy on clarendon avenue friday trying to cut up the remains of several large euycylyptus trees that fell during the storm. one tree crashed into the roof of an apartment at the u-c-s-f student family housing complex. it knocked out power to the area. but we understand no one was hurt. in walton square, yellow caution tape kept pedestrians away from a section of davis street where part of massive monterey pine fell onto the street. ( marty ) one man is dead and another man is seriously hurt after a tree fell onto their s-u-v. the accident happened along highway- 17 in santa cruz county thursday. it caused a pileup of about 10 cars in all.. those in the s-u-v were only ones injured. ( marty ) police in dublin need your help finding a missing 14-year-old boy.

( marty ) new this morning...firefighters are investigating the cause of an overnight fire in bay point that forced a family out of their home. it happened in the 100 block of hill street just before 4 this morning. the three people inside the home were able to get out safely..the red cross is helping the family this ( marty ) we're learning more about a man in a chicago suburb who shot and killed five people and injured five police officers. this after he was being fired from his

manufactoring job. camila bernal has the latest from aurora, illinois. authorities and members of this community, thanking law enforcement, thanking those officers who essentially ran into danger. the police chief saying that those officers had two missions, first to save as many lives as possible and then to find that suspect. she did say that both of those missions were accomplished. finding the suspect was a bit difficult, it took officers about an hour and a half and that is because this is a 29,000 square foot facility but eventually that suspect was found and killed in a shoot out with police. investigators spent the night searching the gunman's home. neighbors shocked to learn what he had done.mary mcknight / neighbor: he seemed very friendly, he said hi to a lot of people that came and went. police say gary martin opened fire at the manufacturing warehouse where he worked. kristen ziman / aurora chief of police: he was a 15-year veteran and information that we have indicates that he was being terminated.police, firefighters and federal agents all rushing to the
