adachi's passing... david herrera --- the san francisco city attorney tweeted: "my thoughts and prayers are with the adachi family (on the his passing.) san francisco has lost a legal giant." san francisco police chief william scott offered his condolences to his family, friends and colleagues in the public defenders office. and --- bart director and former supervsor bevan dufty said it's impossible to imagine city hall without adachi's voice. saying he fought so hard for people who didn't have power or influence --- but they mattered. jeff adachi was 59- years old. contra costa county are investigating a deadly rollover crash. it happened on richmond parkway near parr boulevard. one person was killed in the crash...c-h-p says it happened around 11 last night. the identity of the victim has not been released. ( marty ) its going to take crews severeal months to finish repairs to the richmond-san rafael bridge. they are replacing an additional 31 of the original flexible joints on the bridge's upper deck. a failing joint caused concrete to fall onto the lower deck two weeks ago... forcing a shutdown of the bridge for hours. the replacement of that joint is expected to be completed by march 2nd. after that, they'll begin work on dozens of additional upper deck joints. that work will take place from 9 pm to 5 am... with one lane of traffic remaining open in each direction. the installation of a movable barrier... as well as a bike/pedestrian path... will

never something like this. schmitt got the idea when he passed a billboard with davis police officer natalie corona's picture on it... shortly after she was killed in the line of duty january 10th...colin schmitt, ultra runner--"and, it said badge number 224 so, i was like..i know what we can do with that number. let's do something with that number. let's make a statement with that number." and he has...schmitt set out this morning on a 224 mile run... over 72 hours..this personal trainer at 'get fit davis sport' will run a 17 mile loop around the city.. until he achieves his ultimate goal.colin schmitt, ultra runner--"worse-case scenario i just walk it the rest of the way. if i don't get it by 2-24 that's not going to stop me. i'm going to keep going and finish it."natsashton wolgast is running part of the 224 miles along with her friend... both remember the day officer corona was gunned down... and

friday... while police searched for a suspect in a stabbing investigation. kron 4's haaziq madyun talked to students and nervous parents. the search for a stabbing suspect here on the campus of james logan high school in union city has come to an end sotthis happened friday just before 11am. union city police received a report about a student being stabbed on campus. for the next two and a half hours the school was locked down while police searched for the suspectsot outside a crowd of nervous parents. one mom shows me a text message she received from her daughtersotstudents talk about what is was like being locked inside while police search for the stabbing suspectsot

sudden we get a code blue lockdown. we're just sitting in our class wondering what's going on">sotsotmaking it more difficult is the fact that both the victim and suspect are students at james logansot police say there were two stabbing victims. one taken by ambulance to a local hospital for the injury. the other treated at the scene for a minor injury...in union city haaziq madyun kron4news ( marty ) police are also investigating a stabbing that happened near pittsburg high school. police responded to a home on the 15-hundred block of norton street. the 27- year-old victim was stabbed twice in his upper left shoulder. the man was taken to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries. police say, the victim does not live at

that address. he stopped there and asked the homeowner to call police. officers say there was no danger to students. police are still looking for the suspects. ( marty ) a sentencing date has been set for the two southern california parents who pleaded guilty in a horrific child abuse case. 57-year-old david turpin and his 50-year-old wife, louise, are accused of keeping their children chained to their beds, hungry and filthy. friday, the couple pleaded guilty to at least one count for each of their 13 children -- who range in age from two to 29-years-old. the deal will keep the children from going through the ordeal of being called to testify against their parents.. michael hestrin / riverside county district attorney:"this is among the worst, most aggravated child abuse case i've ever seen. /// the defendants ruined lives. and so i think it's just and fair that the sentence be equivalent to first degree murder." anyone living outside the bay area, an annual salary of $200- thousand dollars means they are doing pretty well. but here, that kind of income means, you are in the middle.. kron fours rob fladeboe has the story. as defined by median household income, the middle class in some bay area cities is simply off the charts. a new study by the personal finance website go bank rates, finds thatamong 200 cities nationwide, five of the top ten cities with highest middle income growth are in the bay area. san francisco tops the list with oakland and fremont close behind. not as surprising, the high cost of living and housing is partly to blame says san jose state ecomonics chair dr. coleen haight.sotdr. colleen haight/san jose state universitythe technology the

dianne feinstein got into a heated discussion friday with some school kids who were asking her to support the green new deal friday. the

middle and high school students representing the "sunrise movement" met with senator feinstein and they posted this video of their encounter with the senator. the group says they are trying to make climate change a key issue. she told the students that the deal is too expensive and would not pass the senate.

( marty ) in national news...chicago police released a mugshot of singer r. kelly. he is scheduled to face a judge later today. kelly turned himself into police and is facing 10-counts of of aggravated sexual abuse against four teenagers. he could face up to 70 years

in prison. the singer's attorney denies any wrong doing by kelly. prosecutors say the charges date back to 1998. ( marty ) a proposed california state law would make it legal for residents to eat roadkill.... senate bill 395 would allow people who accidentally hit and kill wild animals on california roads... to recover the edible portions. but some butchers say you can't harvest much edible meat from roadkill. and the trauma from most deadly crashes makes the meat go bad. california is following more than 20 other states that have already made eating roadkill legal. if passed, the law would go into effect on january first 2021. ( marty ) its going to take crews severeal months to finish repairs to the richmond-san rafael bridge. they are replacing an additional 31 of the original flexible joints on the bridge's upper deck. a failing joint caused concrete to fall onto the lower deck two weeks ago... forcing a shutdown of the bridge for hours. the replacement of that joint is expected to be completed by march 2nd. after that, they'll begin work on dozens of additional upper deck joints. that work will take place from 9 pm to 5 am... with one lane of traffic remaining open in each direction. the installation of a movable barrier... as well as a bike/pedestrian path... will be delayed by at least two months. . ( marty ) san francisco's stockton street near union square is open again.. it was closed for seven years during construction on the central subway - which is taking longer than expected.
