( marty ) a longtime family-owned business in fremont is causing problems with some parents at a neighboring school. the parents say the business is exposing kids to unhealthy pollutants. protestors tell kron four's philippe djegal they want the business

to move. nats- "kids need clean air. kids need clean air." lined up along the sidewalk, crystal dia (dye) and her young daughter join in the protest against tri city rock. crystal dia/mother- "i'm very upset." the dia's and dozens of others who showed up to rally in fremont against the industrial business, wearing dust masks, indicating the breathing problems kids are dealing with that they allege stem from uncovered concrete, dust and dirt piles blowing daily just feet from the stratford school other side of the fence. dia says her daughter has been impacted.crystal dia/mother- "she sometimes say, 'oh i saw a duststorm today, and sometimes she told me the air breathes really bad during the daytime."nats- "dust and the daytime."nats- "dust and particulates blow into the school." bradley angel is the executive director of the non-profit organization greenaction for health and environmental justice. he helped organize the rally. bradley angel/greenaction- "this is pollution that can cause asthma and potentially other health problems. we think they've been, uh, negligent in not controlling

two california men who spent years in prison for crimes they said they didn't commit... are now free. those men, were released thanks to the work of loyola law school students and professors... who found new evidence in their cases. on friday-- 43-year-old michael tirpak walked out of prison for the first time in nearly 25 years... after having his murder conviction vacated. 35-year-old reggie mallard is also a free man -- after serving 16 years in prifor a murder he says he didn't commit. ( marty ) michael tirpak said he counseled younger inmates while in prison and hopes to do similar work now that he's free. he also got married two years ago while behind bars, and is looking forward to starting a new life with his wife. their strike monday morning - there is rain in the forecast but they say they ordered three thousand ponchos to prepare.you can see in the video during days one and two of the strike teachers were joined by parents and students at all 86 schools in the district.the first day 85 percent of the districts teachers stood on the picket lines with signs chanting we want better and fair pay.on the second day that number grew signifigantly as this has truly become a community wide event. teachers are asking for a 12 percent raise to counteract the financial burden they have been facing trying to pay their rent and bills with the current wage. oakland teachers are among the lowest paid teachers in alameda county causing a major retention crisis.the district says they do not have the

alabama governor kay ivey has issued a state of emergency due to flooding from constant rain. more than a dozen counties are hit hard by flooding, tornadoes, and high wind. parts of northern alabama have seen several inches of rain and governor ivey says the ground can no longer absorb it. more than ten inches of rain fell in northern alabama last week. ( marty ) back to our big story this morning... we are waiting on an autopsy report on san francisco public defender jeff adachi. the 59-year-old died friday night near ear coit tower. it is

believed he suffered a heart attack. but now, sources tell kron4 that the san francisco police department is investigating the adachi's death. sources confirm to us they are looking to see if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. ( marty ) adachi was in his 5th term as public defender for san francisco, word of his death prompted an outpouring of condolences from bay area and state leaders... the san francisco medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy to confirm the cause of his death and we will bring that to you as soon as it is released. . ( marty ) the recovery effort for a woman who was buried by a coastal landslide at fort funston in san francisco is now in its' third day. kron 4's sara stinson has the latest details on the search for her body. .

(on cam)agencies are not going to be putting human searchers at rick for a body recovery.">the recovery effort began friday afternoon after a coastal cliffside collapsed on two women in their 20's were walking a dog on the beach at fort funston. san francisco fire crews were able to rescue one woman and the dog - both survived and are okay.crews have been searching for her friend ever since. the national park service monitored the area overnight and in the morning joined about 60 san francisco firefighters and two k-9's to continue their search using heavy equipment such as tractors.crews quickly realized the overnight high tide washed the landslide area away.

ramon is shaken up after an attempted kidnapping..parents of a 13 year old girl told police their daughter was almost lured then grabbed by a man driving around their home. police say this happened friday night around 6 along fallen leaf circle..the teen says the man pulled up in his car and told the girl her dad wanted him to give her a ride. when she turned him down--he then opened the passenger side door and lunged at her..she ran off--hid in some bushes and waited for the man to drive away..she then called her parents to tell them what happened...sot: it is very unusual we don't see a lot of cops in this area..neighbor jeannie toy says she saw the police up the street when she got home from work. toy says this attempted abduction is concerning because she has kids and there's an elementary school next to the neighborhood..sot: it is shocking and surprising..the suspect has been described as an asian indian man between 35 to 50 years old. dark complexion with shaggy hair and a mustache. he also has a light blue circle around one of his eyes..and was wearing a ring with a design of two over lapping snakes on his right hand..the teen told police the man's car was possibly a white nissan hatchback..with a sticker of a star with a

smiling face on the front windshield..some of the license plate was read with the victim making out 7 h m...6 ( marty ) after two days on the picket line, representatives from the oakland teacher's union, and the school district will be back at the negotiation tables. the fact that they are agreeing to talk is a good sign. but if no deal is reached today... thousands of teachers will be back on the picket lines monday morning. teachers are ready to continue their strike monday morning - there is rain in the forecast but they say they ordered three thousand ponchos to prepare.you can see in the video during days one and two of the strike teachers were joined by parents and students at all 86 schools in the district.the first day 85 percent of the districts teachers stood on the picket lines with signs chanting we want better and fair pay.on the second day that number grew signifigantly as this has truly become a community wide event. teachers are asking for a 12 percent raise to counteract the financial burden they have been facing trying to pay their rent and bills with the current wage. oakland teachers are among the lowest paid teachers in alameda county causing a major

on friday-- 43-year-old michael tirpak walked out of prison for the first time in nearly 25 years... after having his murder conviction vacated. 35-year-old reggie mallard is also a free man -- after serving 16 years in prison for a murder he says he didn't commit. ( marty ) michael tirpak said he counseled younger inmates while in prison and hopes to do similar work now that he's free. he also got married two years ago while behind bars, and is looking forward to starting a new life with his wife. back to our big story this morning... we are waiting on an autopsy report on san francisco public defender jeff adachi. the 59-year-old died friday night near ear coit tower. it is believed he suffered a heart attack. but now, sources tell kron4 that the san francisco police department is investigating the adachi's death. sources confirm to us they are looking to see if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. ( marty ) adachi was in his 5th term as public defender for san francisco, word of his death prompted an outpouring of condolences from bay area and state leaders... the san francisco medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy to confirm the cause of his death and we will bring that to you as soon as it is released. . ( marty ) the recovery effort for a woman who y a coastal

landslide at fort funston in san francisco is now in its' third day. kron 4's sara stinson has the latest details on the search for her body. . (on cam)the recovery effort began friday afternoon after a coastal cliffside collapsed on two women in their 20's were walking a dog on the beach at fort funston. san francisco fire crews were able to rescue one woman and the dog - both survived and are okay.crews have been searching for her friend ever since. the national park service monitored the area overnight and in the morning joined about 60 san francisco firefighters and two k-9's to continue their search using heavy equipment such as

tractors.crews quickly realized the overnight high tide washed the landslide area away. n-p-s spokesperson charlie strickfaden says this is a highly unusual situation.(on cam) "the national park service will continue to monitor the conditions to make sure it's safe for their crews, but they will continue to look for the missing woman as long as it takes. in san francisco, sara stinson, kron four news."###

( marty ) the national park service is also investigating the condition of the coast line to see if any of the area needs to be closed for safety reasons. ( marty ) in venezula -- tensions over humanitarian aid is intensifying at the border with columbia. supporters of the opposition leader clashed with venezuelan security forces saturday. they fired tear gas on protesters trying to deliver humanitarian aid from colombia and brazil. three members of congress, raised their hands in the air saturday and started slowly walking towards a human barricade of venezuelan troops when the soldiers fired tear gas at them.- california senator kamala harris was campaigning in iowa about the crisis in venezuela .

( marty ) two people were killed and 300 were injured in saturday's clashes. and at least two members of the venezuelan army defected to the opposition side. ( marty ) opposition leader juan guay-doe will meet with vice president mike pence monday in columbia. the white house confirmed the meeting, but has not released any other details about the meeting. ( marty ) it's a big week for president trump and his administration. three big events happening back- to-back-to-back could have a big impact on the white house. ( marty ) on tuesday --- the house, led by speaker nancy pelosi --- will vote on a resolution to block the president's use of emergency powers to build his long- promissed border wall. while it is expected to pass --- the

president has already promissed to veto the measure. and then wednesday --- the president's former attorney michael cohen will testify publically to the house oversight committee. cohen is expected to discuss the president's business practices, possible conflicts of interest, his taxes and hush money payments. and while that is happening in washington --- the president will be on the other side of the world, holding a second meeting with north korean dictator kim jong-un in vietnam. kim is on the way to vietnam right now --- traveling on his personal train through china. the summit is expected to last through thursday. ( marty ) looks like looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to read paul manafort's sentencing memo from special counsel robert mueller. the federal court had set a midnight friday deadline for the critical filing -- but the deadline came and went... and the report was not publicly released. it's now up to the judge in the case to determine what happens next. the memorandum is the last major requisite court filing in the prosecution of the former trump campaign manager.
