parts of town so it was spared some of the worst damage. ( sara ) ( sara ) officials are also asking anyone who doesn't have a reason to be in guerneville to stay clear for the time being. they want to give residents a chance to clean up first. and we will be keeping an eye on any new potential flooding in the north bay this ( sara ) a tentative agreement has been reached between oakland teachers and the school district... this could potentially end the seven day strike. teachers are declaring victory... with the deal including an 11- percent salary raise. kron 4's gayle ong has more. after seven days on the

picket lines,the oakland teacher's strike is over...the district and the union both announcing friday afternoon, the two sides have reached a tentative agreement..an 11 percent salary increase plus a one time 3 percent bonus for educators.

( sara ) the rain this morning comes just hours after the evacuation orders were lifted in sonoma county... and while the russian river may be below flood levels --- the water level is still high. we're waiting to see how this mornings weather impacts communities like guerneville and forestville that were just beginning the clean-up process friday. people returned home to find a lot of mud, mildew, debris, tree

branches, and damage to many buildngs. luckily downtown guernville sits a little higher than some other parts of town so it was spared some of the worst damage. ( sara ) ( sara ) officials are also asking anyone who doesn't have a reason to be in guerneville to stay clear for the time being. they want to give residents a chance to clean up first. and we will be keeping an eye on any new potential flooding in the north bay this morning. ( sara ) a tentative agreement has been reached between oakland teachers and the school district... this could potentially end the seven day strike. teachers are declaring victory... with

the deal including an 11- percent salary raise. kron 4's gayle ong has more. after seven after seven days on the picket lines,the oakland teacher's strike is over...the district and the union both announcing friday afternoon, the two sides have reached a tentative agreement.. an 11 percent salary increase plus a one time 3 percent bonus for educators.

without a contract since 20-17, according to the union, the starting salary of an oakland teacher is 46-thousand-dollars, higher, livable wages, smaller classroom sizes and more resources were the top reasons for the strike...the teacher's union was seeking a 12 percent pay raise over three years..the new offer - a staggering 7 percent increase..from the district's original offer..district superintendent kyla trammell has expressed the district is in a structural deficit and while the offer is under the district's limit,the money will come from budget cuts..

( sara ) developing news we're also following.... teachers in the san ramon valley unified school district voted to authorize a strike... as their contract negotiations are entering the final stages. 98 percent of teachers voted to give their union the power to eventually call a strike.. áif they don't reach a deal in the near future. the teachers want a larger pay raise than what's being offered... they also are looking for smaller classes and more school nurses. these are things they say wll help not just them... but more importantly

( sara ) in the south bay... police released a sketch of the man they say attacked a woman in mountain view. investigators say this man attacked a runner on the stevens creek trail monday night. the victim says he introduced himself as "jerry"... before he attacked her... and also spoke with a caribbean accent. police say he may also have bite marks on either a hand or a forearm after the woman tried to defend herself. the victim was treated for serious injuries to her face, but is expected to be ok. ( sara ) a man has died in

ferndale, in humboldt county after being swept away in flood waters. the sherrifs office say the man was swept away on the eel river late wednesday night. his body was found the next day. authoritites say the victim was attempting to return home, wading through water that was about five-feet deep. according to officials he got caught in a fast current. three people drove a tractor trailer through the high waters but couldn't reach the man. three children were trapped inside the home but were later rescued by ( sara ) we now know there will be áno criminal charges filed against five san mateo county deputies involved in a deadly tasing incident. kron4's haaziq madyun has new video of the incident... and reaction from the family of the unarmed man ... who was killed. there will be no criminal charges against five san mateo county deputies involved in the october 3 2018 physical altercation and deadly tasing

( sara ) a comedy and a dark thriller hit theaters this weekend, going up against the reigning box office champ, "how to train your dragon: the hidden world" david daniel takes a look. ( sara ) governor gavin newsom spent part of his day friday reading to children in sacramento. it was part of "read across america day." the governor and his wife read to students at washington elementary school. newsom has championed children's isses in the first few weeks of his term... proposing 6- billion dollars in state funds for schools. during his visit, he talked about his own dyslexia and troubles reading as a child. < kinda made me nervous>( sara ) many schools also

( sara ) happening now... we have a traffic update for those still looking to head to tahoe this morning. the latest highway conditions for sierra travelers right now include chain controls on i-80 over donner summit and us 50 over echo summit. chains are required for tahoe basin roadways. highway 89 around emerald bay is also closed. ( sara )( sara ) it's a great snow season for skiers and snowboarders. this year heavenly, northstar, and kirkwood resorts are going to extend their ski season due the record breaking amounts of snow falling in the sierra. heavenly mountain resort will extend their season through april 28th plus 3-day-weekend may 3-5. northstar and

kirkwood will extend to april 21. those three resorts have seen well above 250 feet of snow so far. and more snow is on the way. adlib seven day.
