( marty ) there are no survivors in an ethiopian airlines flight that crashed early this morning. the airline says 157 passengers --- including 8 americans --- and eight crew members were on board the plane when it went down. search and rescue operations are underway this morning. this is the second new boeing 7-37 that has gone down in the last 6 months. but there is no word on a cause for the crash at this point. women's history month... we recognize a woman who helped break barriers in journalism. dorothy gilliam was the first african american female reporter at the washington post. her stories helped give a voice to communities that were often overlooked. brie jackson has the story. she's a journalism pioneer.... "as a first i had to open the doors for some others who would be following."in 1961 dorothy butler gilliam became the first black female reporter for the washington post. at the time the paper was male dominated and-- like the nation as a whole--mostly segregated.gilliam recalled facing unexpected challenges while trying to do her job." because of these outside factors that i had no control over such as the fact that these white cab drivers wouldn't pick up a black woman" despite obstacles, gilliam was driven to succeed.she relied on her skills.. such as short- hand.. to finish assignments on-time.she believed missing
