( marty ) police in san francisco say a 14-year-old girl was walking her dog when she was hit by a car friday night. it happened in the 600 block of john muir drive. tha'ts on the west side of lake merced. the girl was out with her mother when the incident happenend. they both were taken to the hospital...the child has life threatening injuries. ( marty ) four teenagers were hurt in a crash friday morning in santa cruz. they were heading north on la fonda avenue when the driver lost control of the car. police say the 17-year-old driver hit several parked cars. the teens were all taken to the hospital. no word on their condition this morning. police are still looking into the cause of the crash. ( marty ) reports of an active shooter forced dozens

of people out of the century mall in l-a. police initially responded to reports of a man with a gun inside the mall's amazon store around 12:40 friday afternoon. officers say there was no evidence of a shooter following an hours long search. former florida mayor and gubernatorial candidate andrew gillum was in the mall's apple store as the situation unfolded. gillum and his companion were moved to the store's basement along with other customers < in all honesty my heart dropped a little bit i wasn't sure what the situation .. literally sprinting >( marty ) the mall was opened five hours later. police say they are investigating the incident as arson. walking her dog when she was hit by a car friday night. it happened in the 600 block of john muir drive. tha'ts on the west side of lake merced. the girl was out with her mother when the incident happenend. they both were taken to the hospital...the child has life threatening injuries. ( marty ) four teenagers were hurt in a crash friday morning in santa cruz. they were heading north on la fonda avenue when the driver lost control of the car. police say the 17-year-old driver hit several parked cars. the teens were all taken to the hospital. no word on their condition this morning. police are still looking into the cause of the crash. ( marty ) in the east bay...police are looking for the person who fired shots at an oakland high school student. the drive-by shooting happened friday afternoon near the 1000 block of mac-arthur boulevard. witnesses say the shooter fired the gun from inside a black car, no word on the make or model. police did not release information about a motive. the student was not injured in the shooting. ( marty ) the big story around the world today --- continues to be the deadly terror attack at two mosques in new zealand friday. 49 people were killed, dozens more injured. the alleged gunman was arrested and has since made his first court appearance and been charged with 49 counts of murder. the people of christchurch new zealand are coming together now... along with communities around the world... to show solidarity for the victims. kron4's dan thorn has more on the puppy's remarkable recovery despite her rocky experience.. rocky the dog is running around and enjoying life...but just weeks ago the 4 month old chihuahua mix was beaten and left for dead...sot: she was in really bad shape..on february 25th on february 25th rocky was found buried under feet of garbage in dumpster at an apartment complex. the dog was dehydrated and suffering from a severely broken back leg..sot: she was terrified a little shut down.. unfortunately, veterinarians determined the leg had to be amputated. the san francisco district attorney's office says 59 year old ronald louis jones is facing charges of animal cruelty. jones is accused of beating the dog and throwing it down 3 story trash chute..rocky spent 4 days and 4 nights without and food or water...sot: the facts are you know quite atrocious and we are very concerned about what transpired. the puppy got the

name rocky for enduring through this horrible experience. she's now receiving care from a foster facility. she's also getting a new home with a familiar face.. sot: it's me..laughs...my husband and i are adopting rocky. we have room in our household we have one small dog now and we would love for her to have a sister and rocky is gonna be darla's sister.. not injured in the shooting. ( marty ) the big story around the world today --- continues to be the deadly terror attack at two mosques in new zealand friday. 49 people were killed, dozens more injured. the alleged gunman was arrested and has since made his first court appearance and been charged with 49 counts of murder. the people of christchurch new zealand are coming together now... along with communities around the world... to show solidarity for the victims. ( marty ) hours before the attack... the gunman posted a lengthy on-line manifesto on social media and the whole attack was live streamed on facebook. kron 4's gayle ong reports on what social media sites are doing to better police content and hate speech on their platforms. for 17 minutes..the horrific attack in new zealand was live-streamed on facebook for all the world to see.facebook says it removed the video after it was alerted to it by new zealand police.this prompting the big question - why did it take the police to tell facebook...connie guglielmo (gul-yamo) is the

editor in chief of c-net in san francisco.a lengthy manifesto was posted on social media, filled with anti-immigrant, anti-muslim rhetoric and explanations for the attack. guglielmo (gul-yamo) says social media companies are spending a lot of time and energy trying to police their platforms but something slipped through the cracks. twitter said it suspended an account related to the shooting and is working to remove the video from its platform.you tube - which is owned by google tweeting this statement saying it is working vigilantly to remove any violent footage. new zealand police asked social media users to stop sharing the shooting footage as they were seeking to have it taken down. the posts spread like wildfire. i asked c-net why technologies are not keeping up..they said companies will have to get

creative, perhaps use a broadcast delay like what we have ( marty ) there is heightened security at mosques across the bay area in the wake of the new zealand attacks. imama shaikh mohammed fack-ee from the muslim community association in santa clara urged the faithful not to be afraid. in a show of solidarity and support --- armed police officers greeted them arrived. ( marty ) one woman said she

remains fearful that someone might try and harm people here but mosque leaders reported no trouble or threats. ( marty ) the man charged in the new zealand terror attack is an australian citizen... and many australian law makers are weighing in on what happened. but one right-wing senator is facing strong criticism for his interaction with a teenager, after the senator blammed muslim extremists for the terror attack. take a look: ( marty ) as you can see... the senator swung twice at the teenager --- hitting him at least once --- before it was broken up and the boy was pinned to the ground. police say the 17-year-old was arrested... but later released pending further investigation. the australian prime minister says parliament will censure the senator during it's next session. adding that this kind of action by an

( marty ) ( marty ) a woman is searching for answers now that her mother's remains have finally been identified.. caitlyn cj johnson had been looking for her birth mother for decades.... caitlyn was taken away from cindy bilardi cause of her mother's substance abuse and homelessness. bilardi was last seen by her family in 1989.... then in april of 1991 some contruction crews breaking ground at the premium outlet mall in vacaville came across the body of a woman. police had been trying to identify her since then... new technology allowed for a better read of a fingerprint

that investigators initially ruled unsuable. police say bilardi would often hitchhike from san jose to santa rosa....but it doesn't explain how she turned up in vacaville.
