overnight -- in the east bay, the chp is investigating a freeway shooting on highway 4 in concord. it happened around 2 saturday afternoon. the chp was investigating a silver honda that had drven off the road and hit a guard rail on eastbound highway 4 at port chicago highway. officers found bullet holes on the driver's side door. the woman behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene. she was the only person in the car. the chp hasn't released her name nor a motive. ( marty ) a man is in the hospital after he was shot in the head early this morning in oakland. police found the victim at 96th avenue and sunnyside street. the shooting happened just after one a-m. no word on the victim's condition. police have not arrested any suspects. ( marty ) the family of ( marty ) the family of a vallejo man shot and killed by police says he was not alert at the time of his death. 20-year-old willie mccoy was killed last month at a taco bell drive-thru. ( marty )

last week, mccoy's family viewed the police body cam video from that night. they're now calling for the public to see it as well. kron4's dan thorn spoke with mccoy's family members the family of 20 year old willie mccoy says the aspiring rapper was not alert when police shot and killed him. sot: willie was unarmed. he was never coherent they shot him all of those times while he was asleep. mccoy's cousin david harrison says he viewed the police body cam shown by vallejo police last week. harrison says the police never identified themselves when calling for willie to raise his hands and quickly fired.. sot: he was executed by firing squad you know we heard the barrage of shots..how many shots does it take to stop a threat? on the night of february 9th vallejo police say they found mccoy unresponsive at a taco bell drive thru with a hand gun in his lap. police say when they arrived they boxed-in his car to prevent any sudden movements.they say mccoy woke up but did not listen to their commands..while watching the

video harrison says it appears the police were not sure what to do..sot: one cop said to the other cop after he told him the gun was not loaded he said well if he moves you know what to do. and then he said this..harrison says that gesture shows the police were not concerned with keeping mccoy alive. the family's attorney was not allowed to view the police body cam video. but harrison wants the video be released so the public can see what happened. year old danieson crowder was discovered on the slopes at northstar on wednesday. that's the same day he was reported missing. the sheriff's office says he went snowboarding alone on monday. ( marty ) family, loved ones, and members of the sacramento community are coming together to remember the life of stephon clark. he is the 22-year old who was fatally shot by police last march in his grandmother's backyard. police said -- they thought clark was holding a gun. it turned out -- he was holding a ( marty ) clark was killed on march 18th of last year. more events are scheduled throughout the weekend to remember his life. the shooting that sent a man to the hospital saturday afternoon in pittsburgh. police say they found a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound at a home on barrie drive. the victim and his wife were arguing before the shooting occured. police did not release any names...or mention any ( marty ) a prospect high school student's poster will be used to help recover illegal guns. aileen ra's acrylic painting shows hands clenching guns paired with the slogan #neveragain. she won first place in a santa clara county poster contest. the theme of the contest was "post-parkland: students speak out against school shootings." she says local marches and discussions spurred her into thinking deeply about the issue of gun violence. people in the midwest are under flood watches as floodwaters continue to rise. rivers in several states, from wisconsin, to south dakota are overflowing. a mix of rain and melting snow at higher elevations flooded the rivers in the region -- that left residents scrambling to evacuate as the water poured into their homes.. ahmed khan: "the guy shot at me but i dodged down. so he missed me so i ran back to the mosque and told everyone to go to the ground because there is someone with a gun who is going to shoot everyone. so everyone went to ground and he started shooting the windows." inside, khan, found a friend, bleeding.ahmed khan: "i knew he got shot on the right arm so i went there and hold him and tell him , he was asking for some water , i said calm down police is here. and then the gunman came to the window and shot him while i was holding him in the head. and he was dead."khan came to new zealand twelve years ago seeking safety, a refugee from kabul, afghanistan. his afghan uncle, killed in the gunfire, on new zealand's darkest day, at a second mosque just minutes away. khaled al shdokhi was inside al noor mosque when the bullets began flying there.

golden gate fields and santa anita park has decided it wants to phase out the use of a very common medication called álasix.á. it is a diuretic given to racehorses that also helps their lungs handle the intensity of a race. kron 4's noelle bellow reports not everyone supports that decision.

( marty ) breaking overnight -- in the east bay, the chp is investigating a freeway shooting on highway 4 in concord. it happened around 2 saturday afternoon. the chp was investigating a silver honda that had drven off the road and hit a guard rail on eastbound highway 4 at port chicago highway. officers found bullet holes on the driver's side door. the woman behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene. she was the only person in the car. the chp hasn't released her name nor a motive. hospital after he was shot in the head early this morning in oakland. police found the victim at 96th avenue and sunnyside street. the shooting happened just after one a-m. no word on the victim's condition. police have not arrested any suspects. ( marty ) the family of a vallejo man shot and killed by police says he was not alert at the time of his death. 20-year-old willie mccoy was killed last month at a taco bell drive-thru. ( marty ) last week, mccoy's family viewed the police body cam video from that night. they're now calling for the public to see it as well. kron4's dan thorn spoke with mccoy's family members the family of 20 year old willie mccoy says the aspiring rapper was not alert when police shot and killed him. sot: willie was unarmed. he was never coherent they shot him all of those times while he was asleep. mccoy's cousin david harrison says he viewed the police body cam shown by vallejo police last week. harrison says the police never

interstate 880 in hayward may have to find a different route during the early morning hours. c-h-p is closing the highway for a few hours overnight next week. kron 4's sara stinson is joining us now live with more. early morning commuters should allow for extra time on interstate highway 880 this week, when all southbound lanes of the freeway in hayward will be closed for four hours overnight for the next four days. the closures will accommodate installation of 880 express lanes signs, according to the metropolitan transportation commission.
