( will ) happening this morning...a portion of highway 101 in san mateo is closed while pg&e performs some work in the area. you can expect delays on highway 101 between state highway 92 and kehoe avenue. crews are working on high-voltage power lines in the area. the on-ramp at northbound fashion island is also closed. a detour is in place. its expected to reopen at 9 this morning. ( will ) if you live in the north bay a major highway is closed right now. highway 37 just east of highway 121 remains closed for emergency repair work to a railroad crossing. kron4's dan thorn shows us what sections are affected and how to avoid the area until it reopens later this morning. crews hard a work to repair a

railroad crossing along highway 37 near sears point.. the heavily used stretch of road was forced to close in both directions saturday night..sot: so we're replacing all the concrete crossing panels and both of the rails that cross the road and we're going to raise that section of track at the same time and pave out about 30 foot in either direction to make a nice smooth transition for traffic.. jake struder with northwestern pacific railroad says this emergency work is because of this broken piece of rail..the jagged metal could've been dangerous to not only trains but traffic..nats. the bulk of the construction work involves heavy duty vehicles...meanwhile, drivers are being told to watch for detours..plan ahead and take alternate routes..during this closure west bound highway 37 traffic should use northbound highway 29 to westbound sr-12 to southbound highway 121. drivers can re-enter westbound 37 at the highway 121/37 interchange. eastbound 37 drivers should use northbound 121 to eastbound highway 12 to southbound highway 29. do this before re-entering highway 37 at the highway 29/37 interchange..

( will ) we continue to follow breaking news out of san francisco. four people were shot in a san francisco... leaving one person dead. three others were transported to the hospital... but their conditions are not known. police say it happened around 8:40 satruday night in the 1300 block of fillmore. that's near fillmore an eddy street in the city's western addition. the circumstances are unknown right now. we are not aware of any arrests that have been made. ( will ) breaking overnight --- one woman died in a house

fire in redwood city. another person was injured in the fire... but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. it was first reported a little after 10 last night on jackson avenue. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. ( will ) and in contra costa county --- a 61-year-old man died early this morning in a house fire in el sobrante. fire crews pulled the man from the fire around 3-45 this morning --- but he died at the scene. officials say no one else was inside the home at the time. the cause is under investigation. ( will ) happening today --- democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders will be in the bay area. the vermont senator has been campaigning in the state all week --- including stops in san diego and l-a yesterday.

an emergency landing yesterday at a k-mart parking lot in redwood city. the plane landed two miles from the san carlos airport. the pilot reported a mechanical issue around 4:30 and then made a safe, controlled landing in the parking lot on veterans boulevard. mechanics from the airport was able to make the repairs and the helicopter was back in the air. no one was hurt. ( will ) in sonoma county... someone is breaking into many cars in healdsburg.... so be careful and take out your valuables.. kron 4's gayle ong has the story healdsburg police are warning drivers to secure their vehicle after several reports of car thefts. one incident happened on tuesday night and surveillance video captured a person walking up to a driveway and checking for unlocked cars. the person is then seen getting into one of the vehicles and looking around inside. it's unclear whether they took anything, but the individual then moves to another parked vehicle that appears to be locked.residents say healdsburg is a tight-knit community where everyone knows and looks out for each other. "everybody knows each other and passes the word around so it's only 25,000 people who live in healdsburg city," christopher huber said.huber said he is not surprised about the recent thefts because it happened to him. "i have in the past because i left my car opened," he said. officers say most of the thefts that were reported involved unlocked cars.

djegal with the story. for about an hour... two checkpoints in terminal three and another in the international terminal at san francisco international airport were shutdown early saturday morning. this while law enforcement tracked down a passenger who just been flagged by transportation security administration agents -- who noticed a loaded gun magazine in the passenger's bag.nats- the ordeal caused major delays and long lines. passengers were prevented from entering some boarding areas.nick martin/traveler- "it was a bit, um, a lot of confusion, so all of the, all of the tsa guards sort of yelled breach." and, while the search was underway to find the passenger in question... flights not already on the taxiway were grounded.nats- the t-s-a agents initially pulled the wrong bag for inspection at a screening.. so, the passenger involved took their luggage with the loaded magazine into the terminal.nick martin/traveler- "we had thought originally that somebody was waiting for their bags, tsa saw that there was something in there that they were discussing and that

that person had just bolted and run because they were anxious about getting caught, but it does seem like now that that person didn't realize that they had packed their loaded magazine." eventually, the t-s-a agents were able to track that person down. travelers impacted by the incident took to social media to share their experiences and frustrations. one person saying they saw a man dragged away by law enforcement... another remarking how little communication was coming from the airport about the situation. long lines and long delays drawing the ire of someone else waiting to board a flight. an aiport duty manager says the passenger had the gun magazine in his carry-on bag after visiting a shooting range. once located, he was re-screened and allowed to leave. philippe djegal, kron four news.
