>>good morning that breaking news that only one lane of northbound interstate 80 just south of 98th avenue that's near the oakland airport is open this morning. the other 3 lanes are closed it's all because of a 3 vehicle crash. that was reported a little bit after 5 o'clock this morning now crews are still working to clear the scene right now but if you're headed in that area thinking of heading to the oakland you're going to have some traffic delays so look for alternate routes, we'll continue to stay on top of this for you throughout the morning as we get new information. good morning. everybody, i'm martin gonzalez we're going to start things off now with the forecast

today and again some of that drizzle we'll take a look at the forecast. it comes ahead for the start of the week and there's still no mention of rain to get things started but it looks pretty mild and the rest of the week though mark. our top story, this morning, a closer look at the christmas day officer-involved shooting that left one woman dead. >>this newly released body camera footage shows the woman's final actions before san jose police say they were forced to open fire. the santa clara county da ruled last week that the 4 officers involved in that shooting that you just saw were justified in their actions. a 62 page report found that officers fired 37 rounds and jennifer vasquez hitting or 14 times in the head chest arm and shoulder. a passenger in that vehicle that you saw was also hit. kron four is noel bello has more.

follow. oakland mayor libby schaff us congresswoman barbara lee and former oakland mayor harris are all expected to speak a burial mass is scheduled for tomorrow night at 7 o'clock. happening today, governor gavin newsom is headed to el salvador to better understand the situation in that violence torn country the can visit comes after state lawmakers announced a proposal to create an agency specifically for immigrants and refugees, lawmakers are looking to bring all the services the state offers under one roof. the proposal would also establish a secretary of immigrant and refugee affairs to help lead that agency in el salvador governor newsom will get a firsthand look at some of the root causes of the migration. california has the country's largest immigrant population at about 10 million people. police are investigating an assault on a passenger on board a bart train authorities say it happened last night about 8 30 of the daily city station. 2 men apparently got into a fight one of them

taking a look at that surveillance video to try and identify the suspects in that crash. new this morning. the chp is trying to figure out what caused the man's car to plunge down a hill in sonoma county. the deadly crash happened friday night in the 4500 block. a ball handling road in cars and arrow. the man died, but his girlfriend was able to climb up a steep slope despite a broken leg. she waited for more than 13 hours for help. she was finally rescued around 11 o'clock yesterday morning and airlifted to a hospital. the vehicle rolled about 800 feet down the embankment and ended up on its roof. there's no word on who was driving the car at the time or the cause of the crash. the housing crisis in the bay areas, forcing a family of 9 to try and find a new place to live. it's been a year since at family welcomed quintuplets into their home and they moved to the community of mountain house that's near tracy but now they find they have to relocate again. here's kron four michelle kingston with the story. >>it's a lot of work.

jose basketball coach is in jail this morning after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a young girl. >>kron forcefully to gaal has the story. >>53 year-old david kaiser's future with youth as a coach with the nonprofit national junior basketball league is in serious jeopardy. last sunday, the san jose police department arrested him at his home on mount carmel drive. he was charged with multiple felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor that's really surprising. some of kaiser's neighbors were willing to share their reaction to his incarceration but preferred to remain anonymous said to sickens me

derrick all men and max harris are on trial for the 2016 oakland warehouse fire that killed 36 people. each is charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. last thursday prosecutors asked the 2 owners of the wahouse if they had leased the warehouse to all and if they were in any way responsible for the fire. the owners did not respond to any of those questions. tomorrow pools of potential jurors will come up to court to fill out questionnaires to begin the process. and new this morning the inmate who walked away from an alternative custody program last week is now back in custody. he's 43 year-old nick sanchez, he was arrested yesterday near san jose. last year he was sentenced to 3 years for vehicle theft and prior convictions and he was released to the acp program last week when he failed to report and then he failed to report to a parole officer, santa clara district attorney's office is now considering filing escape charges. again sanchez. this
