as well and then behind it there's some light rain showers we can still track that are in southern moran. so we put the whole thing together you can see behind it there isn't anything it's blue skies that will be coming our way this course, the blue ocean but clear skies and even with the solar heating the we're not going to see a lot in the way of temperature movement is we have a new air mass here that's cooler. so it could be a chilly day in combine that with some winds to even though we're going to see the sign. here's a fog. the sec, it's lifting right above the alcatraz island as you can see a kind of covering up the tops of the buildings off of san francisco. live shot coming in from the golden gate at least we can see the north and tower pretty nicely and even a donna summer and as far as that fog is concerned it looks like it continues to hover down the peninsula and down to the hills of the south bay, let's watch this as we go into the afternoon. there we have a kind of other in the santa cruz mountains up to mt hamilton looks like it's going to be slow going in those spots, although clearing out elsewhere north day east bay and around the perimeter of the bay itself. temperatures right now we're in the

falling over spring break for many this is the first year and many years is actually falling on a weekend day. so you can imagine this is going to be a very big year and it's only the second year that ah a cannabis has been recreationally legal as well so that with its second year as well as falling on the weekend again. they're expecting about 20,000 people were here the entrance of golden gate park where people are going to be lining up the event to started about 10:00am today. so crews are finishing a some of their touches on putting up signage as well as continuing to the gates around the perimeter here of the area, but there are few logistics everyone to know if you are planning on coming out today, one of the main ones is safety on the city officials we spoke with say you know what that comes first and when it comes to your cannabis bring your own they don't want you buying it around the house for areas because they're really worried about the black market and possibly things being contaminated in any bit for you if you are deciding to you so again they do ask you bring your cannabis prior to coming into the grounds here today to avoid the black market also logistics of

fell from an apartment building fire escape this happened about 4 30 friday afternoon on the 1400 block of martin luther king junior way the investigation is ongoing this morning. one person was killed in a head-on collision in martinez police say a 60 year-old man died in the crash at the corner of alhambra avenue and al hamra valley road. the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. investigators don't believe the drugs or alcohol played a role in that case. and still ahead on kron 4 news weekend the bay area grandmothers behind bars this morning charged with the murder of her grandsons, we have the latest for you coming up. and then family friends and the community remember a teenager who went missing days ago at half moon bay. but first a turning point in american history and now 20 years later

was killed during a night of rioting in londonderry northern ireland police there are calling it a terrorist incident, 29 year old aaron mckie was shot on thursday, she was standing close to a police vehicle when she was wounded. my a single gunman who was firing into a neighborhood. now police do not know she was reporting at the time or if she was in londonderry for personal reasons. happening today people across the country will mark the 20th anniversary of

day 2 of the day the 2 students walked into their colorado high school and opened fire and killed 13 people. dozens more were injured. the teenagers behind the shooting made videos before the attack talking about their plans and even apologizing to their parents for it. both teams died by suicide. natasha chen talk to some of the survivors. >>last night survivors and brought their children to the columbine memorial standing side by side with members of the community, the former principal all with tea lights illuminating the 13 names of the victims on plaques with their biographies. >>on a hill top next to columbine high school is a quiet space filled with 13 plaques naming the people who were killed on april 20th 1999. the community of littleton lit candles friday night standing by the friends. they lost. among them are people who could have died that day. survivor patrick ireland to was shot twice in the head. >>fortune of the. but i'm so

little while to kind of clear out maybe the late morning hours or so before that finally starts to left live shot coming in from the bay bridge. there we see the cloud cover. but in a parade against the east bay hills we've been actually tracking some rain showers going on just east of that so there's the line that we're concerned with in behind all that it's very clear but it will be chilly and breezy too that such as this morning, but also this afternoon very loyally out of the northwest it looks like bay area temperatures check it out we've got the mid-fifties in place here for the most part lower 50's up there the north bay 51 san francisco, 56 meanwhile for san jose. we go to the models now and i did mention little little spatter of some rain perhaps token up there in the mountains but that looks like that's going to linger for a while look at a up for tomorrow, even some mountain snows perhaps meanwhile for us we're already clearing out by easter sunday, we're warming up to where warm up those temperatures into the 70's, it looks like by tomorrow afternoon that we're struggling today so there the winds on the northwest you see

in the north bay down the peninsula. and this covers all the way to around noon, but it's still with us. all day. pretty much total bay coverage. the most intense to the north they and also for the peninsula. it starts to subside looks like a little bit by sunday. so breaking it down for us, early clouds of a sprinkle question mark. neither is going to get it cool and breezy with 60's that's even inland too. than easter sunday, mostly sunny still breezy but warmer let's get some 70's going on here for the bay upper 70's for the in the locations. next week at out of town look at the upper 80's going on in london as we get some real spring-like weather going on here so today these highs or do sul shock to the system. you combine some of those winds that will be a bit on the chilly side antioch bay. get up there about 7 yourself. they temperatures mid 60's. here's a look at the 7 day forecast is all about i think is that tennis shoes on as you can see in the next week we've got mid 80's for most of the week ahead maybe even some upper 80's going on cooling off again next

weekend. but i think it will probably drop be dry marty all right dave, thanks le let's get to a big story we're all and this morning. prosecutors are revealing how they determine that a milpitas woman killed her 3rd or 3 year-old grandson. she appeared in court for the first time on friday and kron four is dan kerman was there. prosecutors on saying what caused the 70 year-old woman to allegedly strangled her 3 year-old grandson to death. >>but they do say there was a witness a 70 year-old files ha she made her first court appearance friday afternoon. >>since being arrested for strangling her 3 year-old grandson. but they're milpitas home monday. she was surrounded by her public defender and a somali interpreter but did not enter a plea. she's charged with murder, assault of a child bleeding to death and child endangerment. >>there's nothing that we can do to bring him back but you everything that we can to make sure that the person responsible is held accountable. >>prosecutors would not say what led up to the killing nor would they comment on how

she's mental state. but they did say the victim's 4 year-old cousin witness the attack. >>the 4 year-old has revealed that she watched the grandmother strangled the child was thrown down on the floor. >>court documents say when the victims and returned to the milpitas home with her other children. how she said the victim who had been ill had vomit it so she put him in an upstairs bedroom, so he could rest the and found him unresponsive, but when she called 911 court documents say she said she saw marks in his neck that indicated he was choked. again the defendant did not enter a plea. the judge has said no bail she is due back in court on may 8 and the hall of justice in san jose dan kerman kron 4 news. >>scientists at the marine mammal center have confirmed that this gray whale died from blunt force trauma and that can be attributed to striking a ship. the whale washed up in pacific on tuesday. it's at least the second gray whale this month this month that

scientists have confirmed die due to a ship strike and the 7th whale death in the bay area since march. now let's take a look at the gray whale stranding so far in the bay area this year on march 10th and 11th to wales died from malnutrition. that was the same case for a whale that washed up in rodale back on april 2nd. then on april 10th, the whale washed up in san mateo county. this one also died of a ship strike. there were 2 whale deaths back on april 13th one in richmond and in hercules the cause of death under investigation. but scientists do believe that the whale found in richmond may have also been the victim of a ship strike. more bay area news for you this morning 2 suspected thieves from oakland are accused of breaking into 40 cars in los angeles. take a look at the surveillance video police have arrested 5 people so far in connection with the break ins. officers say the suspects used to rental east scooters well they hit dozens of cars in hollywood. they e% targeted cars with out of

last year. yesterday prosecutors asked the judge to give their expert witness, the suspects psychological profile. this after 2 psychiatrists examined cal and submitted opposing conclusions about his mental competence. the judge expects to make a final ruling on wednesday. a box truck burst into flames while going through the toll plaza at the benicia bridge. it happened friday before 1 o'clock in the afternoon you can see the burned out truck sitting right next to the toll booth. the boos also caught on fire fortunately, no one was injured and there's no cause is no word this morning on the cause of the fire. police in fremont say they will release the body cam video showing the moment that a man was shot and killed after he had an officer's cruiser take a look at the cruiser that was involved in this that happened on thursday night just outside of washington hospital. police say the officer returned fire and hit the attacker. he was wounded. police say the suspect then trying to strike again when other officers
