morning. we're back on kron 4 news weekend as we check out the view from the embarcadero cameron size view this morning. we're off to a good start weather wise days part here tell us more about it we do have a decent forecast will say improving because some folks a you know the heat waves will spike there one thing you don't take fire we're going to take 5 in the next week you'll be seeing
7:15 am
that in the long range forecast too. today. the issue is taking care of this fog a little light moisture look at this. but that will hear yeah, and so as i like a thunderstorm in the midwest or something like that you know you hear thunder and see just a lot of the sun still so again the fog we have to deal with a little bit but it looks like it's lifting know getting a alcatraz and san francisco in the background. so when things around we'll take a shot of the bay bridge and still data low lying and fog hovering around the east to east bay hills just a little bit for this morning. now as far as the bigger picture. now that's a low level moisture. the higher stuff is going to be from the slow down to our south west. now it is not part reason the rain but some high cloudiness that will kind of give those peace the white skies we expect into the afternoon kind of spelling what you really can't make out too well as as a deepening low pressure system up in the northwest. that's going to drive some cooling to to kind of bring in that onshore wind a little bit chip away at this high so kind of put the on that heat spike that we've had already from last week
7:16 am
mid-fifties lining up the east bay shoreline for right now some 40's a pair of the north bay, 53 sam, san jose, 53 for livermore 57 meanwhile for any oc the future cast for doesn't show much this is the low lying moisture you see there and little wave coming up from the south. basically this high cause don't show up really well in these model runs. but that's will probably start to see again that the some of become kind of hazy a little bit as those high clouds start to build a little bit. this afternoon we probably will see some better clearing happening tomorrow, one note real quick these winds. they start to pop into the double digits over good piece of real estate going on, but notice the wind direction here northwesterly it's a little bit of that low towards our northeast starting to deepen start to do its thing and work kind of chipping away at that highs, we get them out of that direction that means a heat wave, your days are numbered here so we got its cooling off a little bit today and you'll see it into next week as well can lingering around for a while so it's mostly sunny today, high clouds developing the afternoon cooler temps got
7:17 am

7:43 am
when it comes to type 2 diabetes, are you thinking about your heart? well, i'm managing my a1c, so i should be all set. actually, you're still at risk for a fatal heart attack or stroke. that's where jardiance comes in. it reduces the risk of dying from a cardiovascular event for adults who have type 2 diabetes and known heart diseas. that's why the american diabetes association recommends the active ingredient in jardiance. and it lowers a1c? with diet and exercise.
7:44 am
jardiance can cause serious side effects including dehydration, genital yeast or urinary tract infections, and sudden kidney problems. ketoacidosis is a serious side effect that may be fatal. a rare, but life-threatening, bacterial infection in the skin of the perineum could occur. stop taking jardiance and call your doctor right away if you have symptoms of this bacterial infection, ketoacidosis, or an allergic reaction. do not take jardiance if you are on dialysis or have severe kidney problems. taking jardiance with a sulfonylurea or insulin may cause low blood sugar. so, what do you think? now i feel i can do more to go beyond lowering a1c. ask your doctor about jardiance today.

7:46 am
there's a source of moisture line of that there's a one deep to the south so it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, and it doesn't happen any subtropical jet to be something in terms of giving us some rain or anything so what does get some high cloudiness for it again those pasty white skies expected to build later on today if you are travel down the central coast we've got highs projected around 60, but again the high cloudiness to deal with and pretensions of the higher elevations in those hills might pick up an afternoon sprinkle potentially to the south 63 elliott 68 san diego, big bear not bad at 64 central valley, 86 to fresno so they're still feeling the heat going on 89 bakersfield that that will be broken later, 77 going on for sacramento. so let's go for with the long-range forecast models pretty good on the sunshine department will see really much to waive anything interfering just milder temperatures. later portion a week something that needs to be watched here come some cloudiness into next weekend. we expect temperatures to retreat still on the fence he

and our health expert joins me this morning to explain the risks of a fair but also a one food can affect those abnormal heart beat i care and know there show me how you're going to a show show was this an and it's fascinating so let's go right to it when you have. >>have a fib your heart does not contract and relax normally so pretend this is your heart ok, a normal heart is going to contract strong man at a regular pace so notice that this is pretend this is your aorta our blood is running out. so there's nice regular hard right very strong now when you have a fib your heart relating aso you notice you're not going to get good blood flow right, it's going very rapidly but you're not getting a strong contraction and a person feels has been shortness of breath right to the end their lives some people don't feel it almost people. yes they do have some strong symptoms now that the the 2 main things that are of concern to set
9:48 am
when a oce occurs with age increasing age 12 and also with hypertension and one in 3 americans have hypertension engine so this is really something to pay attention very much so so if you have hypertension. yes, a 50 something to be really be concerned with. ok so now we we've talked about the problem. we talked a little bit about what it cado to us let's get let's get more into that. yes a stroke. so what happened says that first win when your blood can't win with release all that blood is going to settle in the bottom of your heart oh and then it will start o'clock, just sitting there. some lot of people that have a fib have to be on any to some type of anti-coagulant isis so they don't have a stroke so can lead to heart failure and the you mention because your heart is beating so hard and so hard get him back lee cognitive decline and dementia people don't always make that relationship right but here's an example of how much blood
9:49 am
close to your brain this whole gallon you're looking here is a judge here if we can yes. how much blood flows through your brain in 4 minutes. this much that might lead jail and a tide of land grant in just 4 minutes. that's why if your heart stops for more than 4 minutes. is you can see why they talk about this will cause brain damage. yes exactly so same with a with a sip you not getting good blood flow, not good oxygenatn you're getting that this much blood through to your brain dementia and decline. i often a consequence of faith that you talked a little bit about the symptoms so listless moment and focus more attention on that are some of the symptoms you feel that these high palpitations that rapid fire can get a breath, yes yet some people feel like it's a skipped beat. and and often times it kind of mimics a heart attack. so oftentimes they'll go to the e r because they feel like you're having a
9:50 am
heart attack they're saying to having chest pain sure at this wedding. so pretty serious the light-headedness yes, not get you're not getting the pleasure getting the blood clots actually to your brain and your you're getting you're tired. you're not getting blood flow to your muscles. same thing you mention that that some people are on medication for this there's there's one way for people to a. >>kind of offset the risk of of a famine that is the chopper to get. >>get some some researchers in denmark to this study because they saw that there are some benefits to the heart but eating chocolate, but no one ever did a study on a fib and the connection that yesterday did a study analyzed dietary habits and health conditions of over 55,000 people to him and they found an inverse relationship between the man to talk what you eat and the they rates of a failed a so that's a good thing. yeah, it is a good thing.
9:51 am
>>but what is interesting in that in that some of the results show you don't you shouldn't do this every day you should have a job and that lee guess so. >>and they found that if you have certain 1, 1, serving and i think we there to screen so 10% lower a lower risk when you eat one to 3 servings a is one out so case very small a smile. 17% lower if eat it once a week get now 20% lower 2 to 6 times so we so almost every day but not quite yes, okay, now, you'll notice said if you eat one or more servings a day and every day it starts to that they're your wrist starts to come right back up sell so the bottom line here is don't eat it every day tony more than one serving a ok, yes, but you, but you can help offset a 5th yes exactly which is the great take a this is an ounce this is the serving right, so yes, can you can eat your way to a healthy heart in moderation
