60's heading down to the south. long-range forecast there you have it. some rain showers and soak our early in the week. and then that's we want to watch the end of our week with some scattered clouds a little drop in temperatures after the spike in the inland areas, maybe upper 70's potentially and then later in the forecast period, let's go all the way up to the into the weekend. whoa maybe little chance, maybe some showers in crude encroaching here maybe sunday into monday, something to watch the long-range forecast 4 zone forecast, let's get to it 62, san francisco at the coast about 64 daly city, 57 pacifica 61 going on for half moon bay near water. remember you want to calculate little bit of a win going on here mid to lower 60's lineup, the northern end of the peninsula. we popped them to the upper 60's to the south like foster city, san carlos 66 but 71 palo alto and mountain view. the south bay not much better into the lower 70's still that 75. morgan hill looks like those goggles about 70 to 72 also for cupertino east bay

shoreline to the south is an upper 60's territory. we've got the mid 70's there for tri valley looks like 73 walnut creek in concord at 74 upper 60's to some lower 60's line up the east bay shoreline, 70 sonoma 68 going on for napa meanwhilea santa rose at 68. and then the 60's for most of into the south a little checks in at 70, here's a little minor warm-up we see here going on by thursday little but collection of clouds cool us down a little bit heading into the weekend. it's the latter portion a week and on sunday might be toying with a sprinkle we're there. for your hoalth this morning studies show that chocolate is good for your health, but which ones could cow cocoa chocolate. >>what's the difference. health expert karen owen joins me this morning to break it all down and explai which ones to enjoy and which ones to avoid high a lot of folks would say you know what i'm not avoiding it comes to your health. >>to we do and it's that kind of teasing sure so let's talk
9:47 am
about the the heart benefits that a certain type of chocolate will help so. >>talking contains antioxidants flavin threat and those are anti inflammatory of those help reduce your risk of a heart attack heart failure we talked about a and that's 2010 to 20% lower risk eating sometimes incredibles it is a sofa very very beneficial tell us talk about the different types of chocolate and and we we were at we mention cow. yes, so we mention chocolate, we coco so let's start with the took a cow. >>they've often been used interchangeably you know they are very different. so could count pretty much the roth for me it's it's the most natural form just because it's the least processed. so and most of people would say that's a good thing. and they'll think it's been touted as a super food, the yes you're going to destroy lot of fewer of the slave in however it's it it's
9:48 am
you know a lot of the talk like that can tell comes from some of the 3rd world countries and there's not a lot of good sanitary conditions say so and when it's not he did it at high temperatures. some of bacteria in the pathogens can throughout remain and that the see up to watch out for that. yes will go in my opinion i i don't do the rock capital cases day away from the sra so what's a person to do that and so the cell with and it's heated to high temperatures. it becomes go get in its ground into a fine powder and cocoa so there are 2 types of cocoa powder k so the 1 one type is than the natural cocoa powder right and you know coco cam. is acidic still coker patter have the natural has kind of a bidder. sharp taste to it i say now ah, it's it's now if you are too. kind of
9:49 am
alkali and alkaline to which it becomes that costs lsu. so that's the difference between the yes when we hear about in touch call go in to treated, yes, so it's not so still it has a very it's not smooth air milder okay, however, always however. it similar. flavin else. oh that's that's the tradeoff now when you cook with the debt process. it's not as acidic so you need to add the baking powder which is acidic in order for it if you're baking a cake and then in order to make it rise see so baker's kind of have to be because the son of whether they're using the patch and the natural why more the dutch so now we have that cleared up let's move on to cocoa which i think most of us are aware of
9:50 am
and how we can get the packets or i get it out is like coco exactly so you're getting a lot of sugar, the first ingredient in here center. so we the labels as always yes, are and then these dry milk solids and then some cocoa. >>so you don't get a whole lot of when you have caught a cold it is actually so 2 table getting almost complete sugar when you have a hot coal with a little bit and the others before is all sadder and ask you this but obviously we stay with it and that much sugar is almost to the allowance for a woman as the herd 80 per day while so you cld just so going all way and is having a cup of hot all right. ok, let's move on to the and how they help with their health so and when it comes to getting the most bang for your want to get they you want to start go with the dark chocolate darker the better of the 70% all the
9:51 am
way down to 90% what i know you feel is a little bitter. why do mean you know there people like yes, there are a lot of health benefits too to but in one thing i understand is that there's less sugar and in these bars less sugar and the 90% versus us a 70%. if you look at you know, and i was comparing the labels. there was more back as we went really you have a lot less sugars notices, 16 grams of 2 grams of sugar in the 90% and that the 70% 9 grams of sugar yes, yes, so is clever and 9 table this little more than 2 tablespoon so if you're going to have that will have cocoa. a fat 60% about 60% of it is saturated fat that we don't

want to eat so quickly the take away here the take away is to try and eat the darkest hot chocolate and then the natural natural cocoa great "curiouser and curiouser," said alice.
