i'm mildly obsessed with numbers. so, i started with the stats regarding my moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. like how humira has been prescribed to over 300,000 patients.
7:09 am
and how many patients saw clear or almost clear skin in just 4 months - the kind of clearance that can last. humira targets and blocks a specific source of inflammation that contributes to symptoms. numbers are great. and seeing clearer skin is pretty awesome, too. that's what i call a body of proof. humira can lower your ability to fight infections. serious and sometimes fatal infections, including tuberculosis, and cancers, including lymphoma, have happened, as have blood, liver, and nervous system problems, serious allergic reactions, and new or worsening heart failure. tell your doctor if you've been to areas where certain fungal infections are common and if you've had tb, hepatitis b, are prone to infections, or have flu-like symptoms or sores. don't start humira if you have an infection. want more proof? ask your dermatologist about humira. this is my body of proof.
7:10 am
good morning. kron 4 news weekend. we're counting down to the indy 500 and for drivers flying around that track at over 200 miles an hour comes with a lot of risks and the potential for injury if not death. but track officials have been making continual safety uproot improvements that have saved many drivers lives. sarah high night now shows us a safety improvements that have been made to the cars to better protect drivers on race day. of turn number 3, but ryan are only. >>the way to spend. >>crashes like this happen all the time in racing and now
7:11 am
oftentimes drivers are able to walk away with only a few bruises. but that hasn't always been the case. >>the seat belts. 2 helmets to fire suits. 5 foods were nothing of it until italy 30 years ago the obvious there's a lot of developments in the car. development in our response development in the medical follow-up that actually leads our success in taking the care the drivers. >>bomb and says the 2 biggest developments in terms of safety in recent years have been the han system that protects the head and spine during occur cash and the safer barrier inside the track that absorbs the energy and some of the impact. >>but the hans together you put the safer barrier together. you look at our response you look at the medical follow-up that we have and we're really put together really strong crack it package to help the driver survived. >>developments have been made both inside and outside of the car that experts say have allowed more serious crashes to have less of an impact to the driver's body. >>and the driver is in close
7:12 am
and that safety sells basically the car disintegrates around that safety. so when they have an impact they dissipate a lot of energy on impact a lot of the debris comes off we have a large debris field. that every piece of breaks off the car is energy that the driver is not feeling. 100 mile impact in these cars as nothing. you know even a 150 mile an hour is is a it's a pretty good hit for these drivers, but it's nothing that we would ever survive out on the street in a streetcar. >>grand before the race make sure that you tune in tonight for our countdown in the special that's at 9 o'clock right here on kron four we'll be celebrating the race and the track with a story about one of the best traditions in all of sports plus the lifesaving message. one race team is sharing for everyone. it's so you can find it on countdown to india to saturday night that tonight at 9 o'clock date. >>ok morning look at a few scattered clouds a single shot coming in from out blows over
7:13 am
the cumulus saying high this morning we've got 50's on the board a pretty decent saturday. but we do have to mention those scattered showers and thunder showers tomorrow. it's time for you
7:14 am
7:15 am
>>good morning, we're back on kron 4 news we can enjoy a beautiful start to the day along the waterfront in san francisco, plenty of sunshine days here with the forecast don't get used to the well tomorrow that's you know we've
7:16 am
been talking about the slight chance which is going to scattered thundershowers. that's been graduated upward, so you know we haven't mentioned the good news is it's a muscle it will be a scattered of that which means you get the sun in there again just plan kind of scattered thundershowers goes in comes and goes the bay bridge shot there kind of interesting to kind of fighting to some of those morning clouds there we should go into a a fairly mostly sunny afternoon out but we have some blue skies off towards the distance here some scattered clouds though making their morning appearance. so here's the troublemaker upstream we get nice not one i stay here before we start have to deal with this which will start actually overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning they area temperatures again there in the 50's just about everywhere we get some lower 50's popping up here and there in the north a particularly mid-fifties east bay shoreline and dropping off a little bit inland. we haven't had too much heating just yet before this started a couple of warming up a little bit. but a major warm up happening inland, but just a little bit more so than near the water's edge so today. again we go in a mostly sunny mode looking good except for the mountains, we should note those showers and even some
7:17 am
snow showers happening. here's where it starts it looks like it's favoring into the santa cruz mountains in the south bay for very late tonight, early morning on sunday predawn hours so get the sun out then it turns into a scattered shower and thunder shower event, quite active by the way in the mountains as you'll see both in the form of snow and rain happening there because temperatures still aren't that that warm for this time of year, you know we're talking still 60's and fighting to get some 70's in today's forecast in london will give the scattered showers and thunder showers with that daytime heating with the cooler air lock the drive potentially some scattered thunder showers but not everybody is getting it all at the same time as you can see we got about 5.45 before it starts to wane a that's part a part b of the deal is we have some building with so today it's bit of a breeze by late this evening at 7.45. we've got some winds in the teens here, then it kicks in here overnight early tomorrow morning, strong northwest
7:18 am
winds as you'll notice readings into the 20's and certainly upper teens so we've got scattered clouds and mild conditions for today, looks a ominous for this shot here from u c berkeley bay temperatures 6070's happening in london. that's not really that warm for this time of year. tomorrow or scattered showers windy thunder showers with those winds at about 20 mph are better. the next week, it's back to scattered clouds going on on monday, minor warming. really for all this week only get a say into the 70's for the bay so for today will do about 71 san jose 66 went on going 60 to san francisco. here's a quick check of the forecast by the holiday inn monday, we're looking a little better here although much cooler even inland at 67 or so a recovery into only the upper 70's but at least we'll see some variable clouds and some sunshine back in the driver's seat, including on monday morning. ok dick thank you. this morning we're hearing from the former morehouse college student from the bay area who missed out on his chance to have his student loans paid.
