education. we're actually the new haven unified school district. staff members as well as the new haven, unified school district teachers are he new haven, teachers association, they're going to be continuing negotiations. today this morning at around 09:00am and this is after a marathon of negotiations that happened on friday they went from one 30 pm until midnight saturday morning. this is something they've been working on for quite some time. now in front of the school where they were working on these negotiations there were people that were picketing all throughout the time we actually heard from the new haven, teachers association president who said that that actually gave them a lot of encouragement throughout those negotiations. now the teachers associations is made up of 600 members and their striking 4 things that a lot of people are a lot of different teachers associations across the bay area are looking for higher pay a big thing lower class sizes and more resources for students and different

morning. other news this morning gilroy police identified the victim of a recent fatal stabbing 29 year-old jonathan a royal rivera died after he was stabbed friday morning and the suspect is still on the loose this morning. police are still trying to find out the motive and circumstances that surround the stabbing. no suspects have been identified in gilroy police detectives say they are actively working this investigation. now to the east bay where police manioc are investigating the shooting that injured one person police say they found the 18 year-old victim at the delta fair medical offices, but they say the shooting happened at a different location. the man was transported from there to a local hospital. the victim gave limited information on the shooting and police have not yet identified a suspect or a motive. say that this car went airborne and crashed into a truck friday night. officers arrested the driver a 23 year-old christian burn ahlers and gullo for dui they say the driver was speeding on

>>on saturday, san francisco, firefighters rescued a man from the high surf first responders got the man safely landed seal rocked by the cliff house. the victim was doing ok. the national weather service reports the water temperature was 55 degrees at the time wafer cresting at 8 feet every 9 seconds. and take a look at this a road colorado close for a very obvious reason a massive rockslide dropped 2 giant boulders on to the highway, one of them was the size of a building. the slide destroyed the highway pavement and also left a massive trench about 8 feet across both lanes officials say they'll have to blast those rocks in order to be able to move them and get them off the road and start repair work. there's no word on how long that's going to take. in st. louis a video of a teenager helping a man in a wheelchair get home during severe storm is going viral. the boy's name is seth philips and he was in his car with his

managers we'll be meeting this morning at 09:00am and this is after a marathon of union negotiations that happened last week the last time they met was one 30 in the afternoon on friday and then when until midnight saturday morning they took a recess yesterday and they're going to be back today. now new haven unified school district covers south hayward as well as union city and we have a little bit of an update of what was going on last week for you, teachers have been on strike for almost a week and the teachers are not backing town from their demand of a pay raise amongst other things like different resources for their teachers. now as of friday, the 2 sides were not ready to go ahead and make a deal the unified school district said that it had about a one percent raise that they could offer. now the teachers are wanting a 10% raise and that and the district told kron four that if this strike goes on another week, they're really going to have to scramble to get students. their final grades and actually 10 minute they are going to scramble to administer some of the actual final test for some of the students before again they got

now we have some information on how this ah how their negotiations have been going so far now the negotiations and the contract last about a year for this is something they say that they are very much used to being in these type negotiation. the first time and you had this new haven. >>school districts 50 year history had to go ahead and strike. now again the been on strike for weekend teachers are not backing down from the demands of a pay raise amongst other things. now teachers want a 10% raise and the district is offering one percent for the next school year. >>we made a decision to go on strike at this time of year which means that we're not causing a district in the money when it comes to that and so we really wanted to make sure that we weren't high harming the district financially. and but on the other hand we're getting really close to graduation and a lot of kids are getting really anxious about things like finals a pee test and >>great and for college acceptance and so this is a really difficult time for kids.
