>>good morning. thanks so much for joining us this morning on kron 4 news start a club start to the day along the waterfront in the bay area this morning. hi everybody i'm already gonzales states bars here with the forecast and we're expecting slightly cooler temperatures a little bit today, but don't worry we'll make up for that real early into the weekend. no fear is going start to feel more and more like summer by the time we get tuesday or so looks like a quick yeah, yeah really quick jump on all this and more right now this morning, you know that fog overcast that's we're dealing with around the media bay that's the shot from timber on. so we can see the golden gate is all covered up you try to get closer to it it still. >>covered up a little bit

coastal drizzle with all of that too. and upstairs a little bit of an upper level low. that's hanging around for potential little showers maybe in the mountains, a little bit later on. here's what happens with the fog. it's a little bit more stubborn this morning, even my 09:00am it's hanging around parts of the delta. the coast is going to be very problematic for today, the beaches and so forth to keep tumor and you can see and even the peninsula coast, half moon bay. these troubled areas, the fog hangs on as late as you can see noon and may have trouble lifting even all day today, those temperatures upper 50's near about 60 opened at 60. any are checking into 62, but again most readings are in the mid to upper 50's that's a couple degrees ahead of yesterday. trailing in some of the far inland locations, how about that shot coming in from some old that's our future, nice blue skies, 69 coming in at 11 o'clock slightly warmer cooler temperatures than yesterday as you can see 77 by 2. however big time warm up early into the week, we'll take a look at that forecast more detail

san francisco ramps up today. and on saturday and animal rights protester took the stage while senator kamala harris was speaking during the move on for him. the protests are grab the icrophone just as senator harris so is taking a question about the gender pay gap in the us. he wanted the senators attention on what he called a much bigger idea but then he was removed by security. senator harris continued speaking after he was removed. new this morning, 12 people are without a home after a fire damaged an apartment complex. it happened last night on east 24th street in oakland as say it all started with a cooking fire. it took them about 40 minutes to put out the blaze 2 people were taken to the hospital but they're expected to be okay. also in the east bay, pleasant hill police are investigating a shooting at a motel around 1 o'clock this morning. investigators say someone fired about 50 rounds into parked cars and unoccupied room. police say there was a party going on in one of the

rooms, but it's not clear if there was any connection with that party to the shooting. luckily, no one was hurt. happening today, both sides in the new haven unified school district dispute will continue negotiations in hopes of ending a strike. teachers have been on walking the picket lines for the past 2 weeks, today's negotiations come one day after the district superintendent slammed the president of the teachers union over the ongoing dispute. in a doctor armando smith says he will remove himself from the negotiating process process if the union's president promises to do the same. >>teachers have decreased their initial request for a 10% pay increase to 7% over 2 years. the district is offering 5% over 2 years. coming up on kron 4 news weekend. the secretary of state responding after some california residents received the voting record of their neighbors. in the mail. and more destruction in the

intersection of 17th and mission streets. police say the car hit 2 other cars before it crashed into the iuilding. another driver sustained minor injuries, fortunately, no one was in the building at the time. scientists are investigating the unusually high number of gray whales have been washing up on bay area and other west coast beaches. this year about 75 whales have been stranded so far on the coast from california to canada this year. that's the highest number of whale deaths reported in nearly 20 years in the bay area alone at least 13 carcasses of turned up killed by malnutrition and sips a ship strikes. officials say that they will provide more resources to investigate exactly what's causing the increase of the whale deaths. i'm jimmy dean, and only one thing can make a morning

now to the east bay this morning a 36 year-old woman was killed following a fiery crash in berkeley. it happened near hasan shattuck streets just a few blocks from the cal campus. police say that a speeding tesla hit 2 other vehicles, causing one of them to catch fire. kron four is gail long has more. >>the driver of the tesla involved is cooperating with police. the victim is a 36 year-old woman. the north hollywood. damaged cars and broken glass or what remains from friday night's chaos, a 36 year-old woman was killed

near haste in atherton streets in berkeley police say she was riding in the back seat of a ford fiesta when the vehicle was hit by a tesla. >>the fiesta was pushed into 2 parked cars and caught fire police say speed was a factor, the impact of the coision causing. >>another car to be pushed into 2 other parked cars and also catching fire. >>investigators say the tests also hit a dodge pickup truck, the tesla going back and forth between the. >>the ford fiesta and a white pickup truck. continued going in and coming to rest some 100 feet away. >>the alameda county coroner's office identified the woman as we vet monarch, police say monarch in a 32 year-old woman sitting next to her had to be extricated from the car. monarch later died at the hospital. the other woman suffered critical injuries. the tesla driver stayed at the scene after the crash as police began their investigation. this is the first vehicle we saw him too.
