at comic-con. this is really the center of the entertainment universe right now. and what is everybody buzzing about? three huge movies -- "lion king," "top gun" and "cats." >> lions and cats and cruise -- oh, my! but people have questions, and let's be honest, there's also some concern. >> and we have got it all covered, starting with maverick mania. >> we just finished shooting a week ago. >> your kind is headed for extinction. >> maybe so, sir, but not today. >> the aerial footage is really beautiful. i love aviation, so this is just a love letter to aviation. >> the aerial scenes were so complex, and so difficult to capture. production on "top gun: maverick" was delayed an entire year. as for the plot? well, it's seriously one of the most closely guarded secrets in hollywood. >> one of life's mysteries, sir. >> but the new trailer reveals a ton of clues. first, the nostalgia will full

>> j-hud belting the iconic "memory" in the trailer, james corden as fat cat bustopher jones, and we got a very quick glimpse of taylor swift in the trailer -- 3.5 seconds to be exact. >> i personally think her cat is the sexiest out of all the cats. >> we got to update it in ways that i think are so, so great. >> we've used digital fur technology to create the most perfect covering of fur. >> the "fur technology" proved to be catnip for social media. in addition to many references to mike myers in the "cat in the hat," one user tweeted, me trying to save idris elba from the "cats" trailer movie while another wrote that "cats" movie trailer is pure nightmare fuel. in fact, a lot of people found the trailer to be a little freaky, and we put our own horror music over the trailer and oddly, it totally works. social media was very quick to

give their reaction. so i hit the comic-con floor to get some reviews. >> it's just a little uncanny. a little odd >> i'm looking forward to it. >> it's terrifying. >> it looks really impressive. >> the cats are a little freakish. >> well, taylor swift and james corden, what could go wrong in. >> i haven't seen it. >> i'm very excited. i love the musical "cats." i'm superexcited about this movie. >> are you going to try three -- >> now, i want to know what you think paws up or paws down? paws up? paws down? so we're divided here at comic-con. well, taylor's real-life cat, benjamin button, is also one of the reasons she and katy perry are friends again. katy joked with taylor that she would only come to her house if she could meet him. and speaking of katy, she's got a much more serious fight on
