>>good morning. you're taking a live look at the golden gate bridge this morning where 27,000 runners are making their way through the city for the san francisco marathon now the full marathon kicked off at 5 30 this morning. you can see some of the runners making their way across and back from on the golden gate bridge half marathon got going about 15 minutes ago now if you're driving through the city today be preped to al with those road closures all morning long and you can find a full list of those closures on our website at kron 4 dot com. and happening today, the bay area air quality management district has issued an air quality advisory for smoke for the entire bay area region.

oakland 79. and 90 san jose coming up in a little bit we'll have the 4 zone forecast for you martin okay day, thanks a lot breaking overnight multiple lanes of highway 2 37 in san jose are open again. >>after a pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash. it happened just after 3 30 this morning just west of zanker road. authorities have not yet released much information about that crash and there's no word yet on any other injuries or arrests. and also breaking overnight police have arrested one man another person was injured after a shooting near the oakland coliseum bart station. it happened about 8 o'clock saturday night on san leandro street. a 24 year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot in his left arm. he's listed in stable condition this morning. a 44 year-old man was arrested in connection with that shooting police have not yet released his identity nor a motive. we're learning more this morning about the to be a bay area teenagers who are

arrested for the murder of an italian police officer. police say that 18 year-old gabriel natal gorgeous and 19 year-old finnegan elder stabbed and killed a police officer in rome during a botched drug deal. prosecutors say the 2 who went to school in marine county admitted to the killing. they're expected to be charged with aggravated murder and attempted extortion. the prosecution is calling for a life sentence for the 2 teenagers. state police and the people of rome paid tribute to the slain officer saturday after the teenagers were arrested a funeral is planned for him on monday in rome. finnegan's family has also released a statement saying the senate condolences to the same slain officers family, adding that they have not yet been able to contact their son and they request privacy while they deal with the situation. the officer and recently returned to work following his honeymoon. a san jose police officer won't be returning to work anytime soon after being booked into jail on felony drug and weapons charges. 48

year-old john tomkins was taken into custody on friday. kron four's felipe de gaulle reports that a traffic stop in sunnyvale led to his arrest. i think stop in suale on the 7th of july turned out to be anything but routine. >>when 47 year-old daniel ochoa was pulled over by an officer for a vehicle code violation. >>it happened just a stone's throw away from the sunnyvale department of public safety at the intersection of west el camino reale and hallenbeck avenue ochoa was eventually arrested for selling drugs and when the dps served search warrants a no who lives in santa clara. investigators then learned of a connection between the suspect to 48 year-old san jose police officer john tomkins sunnyvale captain jim choi says he was not in the car at the time information that we have at this time does a show that they were neighbors, however. >>specific into their relationship is not being disclosed at this time this investigation is still ongoing and for that reason i can't

looking for leads in the case of a missing toddler linked to a murder suicide investigation, mary ann davidson has story. >>his parents were both found dead on july 20 or after a car chase with police. 8 in wasn't with them. >>we have 2 individuals we were found deceased in the vehicle, so and a high concern for this child this point, here's what we now. >>a teen was last seen with his parents hannah janney act and daniel sausalito in oregon. they were spotted on walmart surveillance video from early june. but between then and july 24th, their whereabouts are unknown. on july 24th kalispell police pulled over daniel and hannah we're here on highway 93 just north of west preserved right. after a car chase they were found dead in the vehicle. investigators say it looks like a murder suicide, we found nothing that even. >>i'm sure the child was with them. >>investigators are tracking where hannah and daniel were between early june and now and if a gun was with them. take a close look at this. it's the

>>morning event in kron 4 news weekend taking a live look outside beautiful view of the golden gate bridge and if you look real closely on the left side of the screen. you can see some of the runners taking part of the san francisco marathon which is happening this morning. they've already crossed the golden gate into miranda now they're on their way back to continue their on-ice 27 mile run, this far as the with the forecast and it looks like it's a nice day for running that sure they'd like a little bit cooler yeah, well it said temperatures are in the upper 50's in the 60 or so right now they add another decade for the high in san francisco and you have the typical when that are going on there. so have breezy conditions and around the building and so forth but elsewhere around the bay of or anoter hot one we're looking at. here's the shot from lick observatory with the a high cloudiness that we have there as you can see up there to mount hamilton. meanwhile back to the golden gate we're just talking about there is some of the leftover fog but even at this vantage point we can still make out them are inside

change marty okayed a we look forward to that thank you. breaking overnight, multiple lanes of highway 2 37 in san jose are back open after a pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash. it happened just after 3 30 this morning just west of zanker road. authorities not yet released much information about the crash. no word on any other injuries or arrests. they were police in petaluma are looking for a man who robbed the ups driver that driver was unloading some packages outside the horizon store on kenilworth drive when 2 men pushed him and took off with several boxes. they drove off in a car heading southbound on highway one oh one. the thieves got away with a number of cell phones and watches. the driver was not hurt. and police along the creek and created a new outreach program for homeless in that area the kron four's a christina tape cho has more on this. >>this is a new pilot program the city started just about a month ago, there are 2 existing wannacry police officers in charge of it and

the city put out a statement saying over the past decade, they seen a steady increase in homelessness and over the past few years, it's raised a lot of concerns with the community currently they're taking anywhere from 2500 to 3,000 calls involving homelessness a year. the main goals building relationships with the homeless community connecting those who are living in homelessness with services working with residents and businesses to address homeless related issues. lower calls for service. all efforts to help develop long-term solutions to recurring problems. the city is seen. >>officers working closely with the woman becomes task force the trinity center mental health organizations and other city and county agencies with speaking with residents in the area this morning. all said similar things that homelessness though not playing the community has been a big issue over the past few years and there needs to be a solution trans in activity. >>a lot of people sort walking around. and handling that's to the freeway those sorts of things as a father of the

night on san leandro street. a 24 year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in his left arm, this morning, he's listed in stable condition. a 44 year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting but his identity has not yet been released. nor have police released a motive. we're learning more this morning about 2 bay area teenagers arrested for the murder of an italian police officer in rome. police say 18 year-old gabriel natale hoarders and 13 year-old finnegan elder stabbed and killed a police officer dan rome during a botched drug deal. prosecutors say the 2 who went to school in marine county have admitted to the killing. they're expected to be charged with aggravated murder and attempted extortion. the prosecution is calling for a life sentence for the 2 teenagers. state police and the people of rome paid tribute to the slain officer saturday after the teenagers were arrested a funeral is planned for tomorrow in rome. finnegan's family also

san jose by the way looks like a r d all thanks a lot. well breaking overnight multiple lanes of highway 30 to 37 in san jose are reopened after a pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash. it happened just after 3 30 this morning just west of zanker road. >>authorities have not yet released a lot of information about this crash and there's no word about any other injuries or or s. to the north bay where police and had a loom are looking for a man who robbed the ups driver that driver was unloading packages outside of a rise in store on kenilworth drive when 2 men suddenly pushed him and took office several boxes, they drove off in a car heading southbound on highway one oh one. the thieves got away with a number of cell phones and watches. the driver was not hurt. to the east bay where police on the creek and created a new outreach program for homeless in the area kron four's chris christie that h o now has more on that.

>>this is a new pilot program the city started just about a month ago, there are 2 existing wannacry police officers in charge of it and the city put out a statement saying over the past decade, they seen a steady increase in homelessness and over the past few years, it's raised a lot of concerns with the community currently they're taking anywhere from 2500 to 3,000 calls involving homelessness a year. the main goals building relationships with the homeless community connecting those who are living in homelessness with services working with residents and businesses to address how most related issues, lower calls for service. all efforts to help develop long-term solutions to recurring problems. the city is seen. >>officers working closely with the woman becomes task force the trinity center mental health organizations and other city and county agencies with speaking with residents in the area this morning. all said similar things that homelessness though not playing the community has been a big issue over the past few years and there needs to be a solution trans in activity. >>a lot of people sort walking

and there's no word on any other injuries or any arrests that were made. >>also breaking overnight police arrested one man another person was injured following a shooting near the oakland coliseum bart station. it happened about 8 o'clock last night on san leandro street. a 24 year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot in his left arm he's listed in stable condition at the hospital this morning. a 44 year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting but his identity has not yet been released nor a talk about a motive. more this morning about the 2 bay area teenagers arrested for the murder of an italian police officer in rome. police say 18 year-old gabriel natalia corgis and 19 year-old finnegan elders stabbed and killed a police officer in rome during a botched drug deal. prosecutors say that the 2 who went to school in marine county admitted to the killing. they're expected to be charged with aggravated murder and attempted extortion. the prosecution calling for a life sentence for the 2 teenagers. state

what's waiting for you this summer and the best tip i can give to people getting in early and make use of that shuttle system to move around yosemite valley. ali that really is the best way to go isn't it absolutely is when you first get there might be a little overwhelming you don't quite know where to go you know that they'll get you there and they're all very friendly and nice now the one thing that i do recommend a lot of people spend their time in the valley. glacier point oh yeah that this 2 ways essentially to get there you can lace up your boots for a hard hike or get in the car. it's about a 45 minute to an hour drive. the scenery just is spectacular. well worth the field when we drove up there last fall i notice a lot of still a lot of the fire damage. >>absolutely and you will see that yet but that's part of the reason i think you go to the scenery is one thing that this is where you get the lay of the land, especially if you spent the day before or the morning in the valley when you're up here, you that's where we're at i was hiking, i
