tracks in the east bay, so you should expect delays to continue in contra costa county. >>train service between walnut creek lafayette in or in the bart stations remain closed. now crews are replacing the 50 year-old tracks along with other upgrades, bart has buses running between those stations but riders that delays could take up to 40 minutes and if

you're driving eastbound on highway 24 the repair work could cause 30 minute delays. >>we're replacing about 10,000 feet train control cable were placing more than 300 insulators which help to stabilize the 3rd rail which powers are trains were doing tile work here at the lafayette station we're placing nearly pounds of ballast a rocket used to stabilize the track so when we get a shutdown we make the most of our time. >>it is a lot going on with the construction work is on schedule to finish up around 5 o'clock tomorrow morning. just in time for the commute. and beginning monday paper tickets will no longer be available at the embarcadero bart station in san francisco. this is all part of a move to encourage a riders to use clipper cards. martin will also be phasing out paper ticket sales at the powell street in downtown berkeley station beginning next month. customers will still be able to use and reload paper tickets at those stations, but bart's a goal is to transition to clipper cards only by next year. date.

66, san francisco oakland ultimately 70 to 80 going on for san jose. coming up we'll check in your 4 zone forecast marty sounds good a scene a few minutes. thank you, let's go to the south bay 3 people are facing charges this morning following a robbery at a hotel in millbrae the robbery ppened back in june at the executive inn on dempsey road. the victim told police the 2 men and a woman assaulted and then took his wallet and other belongings. the victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. he was i'm able to identify the woman is 28 year-old allie holcomb on a saturday police track down the other suspects at a hotel room. they were taken into the santa clara county jail. in the east bay, the search is on for a purse snatcher in walnut creek, a woman was closing up us along with the thief walked and stole her purse right out of the big break room and it was all caught on camera kron four's dan thorn has the details. security video from a walnut creek hair salon shows a woman wearing a baseball cap.

water. crews are still working this morning to get the water conditions back to normal. a person was injured in a backyard deck fire in san francisco. it happened saturday afternoon on argo boulevard near turk a burn victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. no residents, however were displaced by the fire and fire crews say that the damage was minor. 2 state lawmakers are pushing a bill that would ban the use of facial recognition technology in body on police body cameras. they say the danger of false positives are simply too high. the aclu use 120 members of the state legislature against a mug shot database using facial recognition technology and that system produced 26 false matches one of those matches involved san francisco assemblyman phil ting it identified him as a potential criminal with previous arrest records. the bill would fit would ban facial recognition software in body. police body cameras, even those now currently used by california

bringing them to the beach to teach people about the has the history and the tradition so really kind of become rare even even lot of lions don't know what they are so it's not really a competition if it well it's a competition in the sense and it goes all summer long and they go. and yes, it is a competition but in this respect for the festival the really coming in to kind of promote word and show how important it is alive and keep it alive, you know, but you also get to go out on the water. all right, i mean as much as the history and culture is important if you're on the beach they'll take out for free right because they want you to see and when they're not on water. they'r part of the beach so it's really easy to get that kind of up close she word and if you have a question the crews are all willing to talk the crews are all just normal people, you know they have day jobs and they kind of do this also this year hobby this is their home. i said there have happy to share getting folks out on the water, it looks fantastic. it it's a whole heck of a lot of fun. the canoeing that most people are familiar with and why is outrigger canoe yes and this

one of the other things kind of polly is known for really all year round not just in the summer snorkeling one of the most popular stretches is an area called black rob us of her death, yeah down toward the north to the northern end of the beach. it's a beautiful stretch you're not going to have it all to yourself in this yeah, but it's what's under that water that you're going to love and along in the same journal exactly beautiful put on that snorkel gear right on the sand and walk right in and this is what's waiting for you this is literally just walk right and literally just walked right in and that's why it's one of my favorite activity sure has it so easy families that anything you want to get out. this is that airline ia you load up right on the beach and out you go we were headed alloa bay, but we had you can see we had company spinner dolphins along for the ride when she died in this is what's waiting. this is right it out salute hawaii is absolutely stunning on top of the water, but if you take the time to get below the surface. this is you're rewarded with

these guys were truly same, you know swimming like a football field's length away from us. couple people said they had reports of them coming in close, some misses what you get where lots of sunscreen i remember be safe because why they were the first the country has very safe but getting hotter dead in the water. i think we need to go we need go all right the way to do thank you.

california tortoise shell butterflies are taking over the lake tahoe area to spectacular sight and it's wowing tourists. >>and hikers alike now the meeting senior season increases in the butterflies a may be normal but a local say they don't remember the last time they've seen this many butterflies look at the mall there. and paula just however

says these this year's numbers aren't exactly record breaking. and come next month the butterflies will be making their way to the foot hills whether hibernate and then they'll be back in the sierra next spring. da's office has a brand new member and mary is his name is bear his job is to help victims and children and high stress situations. the 2 year old lab and irwin special training in santa rosa in response to about 40 different commands in both english and in spanish, the nonprofit canine companions for independence paired bear with the da's office and they did it for free. a heartfelt reunion in stockton between a stolen support dog and her owner sloane is a service dog percent this long 12 year-old autistic son. he was on his way home with sloan a little over a week ago when someone stole the family's car with sloan inside. cynthia says they got hundreds of tips in the days since loan was taken and is very happy that this one finally paid off. and now the so happy and so pleased that sloan is back home.
