some of those winds that we expect for today into the into tomorrow to party. all right dave thanks a lot. we begin with breaking news this morning in richmond. there are at least 3 people there were injured in a shooting near de anza high school kron four's because christina live now from richmond she has the latest on the shooting overnight. christina good morning. >>well good morning. marty there's not a lot of information yet that's been put out by police officers, but we can tell you and show you basically exactly where it happened in a slight overview of it. and justin martin mentioned it at the same cross trees stands a high school which is here at morningside drive and valley view now offers officers with the richmond police department said that around 9.20 a last night there was a fight that happened right this cross streets now has the officers were approaching the scene shots were fired. officers located 2 victims who are suffering from gunshot wounds, the victims were taken to the hospital. police said a 3rd victim arrived at the hospital a later time one person they

did not see. on scene when they got here now right now. no identities been released and we're still wondering how this happened and how this fight happened we're going to continue to search out this information for you. >>but this case is still under investigation for now reporting live here in richmond christina tetreault kron 4 news all right christine we'll check in with you about an hour for an update. >>on to other news this morning also in the east bay, a catholic priest in fremont at freeman church there will spend close to 5 years in state prison on molestation charges. father hector mendoza vela's accused of molesting a boy in hayward over an 18 month period in 2016 17. investigators arrested him back in march of elah made a plea deal in august, a in addition to the prison term. the agreement calls for villa to register as a sex-offender for the rest of his life and to stay away from the victim for 10 years. a return man has been convicted of rape and murder in in the attack of an 81 year-old woman back in

news this morning, another person has died from vaping-related illnesses is the country's 14th death 2 of those from california and now a school board on the peninsula is taking matters into its own hands. kron four's felipe gaulle reports from redwood city where a middle school will soon be equipped with vape detectors. >>they've detectors will soon be installed in 8 boys and girls restrooms at john f kennedy middle school in redwood city, this after the redwood city school district board of trustees unanimously voted to move forward with the pilot project wednesday night earlier this week, the state department of health advised californians to immediately stop vaping in light of a dozen vape related deaths reported across the country we've seen what's going on at the national level. >>and we're trying to prevent a tragedy like that happening and in our schools for taking with the school district says manufacturing company siemens was awarded the contract to install the devices.

recent crimes, the pastor says the church loves being in the area and being a part of this neighborhood. >>and we are sorry that there are people in the world. if you need something. help you with it reporting in san jose dan thorn. >>kron 4 news. >>in san francisco, one neighborhood has taken a very unique approach to trying to keep homeless people out of their neighborhood not sidewalks kron four's dan kerman shows us what they're doing. >>for some time residents who live along clinton park near dillard's street have had to deal with homeless people setting up tents across the street. then earlier this month 2 dozen of these boulders suddenly appeared along the sidewalk. residents say it's reduce the number of homeless people and tense in the area. i do feel safer. but. >>at the same time, there's still homeless people have liked yesterday. there was the homeless people camped out. >>well many had thought the city brought in the boulders.

it's now believe some of those who live here paid for them, but not everyone who lives in the neighborhood supports the idea. artist daniel baskin was so put off by the idea this week she announced on craigslist that she was giving away free stone boulders in hopes someone would come and cart them away. she says boulders are not a solution. baskin tweeted that her posts were taken down from craigslist but she says if it started a discussion then it's well worth it as far as the city's position know they say they were not the ones to put the boulders ia but they want them to stay in fact.

we're back with the national news the us special envoy to ukraine court heard volcker has resigned. it happened just one day after the release of a whistleblower report flagging president trump's controversial call with ukraine's president on that call the president asked the ukrainian leader to dig up some dirt on trump's possible 2020 opponent, joe biden along with his son. according to the report volcker set up a meeting between trump's personal attorney rudy giuliani and an advisor to ukraine's president. the idea was to move the discussion about biden out of official white house communications. congress has said it will hold a deposition for volcker next week. and secretary of state
