>>oh yeah, the ski season is off to a great start. this is a big bear lake resort in southern california. they got about 4 feet of snow during the first couple days of its season and more snow fell there overnight, let's go ahead and take a live look at the resort this morning, i looks like a nice start to the day there. unfortunately, though all that snow closed a lot of the roads in the area that led to the resort that made for tough and made it tough for people to get there and enjoy all the fresh snow is hopefully things will clear up this weekend. your nice thing to israel palm springs areas today high stram up all this adds up to like a 1000 feet whatever it so yeah, so you can see all the snow even though down there shortly as you don't have to drive up there that's that. always think about us so it's a it's a more of the same both for them and for us marty a more snows for amount the push a little bit higher but boy what an unsettled weekend looks
7:16 am
ominous for me to yeah, storms on the way it is it's it's licking its chops and that's how we start our day off maybe couple little sprinkles and so forth out there, but basically lot of cloud cover will start things off with winds how they do because they tell the tale for a lot of this too. here comes the uptick on all of us about 2 o'clock in the afternoon you could fill building. but strong southeasterly wind in place and that remains in place all day long not just of the coastal areas but penetrating inland as well with those high winds we've got good coverage. but for a long period of time this is all the way out to 11 almost midnight tonight. the wind package continues overnight that stress to poke some holes here of the intensity will not be so great and much of the east bay in the north bay except for some of those higher elevations of ticket, the coast. it will be very rough. that's where they have a high wind warning that's been in place when with for this time period. winds remain as we see through sunday, although it won't be as sustained is what we're going to see on saturday before we start to kick the winds off the curb a little bit by late on sunday itself
7:17 am
about the precipitation part we start off with the light to moderate rain showers at the coastal areas by say high noon much of the inland areas haven't been penetrated by the moderate rain at this point of the storm. it unfolds all day word 8 o'clock and yet a new juicy wave out here that's going to drive some winds for saturday night in the sunday, here's what the progress is not noticed out of the south they here for tomorrow. there's more concentration, those heavier rain showers for the south bay in the east bay anaconda bubbles up from the south to again strike the north bay yet again. the good news is at least in the north it will be getting some kind of more of a scatter type although heavy rain showers for sunday, but still we're looking for flash flooding to be a problem and it's also the snows in the mountains of putting this together flash flood watch north bay. moderate rain by noon on the west and then that penetrates inland throughout the day at the coast a high wind warning heavy rain for the afternoon and then tomorrow, whether statements remain in place.
7:18 am
heavy rain for the south bay and the east bay and again that will bubble up to the north a little bit to the late afternoon evening hours here it is the atmospheric river in place it has break senate. but the general idea is we get the sub subtropical moisture coming up from the south. that also raises the snow levels in places like the sierra that's why the snow levels were talking about will be about 7,000 feet so but higher up because of this more a modern air mass, 53 per san francisco's high today 52 for oakland, 54 san jose looks like this is going to hang around or early next week we'll be talking more about that extended forecast a party in london have identified the 28 year-old a newsman com and as the man who stabbed and killed 2 people on london bridge friday. he was out of prison on supervisedrobation after serving 6 years in prison on terrorism charges. police say that bystanders save lives by subduing con.
