the golden gate again that blue morning was talking about we have kind of the overcast sky conditions already in place to be some breaks in the clouds a little bit to today but kind of an overcast day u c berkeley shot, there's the east bay shoreline off to the distance again more blues you can see from the bay as well satellite picture, the rain is far away from home for now, but this line is expected to drop south across the bay. late for tonight will be time that out for you waking up to a little bit away some fog around the delta and portions of the north bay. but look what happens in the aftermath as we go forward all the way to tomorrow morning. boy the whole bay area gets hit by fog. this will be probably the type of radiation fog that's a little different type of fog we get usually in the wake of a rain storm like that which we expect for tonight. temperatures in the 40's and 50's hodgepodge not a big climb from where we stand for right now we don't expect were trailing a little bit in some of the inland areas around the bay itself a couple degrees. actually ahead of yesterday. shot from the sfo who looks like no delays happening now good news there close to the

holidays here. temperatures about 55 at 11 a 2 o'clock we're talking about 59. now in the package for the storm tonight. we're expecting some winds. there is a wind advisory that's been posted but it's not everywhere, it's really the east bay, protecting the hills and out of some of the hills down to the south bay as well peninsula not in there in the north bay, not in there, although will be plenty breezy. we'll let you know about where and why and timing of all of this coming up at that party sounds good dave, thanks a lot. let's get the news this morning breaking overnight the chp is investigating a single vehicle deadly crash in contra costa county. it happened on vasco road near bloke all lanes were blocked around 3 o'clock this morning because of the crash. but the chp hasn't released any other information so far on the victim, the cause or when the road will be reopened. also in the span ups worker that was supposed to be delivering packages for the holidays is in police custody, this morning for taking the contents of someone's package.

police say that she forged the signature for the delivery before grabbing the package and simply walking away kron four's dan thorn has more details now from people. >>surveillance video from a home in piedmont captures a ups not delivering but stealing an expensive ipad was supposed to be signed sealed and delivered but the victim instead got an empty box in this case, it is a little unique in and out of the ordinary captain chris monaghan with piedmont pd says the suspect 40 year-old unique alley was a seasonal driver's aid for u p s the company uses aids to he make deliveries more efficient by giving the driver a second set of hands this holiday season alley apparently had other plans see agent of the delivery service. delivering the package signed for the package. >>open the package up remove the item. and then walked back to the delivery truck police say this video shows it happening at a home on saint

james place alley is seen walking with the package in hand tuesday night. >>she is then seen walking away from the house is if the job was done. but the owners who were home at the time didn't see their package once they were alerted, it was delivered. they quickly called police after reviewing their security cameras. police say they were able to identify alley with the help of u p s she was later arrested while making another round of deliveries on thursday. captain monahan says for people getting packages sent to their home this holiday season. it's crucial to actually be there at the time of the delivery have packages either deliver to work. >>2 neighbors to relatives to people that are home actually received the package. your package on your porch is at risk. >>reporting in piedmont dan thorn kron 4 news. >>and in san ramon police say they tracked down 3 package thieves after getting a good description of one of the thieves. police say they found content from the stolen packages in the suspect's car

on wednesday along with suspected methamphetamine drug paraphernalia and more police arrested all 3 people inside that car. package in vehicle thefts are getting a lot of attention this holiday season rpand police departments across the country are launching efforts to crack down on touts and educate everyone on how not to become a victim. >>don't leave anything visible even if you think it's in significant, you know these thieves don't all they're going to see a shopping bag you can be empty. but the smashed window and they're going to grab it. even something simple as a gym bag that you might just have clothes in there that they don't know what's in there that's very tempting also like i said don't leave your cell phones behind don't leave your electronics. >>police say the thieves often watch for people stashing bags in their car before they go back into the mall to shop, san jose police say that they will have extra but or patrols at area malls to keep an eye on potential thieves. oakland police arrested a man for robbing 4 cell phone stores

over the past few months d'andre campbell is facing 9 counts of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. the most recent highs happened on december 4th at a metro by t mobile store near 62nd avenue and international boulevard in oakland. the surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt inside the oakland cell phone store. police are getting ahead of car burglaries with a stealthy strategy. they are placing a vehicle in a parking lot now in this case near a 24 hour fitness gym. inside was an undisclosed as bait also in the car there was a gps tracking device. police used to track down 2 burglary suspects. joshua kite and gavin chill. our police say the best defense is holiday season is not to leave anything of value inside your vehicle while the creek say that a car burglaries have to now burglars have to think twice before smashing a window and grabbing an item that could be the decoys that could

>>good morning, we're back on kron 4 news weekend taking a live look outside at sfo going to be a very busy place this weekend in fact the airport said that yesterday and today expected to be the busiest travel days before christmas on friday more than 180,180 1183 1000 passengers traveled through the airport to so far has been about 323 delays and more than 33 cancellations tomorrow's was be another busy very busy day with 10172,000 travelers expected san jose monette international airport reported just a 71 delays friday, and no cancellations going across the bay to oakland same the situation there pretty much of a say over the 15 day period between friday and january 5th there will be more than 385,000 passengers departing from the airport. airport officials say

those donations in all of those toys that you the community donated throughout the past year for them for kind of their toy box drive which is an opportunity families to go ahead and get presents for their kid knows that may not be able normally get them but get this they are going to obviously be doing that today it starts in just about an hour here people coming in to go ahead insert those but the organization is also still collecting i different donations that can give to them so that they can help families have the best christmas and we actually have a really incredible number the organization's goal is to actually distribute over 18,500 toys to help families the community celebrate the holidays. they've actually been doing this in the community for over 55 years now there is an opportunity today if you still would like to go ahead and donate you can still do so here at their location we will have more information on all donations online over kron 4 dot com. but their toy drive that

>>the other deputy involved in this incident. deputy jason little is still on paid administrative leave the sheriff tells me that the department is now reviewing its policies and procedures at the sonoma county sheriff's office. i'm justine waldman kron 4 news. >>also in the north bay, a heartbreaking incident as a 7 year-old boy died after a plague out playground accident at a private school in sandra fell. it happened thursday at marred a school police say that a movable rolling fence. use at the entrance to the parking lot somehow came off its track fell over and hit the boy knocking him unconscious. the school says other students and staff witnessed the accident and they tried to provide aid for the boy first responders rushed to the scene but the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. now the school is working with police to try and figure out what happened they've closed off a section of the campus where the accident happened. our day school released this statement saying quote the death of someone so young is devastating for all of us and

before she grabbed the package and just walked away kron four's dan thorn has more now from piedmont. >>surveillance video from a home in piedmont captures a ups not delivering but stealing an expensive ipad was supposed to be signed sealed and delivered but the victim instead got an empty box in this case, it is a little unique in and out of the ordinary. captain chris monaghan with piedmont pd says the suspect 40 year-old unique alley was a seasonal driver's aid for u p s the company uses aids to help make deliveries more efficient by giving the driver a second set of hands. this holiday season alley apparently had other plans see agent of the delivery service. >>delivering the package signed for the package. opened the package up remove the item. and then walked back to the delivery truck police say this video shows it happening at a home on saint james place alley is seen walking with the package in hand tuesday night.

toy box stays this way boxes are today's the 23th and 24th for families who have red shirt can actually come in and choose toys for their kiddos you may be families who were unable to provide that for their kids on christmas day. so of course with thousands of toys for the thousands of children there's a lot of work to be done to there are hundreds of volunteers today as well throughout the weekend helping to sort all the toys and actually transform sacred heart's facility here is a kind of workshop or a gingerbread house or there's a lot of exciting things going on and of course we've got these hundreds of volunteers actually of what one family here who volleys on tear the past 3 years this is the ricks family and i want to know how she was first hear about volunteering for this. >>we first got involved through my work off of that works he's a big supporter of sick or hurt. so we started 3 years ago has a family coming donate to their christmas toy drive and today you guys are helping sort all these toys for everyone who it make you girls feel to go in and do this and kind of be a part of

african american passengers are cited for fair eviction or evasion rather than more than any other group. some charge that african-americans are being targeted. bart has been trying to crack down on fare evaders for some time that cost the agency up to $25 million every year. there are more fair inspectors on trains and in stations now but between july of last year in june of this year, 46% of the riders ticketed by officers identified themselves as african american. 18% were white 15% latino and 4% asian. bart officials say this doesn't mean officers are targeting any one group bart is insisting that the system is in place to make sure there isn't any discrimination in this process saying that they inspect every passenger during specific times and locations we're fare evasions happened most often and it's all recorded on body cams if you are cited you can pay it off with the community service otherwise the penalty will cost $75 for adults and $55
