here we have the forces behind and we are 9 years a kind of the sky there so started off a little bit of haze going on here that it will mix out for basically a mostly sunny sky conditions were looking for picking the inland areas going on today, there's the shot of the golden gate again a little bit of haze to start things off a little bit of a red haze bit there this is what it looks like on the satellite radar picture all the cloudiness is up north it's the front that you're going to hear with the winds more than anything else may be little scattered showers in the north bay potentially with all of this want to know some of this fog that should clear out in the morning hours here pretty quickly by high noon, although hanging around the delta little bit. temperatures for us now little chilly 30's and 40's up to the north and the east bay shoreline near 50 for oakland, but dropping to 48 hayward inland, we're looking at 40 for livermore and any off 45 little chillier this morning. we saw yesterday behind the front and behind the wind stuff we're going to be having some cooler temperatures to start your mornings out that will be monday. and up monday morning, particularly we do have gusty

>>good morning, welcome back to kron 4 news weekend taking a live look outside at sfo you can make out the red and gold colors set in front of the terminal there other landmarks around san francisco that are done up in niners colors of course city all and coy tower and sfo as the sun starts to rise and colors are fading just a bit we can still make them out this morning is in our hearts anyway, that's right you're telling me super bowl weather tomorrow in miami should be about perfect for the game timing of this uh you know you we had out there sarah stinson telling us about how they had thunder showers there's no word yet to come however, this is all going to clear out just in time for the game i mean perfectly times the skies will actually open up. >>and temperatures will not

too bad either we have kind of a golden kind of reddish you hear that start to fade to as the sun is joining us alcatraz in the foreground san francisco behind it taking care of little bit of morning fog. hayes we got going on here, there's the golden gate same deal as well, here's a little dry front for the most part expected to traverse right across the bay area looks like going on today. and more importantly tonight now it's going to bring winds on the backside that will technically be offshore that will dry us out a little bit not advanced everything out here saturday tonight at 11 starts with the wait for the winds to pick up until later tonight here they come. there's your coverage area going on tomorrow morning about 9 so you can see back on the home front here. it will be quite windy already by 9 o'clock with winds estimation with those gusts in the 20 mile per hour range. but the other reason for this posting in this is a a high wind watch at this point it might be upgraded to a high wind warning is because the time period it's going to be all day tomorrow and then overnight even as late as

monday. we're still looking at some winds and notice the winds pick up a little bit around the delta east to the east bay hills which technically are not in the high wind warnings owner watch zone. but will still be getting some wins and some of those valleys in the inland areas, let's watch the front come on through here in future cast for here comes the cloud cover going on overnight by sunday morning. we have some lingering cloud cover to deal with basically it's a dry front. so maybe a couple sprinkles up there in the north bay potentially that that clears out very nicely for the afternoon, but windy in your afternoon. there are some of those mountain snows up with the sierra and then meanwhile, another dose of some scattered showers going on off shore by sunday night by this point we're going to have kind of a dry deck of air over us we might have some burga fighting and that about that rain coming through few scattered clouds on tap today, mild conditions tonight we're talking cloudy, turning windy bay area sprinkle north bay possible the next week cold mornings, particularly on tuesday morning after all of this push through and we have the dry air clear skies recipe to let those temperatures fall might revisit some 20's going

apartments on the 300 block of west 20th reet. she then left and returned with 2 other men. that's when shots re fired into martinez's apartment. an innocent bystander who had nothing to do with the initial argument it is very frustrating when you have a case like this and y have a juvenile victim or any victim really. >>and you can bring some sort of closure to the family in the immediate. >>time frame but ultimately investigators never gave up and tips from the public helped crack this case. carter was arrested thsday in pittsburgh and taken into custody for murder most crimes are solved with the assistance of our community members and realistically we can be there. but they can often have firsthand knowledge that we don't have and it's not until we can obtn a firsthand knowledge that we could follow up on those leads. >>and developed suspects and ultimately be able to make arrests like we did in this case and this case is not closed captain schmidt says more arrests could be made. >>in antioch felipe gaulle kron 4 news. kron 4 news

all right dave thanks a lot. let's get to story we've been following for a couple of weeks now the corona virus outbreak. >>now starting tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock foreign nationals who have traveled in china within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the us. president trump signed that order friday after the us declared a public health emergency. also on friday santa clara county announced its first case of the corona virus. it's a first for the bay area but the 7th case in the entire country. right now there are 2 confirmed cases in southern california and out la and orange counties. there is also to patients and sick in chicago, one in washington state and one in arizona. the increase in the number of cases is dramatic in china as that country reported the corona virus has killed. 259 people and nearly 12,000 people are now infected with the virus. the outbreak started in the city of will hon and this is how the city looks today, it's virtually

these bay police in union city are investigating another officer-involved shooting a viewer sent us this video of the incident the shooting happened about 7 friday evening in union city fremont police say the robbery happened at us up for a store at fremont specific common shopping center. they and police chased a getaway car to an area near all don't aisles an 8.80 police say they fired shots at the 3 suspects one of them was arrested. the other 2 been taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. union city police and fremont police continue their investigation this morning. also in the east bay police have arrested all 3 people in connection with that deadly laptop theft in oakland, a they are all now in custody. sure shang died back on new year's eve ball chase scene after thieves who stole his laptop from a starbucks in

kron 4 morning news, good morning, everybody taking a live look at sfo we have some traffic going on there. but there is a bit of delay at 37 minutes or so we're dealing with some of this morning fog. >>which trying to mix out. here's another perspective of that as we take a look at the east bay hills down looking the east bay shoreline and that hayes still left in the

skies. so we have a high is going on here today in the lower 70's for central valley, central coast mid to lower 60's, not too bad here, and actually tomorrow, although it will be sunny as well look for temperatures a little cooler than today down the so cal upper 70's territory that's pretty pleasant as well that's all the obviously all prefrontal here's what's going on that big a line of white you see there that's a the cloud cover and that's the front a fairly dry front at that. so will be big in the winds with all of that and the cloud cover going on for tonight, switching gears back to the east coast again miami or expecting another dose of rain to some heavy rain this afternoon with thunder shers. it's almost somewhat tropical there's the beach locations are noting. water temperatures serve temperature lower 70's. that's like san diego in july right now future cast wind gust checking things out as we go into the afternoon. not much happens overnight sunday morning here the winds starting to kick in covering the north bay peninsula but not so much the

foody destination. >> i know. especially knowing what this neighborhood really was all about even 10 years ago. it's changed so much. and to see places li the salty donut. >> the salty donut. the line is outside the salty donut on any given day, and they sell out. they don't even have a time when they close. it's until we sell out. >> cheers. >> i have had coffee. >> no, no, cheers with the donut. >> cheers with my vegan donut. >> yeah. ♪ ♪ >> you know, wynwood walls, what iis today is not what it was 15 years ago. i think the wynwood walls in particular, to see all this art, to see all this inspiration, it's amazing because it's a testament to what miami is all about and the changes and the growth and the positivity that ha come to this area. >> and inclusion, i thin this is very much a place about that, giving peopla chance. and i don't know. it's a real, real melting pot.

>> welcome back to "the big game tailgate." we are in the host city of miami enjoying the sights. now, some of us around the country do not have the luxury of celebrating the big game outside in sunny weather. >> yes, we are lucky, cyndi. for most of us braving those frigid temperatures, we have to home-gate. we caught up with the ceo. chief entertaining officer tim laird to show us how to do it right. >> and i really learned a lot from him. he is america's chief entertaining officer tim laird, good to see you. you're also the author of "the bourbon country cookbook." and you have put out quite a display for us today. >> cyndi, we have some great ideas for your home-gating party r the big game. i'll tell you what. i always like to start out with a signature cocktail. makes it easy. and this is what i call the red zone. and what i like about this is

the garnish, which is these dried cranberries actually go up and down the glass like your team is coming in for a touchdown. so i love that. >> i love it, too. >> so here's how easy this cocktail is. starts out with a little korbel champagne. >> nice. >> of course, you can use champagne to toast on your winning team. >> exactly. >> just no spraying, though, like in the locker room. >> no, none of that. too messy. >> starts out with a little korbel champagne, to that a little bit of cranberry juice because again it's the red zone cocktail. >> nice color, yes. >> here's my garnish, all those cranberries. >> i call them mini footballs. >> mini footballs, so here it is. cheers. and actually yours is an alcohol-free version >> oh, wow >> that i ma with lemon lime soda. >> we have got some chili here. >> now, here's a great idea. i start out by making a vegetarian-based chili. and it really is simple with just some tomatoes you see the peppers, onion, a little garlic, a little and oregano.ime, some cumin really simple and green chilis. that all can be made well

ahead of time. >> good. >> but then actually it will serve everyby because i put out different toppers. so even if you want to have some ground beef, you can put it in there. >> sure, for the meat lovers. >> for the carnivores, absolutely. beans, a little of fritos, jalapenos, crackers, cheese. >> yes please to all of those. >> absolutely. so your guests actually can build their own bowl of chili and season it like they want. if they want hot sauce, pour it on. if not, let them do their own thing. >> even better for the host because then you just stand back and say help yourselves. >> let it go. >> love that. >> what i so like about this is the versatility of this chili. what i use it for is actually for nachos. again, you can build your own. >> sure. >> have your guests help themselves. a little bit of chili dogs, that's always a favorite around the big game time. and even a little pasta marinara you can make with that same chili base. and that's really simple and easy. and again, let your fans serve themselves. >> yes. >> that way you can sit back. >> concentrate on the game. >> enjoy the game. >> yes, not worry about anything. and everybody is happy because they all get what they want.

it's all customizable. >> right. and of course, we cannot forget about the end zone dessert down here. this is a good finale of the game. i love this. this is my bourbon pecan fudge, real easy that comes out of the "bourbon country cookbook." you can actually start it by making it in the microwave, by melting the chocolates. >> what? >> absoluty, real easy. it makes a lot, so i like to cut them up into individual serving pieces so your fans can grab and go and not miss any of the action. >> very few ingredients in that fudge, right? >> right, very few. just fun and easy. >> do i end up putting them in the fridge? is that how it works? >> give it a try. you bet, see what you think. see how we did. what do you think? >> that is unbelievably good. >> isn't that great how the bourbon and chocolate go together with the pecans? >> what game? >> it's a trle game. isn't it good? >> i'm going to your place. >> and, of course, i put them in little easy to grab and go bite-sized. so again, no hassles with your friends and you can watch the big game and have fun. >> no wonder they call you the chief entertaining officer. tim laird, thank you very much. >> cheers, cyndi. >> cheers. >> to the big game. >> enjoy the game. >> he is so fantastic. tim's latest book is called "the bourbon country cookbook." >> before we go to break, check out another tailgate game. >> this is knock-off disk toss. the rules are simple. the game starts with one or two players standing behind their pos. then you place a fun target on the top of the pole like a ball, stuffed animal, really anything you want. we are using a water bottle. the aim of the game is to throw the disk and try to hit the other team's pole or the object on top. the defending am will try to catch the disk or the object if it's hit. watch out, this game gets pretty competitive.

celebrity chef, "chopped" champion and philanthropist. chef calvo, take it away. ♪ ♪ >> thanks, cyndi. thanks, cameron. and welcome to cracked. cracked is kind of like the restaurant of my dreams. it took me about 10 years to create a fine casual concept. it's basically fast food slow. so, for example, here we have our sweet chili and garlic glazed chicken wings. our chicken is completely free range. it's artisanal ingredients. we make every single sauce from scratch here we use a heritage pork to make pork belly. and we pickle our own onions. we make our chimichurri every single day by hand. our chicken sandwich, we make our slaw from scratch, our pickles from scratch, our saes from scratch. and then our pepperoni pizza fries, we actually make mornay ke the classic mother french sauce. we have brooklyn style pepperonis. we make our marinara.

it's just a burst of flavor. cracked was actually born out of our custome going over to chef adrianne's for a decade and saying this food is so good. wh do you put in this food? i always wanted to create a menu where it's not so elevated. but at the same time we are elevating fast food. and we just love feeding people here. we love creating memories with them like with the gia milkshake. they are feasting on a chicken sandwich or a group of friends came together to celebrate, you know, a sweet 16 and they are munching on pepperoni pizza fries. so it was food that was outrageously delicious but not necessarily complicated. i think miami is the perfect city for the big game because the city's pulse is so -- i mean it's so out there that i think it's going to match that of the big game. the city is bursting with so many cultures. the flavors of the food, it matches the flavors of the people here. anywhere you can party, you can go and just listen to music. you can have all types of cuisines. you can sit at a bookshop and

just talk to people from all parts of the world. i think it's going to be a great big game. i personally love miami because you can go to like the riverfront here and you can go to some of the best seafood restaurants in america. you can talk with the fishermen and get the local catch. the same way you can go to somebody's grandmother's kitchen pretty much and go to like a cuban restaurant that recipes have been handed down from generations. or you can go to your local coffee shop and just talk sports. miami has got a lot, a lot of culture. so if you are as allergic to boring as i am and you're tired of boring food and want a bite of some really great deliciousness, come to cracked. if you are in miami for the big game or at any time, i >> that is certainly ay hi. must-see when you come to miami. >> yes. and don't go away, we have more of "the big game tailgate."

[laughter] >> yeah, that's right, we got here by my yacht. we have the whole lounge area, the pool is gorgeous, service outstanding. >> the food last night, amazing. >> we will be back. >> we will. the nfc and the afc, cyndi, they now have champions and they are meeting on the gridiron this weekend. >> just as important, can their cities' culinary delights compete? we met up with former "master chef" contestant jeff philbin to find out. >> we are at show and tell in tampa's armature works. >> yes, and clef jeff is here to join us. >> and we are talking food. kansas city taking on san francisco on the field, but today they are taking on each other in the kitchen. >> absutely. i mean the great thi about the big game is when you get

to be able to share your love for food and those cities being represented, and we're going to have a lot of fun today making a barbecue sauce because that is kansas city right there. a nice sweet and tangy sauce and a little bit of fun with some san francisco because, you know what, there was a really cool restaurant that was my favorite and now it's going to be your favorite. >> have you had barbecue in kansas city? >> you know i have not. >> have you? >> yes, i have. yes, i used to live in missouri and so it's not too far and i had the barbecue. it's pretty dang awesome. >> you have to work with me on this one and really make se we have it right then. i put a little bit of oil into a pan and some garlic. [sizzling] >> so we're making the sauce -- well, not we, chef jeff is making the sauce from scratch. >> yeah. >> something i would never do. [laughter] >> that's what's kind of fun about when you get to cook a little bit and you have a big game, you want to show off. you're having all your friends coming over. >> that's true. >> so you want to. yove got garlic, you've a little bit of oil. you've got chili powder. we have got tomato paste. we really want that to brown a

nice little bit and turn to that color. >> chef jeff, you know who likes tomato paste? yeah? >> what's that? >> you know who likes tomato paste? >> who? >> patty mahomes. >> oh, really? >> mvp, the mvp. >> are you kind of saying this is going to be an mpv dish right here? >> yes. >> this is going to be an mvp dish, i do think so. i'm excited ed to see what the garoppolo sandwich is going to look like, as well, too. the san fran sandwich, i'm pretty excited to see as well. >> so we've got all 2 cups of water going on in. this is going to nicely thin it out a little bit. what's going to happen is take all of what we just put in the first steps in -- >> smells good. >> -- bring it right off the pan because of the water. i want to have it be a little bit of a reduction. i want to bring some liquid into it, so it can reduce down and i can thin it and i can play with that. >> i think there's a thickener going in. >> there it is. >> there we have a little bit, a little thick and a little thin. >> is that straight up ketchup? >> that is. and that is a staple for a kansas city barbecue sauce. that nice little bit of

ketchup coming straight in. a little bit of molasses that's going to bring a nice little bit of depth. >> camera, have you ever made your own barbecue sauce? >> i have never made my own barbecue sauce, but today we are starting. >> we are so lucky. >> yeah. >> a little cider vinegar. >> that's good for you. >> uh-huh. oh, it's the best. we're going to stir that in. >> put that all together. >> uh-huh. soy sauce. >> wt is that going to go on? what are we going to put the sauce on? >> a little worcestershire sauce. >> this here is going to go with some sliced brisket. i know brisket is more of a texas thing,ut i've got my friends coming over, man. i want to show off a little bit. >> that's rit. >> and y can too. a little salt, a little pepper, a little yellow mustard. >> mmm. >> sweetness. >> chef, i see you have a new york hat on your head as well. >> brown sugar. >> what's that new york hat that you've got going? >> hey, man, i love the gang green right there. so for me, i've got to be able to represent and i have a lot of fun with that. so i'm a big football fan. i'a big fan of what's going to happen for the game. and more importantly, i'm a big fan of what's going to

happen with in barbecue sauce. >> yeah, you put a big thing of brown sugar in there, so there's going to be some sweetness. >> oh, yeah, it has to be sweet and tangy. >> sweet and tangy, that's good. >> there's our brisket. >> we will let that reduce down for a little bit. >> got it. let's make this sandwich. >> let's go right into it, though. i want to take a nice butter brioche bun here. i'm going to take some brisket and i'm going to nely -- >> did you prepare that brisket, too? >> the recipe has it. >> got it. >> the recipe has it. >> we're going to take some onion rings. >> i like onion rings. let me get one of these. >> panko. >> home made onion rings? okay, great. >> good. >> how are they? >> very tasty. >> we're not supposed to be tasting yet. >> and some provolone cheese. >> provolone, okay. >> that's that. we are going to let that sit to the side just a second because we are going to work on our sandwich that is going to be a real star here. >> let's go, san francisco. >> let's go, san francisco. >> we'veot a waffle. >> and i need your help. we will help. >> we have got a nice horseradish mustard, garlic aioli and raspberry preserve. go for it, and give me a nice little stir of that. >> i will put my onion ring

down and get to work. >> don't leave it down there too long because i will probably get a bite of that. >> we've got mustardn here. >> perfect, perfect. let's make sure we get all that in. >> and mayo. >> got some jam in there, right? what does that jam bring out? >> it's nice tartness to it, so it's going to really kind of bring out a nice little bit of a be because you're going to have a smoked gruyère that's going to be melted right on top of it. >> how is that? >> oh, it's perfect. >> looking good? >> gruyère.olutely perfect. >> nice little bit of gruyère cheese. >> this is the san francisco sandwich, the jimmy garoppolo sandwich. >> and this is from a restaurant that used to be in san francisco that was famous for this? >> this was one of their famous dishes. >> what was that name of that restaurant? >> the straw. >> the straw, okay. >> so all i want to do now, i have assembled with a nice corn meal waffle. >> boom. >> y can start the day off with having some waffles. >> i'm with you. >> a little jimmy g. >> that's it. >> let's pop that in the oven real quick. >> let's pop this right into our oven. all i want to do is soften our cheese. >> this is going to be a tough competition because we have to taste both and declare a winner. and i don't know about you -- >> two sandwiches, two quarterbacks, i mean the big
