9:46 am
have long range forecast models into early next week that's going to talk what's gone the mountains here winter weather advisory would course need this for the bank account at the snow pack on this is until 10 this evening, winter weather advisory. and what we're talking about a snow up to a 5,000 feet of 3 to 6 inches localized heavier amounts are possible. travel could be hazardous in spots and the bulk of this will be in the afternoon evening hours so running through the models here we go. there's what's going on today tomorrow and then early into next week we're on the northern fringe of all of that deeper moisture that will really impact southern and central california. so unfortunate we're not going to be getting much from it, but it's going to still be unsettled in a probably the south bay will fare a little better actually than the north bay from that then there's a break to finish off a week high pressure reasserts itself just in time for the weekend here comes another batch of some rain our way and then into the following week it looks like a more subtle pattern but there's still more out to sea so that we can squeeze more
9:47 am
out of all of this. high temperatures today, 60 going on santa rosa for a high today upper 50's elsewhere across the bay both inland and around the immediate bay, 58 san jose, 7 day forecast lined up for us we do have the return of some warmer weather next week that's the latter portion of next week. not quite the athletic performance. we saw from last week those rocket be brushing up in the upper 70's d n't forget you want to turn your clocks ahead. the an hour when you retire tonight or 02:00am it's springing ahead. tonight. >>for your health a lot of us are worried about the coronavirus especially since there's no current vaccines are the best way to prevent infection is to take everyday preventive action and our health expert karen, a walk is here to guide us with sofas specific precautions that we need to talk about karen good morning to our dishes on the mind of everyone we have learned so much more about washing our hands in the past couple weeks and yes something that we should be doing anyway. yeah, especially through food fully season,
9:48 am
yeah. >>so let's stop this. let's start with how the covid 19 coronavirus >>through these large airborne respiratory. particles and they had these droplets that go flying in the air when someone coughs or sneezes, yeah and then they end up on surfaces and that is the real key is that because in the once they get on surfaces. it's the key visits the getting into your your mouth, your nose or eyes this membrane. yeah that's how you get it so one of the issues that a lot of people don't don't realize is that if someone sneezes or coughs it could stay at your workplace for up to 7 days. yeah, yeah, yeah, so doctor james rob who's a virologist the study that he says yes it can stay on surfaces up to 7 and maybe even more well, and of course we've and make the problem worse by doing our work here and then rubbing are on. >>pfizer we tend to touch on news and mouth up to 90 times
9:49 am
a day we don't even realize >>yeah, so that's how it's just getting everyone i have to to to tell you that this past week or so i've been more more conscious of how many times i touch my face not and and i can't believe that yeah isn't it interesting you get that really is the so what are some things we can do so number one washing our hands just get it off her hands, but there's you know we talk you've heard everyone say 20 minutes. and he or toy to yes scrapping and it's that education is that friction that is getting some of those germs off. but of real important part is bryn seeing those set off because that's the way supports it it grabs on to the dirt and germs and becomes one unit and you have 2 men set off right if you don't rinse it all at the end of what dried soap and germs and i think what's what's been happening certainly in my cases i spend the 20 seconds washing my hands and scrubbing away and all thing i'm doing a great job, but then really shortchange myself on the
9:50 am
rinsing right got it got to go through the rinsing just as much as you do the washing it and one is an important because you got to get that dried you know all that lather that has suspense to the off your skin and you were telling me during the break that of the air blowers that we find somebody restrooms nowadays are not really the best way to go when we're talking about the coronavirus correct you want to do that paper towels because that also adds more friction. so that's going to take up any other germs that might still be remaining and then you can turn the faucet off could you know that's dirty could you just touch to these are you watched your show door knobs to ok so we've gone through washing one oh we go from here well it's that's the that's the first choice with soap and water if that's not available then the handset can see that that that has at least 60% alcohol in it and that's really important thing that you read the label to see that 60% i was with my daughter india earlier this week and she looked their hand
9:51 am
sanitizer and saw that it was not 60%. oh yeah, yeah, yeah, i got to read the letter that also using it like you are washing your hands so discord your hand and rubbed it around in got to give you all the race spend that time which also nails cut them really yeah. yeah i always look at health care workers that they long nails it's hard to get in there sure that's why also have the brush the nail brush to get get with on the screen earlier that it's very important to stay hydrated. why is that that is super important because if you you're not hydrate your mucous membranes dry up and your mucous membranes are like fly they attract all that attacked here. the viruses. >>and if they are moist they're just going to get set up and go into your lungs. when you when they are moist, they go down you swallow it sounds gross they use make and then they're killed i see ok so stay hydrated a we've seen so many people now with tissue

boxes on their workplaces. it's it's great obviously for sneezing and coughing. but it also serves another purpose. well right, you know, they're saying cough into your elbow, you know, but he's. >>that will that will last for up to a week. as well that doctor robb said sticking on to your clothes. so preferably sneeze into a tissue and despite all the way don't just leave it on your desktop your head exactly get rid of it. yeah and then again wash your hands, one thing that i saw that i thought was interesting was to push buttons like on an elevator using a pencil carry a pan with you that's news to keep your fingers away from most we also talk about the pad to to use when you're when you're using a credit card or something like right right and then also up forgot to mention, watching cleaning your phone off because you wash your hands if your phone's security. all over a star all over all right sarah. thank you so much and will tip so they're coming in so handy. something we all need to do yes all right we'll be right
