confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 11 virus related deaths. santa clara county has the highest number with 262 3 cases and 8 coronavirus deaths, san mateo county has a 110 cases with one death. there are 84 cases in san francisco county. 51 in contra costa county along with one death and in alameda county there are 65 cases in the north bay there are 38 cases in marine county 13 in solano county. 21 in sonoma county and one death and napa county still not reporting any cases of the virus. globally there are now over 307,000 confirmed cases of covid 19 and more than 13,000 deaths in the us there are more than 26,000 cases with 340 deaths and here in california there are over 1400 cases of coronavirus 20 p 27 people in california have died so far

usaa. what you're made of, we're made for. usaa california is releasing $42 million to help in the response to the coronavirus pandemic governor newsome outline where that emergency funding will be spent. he's converting as many places as possible into makeshift hospitals such as sports arenas colleges and hotels, $30 million will be used to lease the seton medical center in daly city. the governor also said the white house is sending 8 us field medical units which means another 2000 beds for coronavirus patients. the governor is preparing for 10's of thousands of future coronavirus patients here in california. the state of california has about 416 hospitals in the system. we have a bed capacity staffed currently about 78,000.

>>some of the projections that we put out a make it clear that will need an additional 19,500 beds in order to meet our midway projections as it relates to the issue of covid 19. we have surge capacity within the hospital system of a little over 10,000 so we're out there trying to pick your 10,000 units i mentioned the the 10,000 beds. i mentioned the work with the seat the other hospitals hotels were bringing online not just for homeless, but also the hotels that will also be part of a broader portfolio of to help us with our hospital that includes by the way support from the army corps of engineers drought here yesterday talking about how quickly they can convert those hotel rooms into cause i hospitals getting all the electrical and ventilation equipment and turning those around in real time working with the dormitories at the u c system the csu system to do

better coverage than we saw from yesterday this live shot coming in from seoul looks pretty socked in there from this vantage point here putting up the fog into motion want to show you something here. what goes on this afternoon. i did mention about rain coming. yeah that's the rain that you see going on there for the peninsula in down to the south bay here that will be mid-afternoon all right then we go into the overnight. we have more rain going on to greet us for your monday morning. so probably to see a lot more fog in those inland valleys look at the east bay coverage and the peninsula all that due to the fact we're going to have rain late this afternoon and overnight that big big important issue which will see in the forecast models right now what goes on here is looks like some rain. donna monterey bay right now much of the bay is being spared for the moment now this will take a while to kind of get active if you will, here's what the models say for the development boom, a teen with some daytime heating now we're starting to get some rain going for the peninsula also off to the east bay, but it doesn't really end there as we go into the overnight some heavier rains happening. and then it funny

with rain in the forecast for still managing to get well into the mid to upper 60's at that even though the sun is going to be eclipsed in the south bay by late this afternoon. we're still in the mild sector of things but we expect the low to be dropping out of the gulf of alaska little bit later on in this forecast was some of that coming up in just a bit marty ok sounds good. well governor newsom has deployed the california national guard to support humanitarian missions, food distribution and alternative medical treatment sites. >>in sacramento for instance, there are up to a 25 soldiers from the 100 15th, regional support group making sure that food banks continue to serve their community, local food banks have been especially impacted by a shortage of volunteers due to the mandatory stay at home orders. we serve about a 150,000 people about. >>but now with this covid 19 people are losing their jobs. people are in greater need of food so the national guard is going to help us ramp up and get more to folks who need it.

>>the california national guard has been helping out at the food bank since friday. the governor also issued an executive order to allow residents to vote by mail in 3 upcoming special elections that order also extends to deadlines the deadline for ballot counting and tabulation other responsibilities that are all related to california's presidential primary. in national news this morning hawaii's governor is now ordering a 14 day quarantine for all incoming travelers to the state health officials in hawaii say that all confirmed cases there have either been linked to travel north on through contact with a traveler and why returning residents are now being ordered quarantine at home as for ville visitors, they will have to remain in their hotel rooms for those 14 days. violators can face a $5,000 fine and one year in prison. that quarantine going of into effect this thursday at midnight. the f a a briefly suspended flights to new york

economy now we don't have precise government figures yet but we do have is anecdotal evidence of americans losing their jobs and projections of just what kind of impact that's going to have goldman sachs is predicting to a quarter million americans are filing for insurance this week alone that is an eight-fold increase versus the week before. now we know what industries are being hit it's largely the hospitality and leisure industries we're seeing this with airlines with hotels airlines and air travel in this country have essentially ground to a halt united one of the biggest carriers yesterday saying that going to have to make cutbacks if congress doesn't intervene and provide that rescue funding. mary out one of the biggest hotel chains here in the u s announcing that it's going to furlough 10,000 workers and one of the biggest restaurant companies here in the actually here in new york
