>>in morning, everyone and thank you for waking up with us on the sunday morning may 24th, i'm robin once everybody i'm marty gonzales is get right to our top story this morning, a fire crews spent the night mopping up and dousing hot spots following that massive fire san francisco's pier 45 saturday morning kron four's rana harvey is live at the pier this morning with the latest arena. >>im rd and robin the firefighters have been in well into the night here at the pier this morning and as you can see has resulted in trying to get those hot spots you see the water here want to show you just how busy the

firefighters have been here on the scene they're giving us a closer look this morning of everything they've been working on since that massive fire last night so what they're doing right now is there working on getting those hot spots they've got a lot of debris here on scene and what they're doing is they're trying to make sure that that fire any other hot spots that are left under that debris. they're getting access to you can see the firefighters. the air. you can see the damage that was done to this building here this is that warehouse where all those different businesses. i had how's their equipment. i'm also we've got a view of bryant here on scene as well as the firefighter steel. douse the side of the video so we want to show you. some footage that we got in this is aerial view of the damage so it's massive here this morning you can see just piles of debris lay dow certainly a a a a horrific fire yesterday now again if

there was any silver lining here in any of this we know that there was no loss of life thankfully. we also know that bryant was say tears. well so that was something that the firefighters are working hard and diligently to do. i spoke to one of the business owners, he's a fisherman here at the pier who last 45 years of his hard earned business all the equipment that he had built up over time i talked to him about his thoughts and feelings, i'm less than 24 hours after this fire destroyed everything. >>and basically loss from 8.46 years of back breaking work went up and small. there we the fire department tried to do. it was awesome. they you know they really is the president. they tried. the were pretty appreciative of that. >>right now the firefighters are going to be here well into memorial day weekend trying to

bad, you know for late may early june. 58 conquered 53 for livermore got the mid-fifties lighting up the east bay shoreline and off to the peninsula. all green there. and today's warm up nothing that incredible yet we have the upper 80's near 90 going on and uh the central valley, 90 per second 73 for san francisco monterey in a pleasant 68 in dallas ocala lower to middle 70's. the big player will be this big dose of high pressure in for today will go and call it warm, although things will be changing and that's going to hang around just about all week long and looks to be some very warm temperatures both aloft and at the surface route which allows the swarming for us at the surface now there's not much to look at in terms of its systems coming our way you'll see the blocking here. but i want to watch the very end of this it gets kind of interesting okay high pressure is blocking everything nothing to get through or stock. and then this yeah as we get into next saturday. the potential is maybe see some rain come back in this forecast maybe a stray. thunder shower at that

many people that are an employee rampant unemployment. you don't know what your future is going to hold a year isolate it. it's just all adds up and and they're finding that those that were depressed before they're going into relapse. >>and and i think with a lot of people it's it's probably not knowing what's next. we're so used to having control of our lives and now everything is out of control. we don't know because of the virus when we're going to be able to safely go outside when we're going to be able to go back to our normal lives and go back to our jobs. >>there's that fear factor just that that level of an unknown creates all this saying die and we've talked about that in the past 2. all those things are compounding this this situation it's really it's really like the said it's very tragic. >>so there's there's one thing that you have always recommended in terms of

getting to a both physical and mental health and that is exercise. >>exercise and the studies are showing that have shown that it does benefit mood and it does does help. so so if you're able to get incorporate exercise and activity into your daily routine that will also help. >>what you're what you're talking about here too as well is that a lot of people who are depressed have trouble even getting out of bed. let alone exercise so that's an issue as well. >>to 2 and they're also finding that more people that. artery king those that did who are depressed that didn't really do much drinking or much drug use are doing that not starting drinking from 04:05pm, in the afternoon and going all the way to the evening. so that's

problematic. >>one thing that we all have to keep in mind as well is we can self-administer our exercise routine is just a matter of getting started. >>that's what's great about exercise because he kid self-administer and it it's definitely better than taking medication in the attic found that it could replace some of the medication without the side effects. >>can you tell us a little bit about the immediate effects of exercise have on and people who are dealing with mental health issues so definitely there's the chronic effects as well as those acute effects seen we're in the age of immediate gratification and you know you know and they found that just one bad of exercise. >>elevate your mood and can reduce anxiety so trying to come to trying to incorporate that into your workday whether you're at home or at the office is beneficial. they also found that it helps brain

vigorous intensity aerobic exercise per week. >>ok so 150 minutes per week is what you're talking about if it's a seven-day week roughly 20 minutes, a day. >>right righor are 30 minutes 5 days a however you break it down, but just just try to reach a 150 a minute goal right yes, so there's a difference between moderate intensity and vigorous intense if you're doing vigorous intensity exercise then you 75 minutes a week so 3 days set 25. also how do how do people do a weight lifting or resistance training because that's an important part of this as well that's a very important component of the year program so that's 2 to 3 days a week of strength training using all tried it try to hit all the muscle groups and then also the flexibility exercises are also critical so 2 to 3 days a week of the flexibility exercise as well as nusra motor exercises which are they the balance

training as well as the agility training and there are so training programs online, they're pretty easy to find. >>they are in then and there are online trainers like who can create those programs that include all those components, but the thing is you can if i could put together the textbook program for you however, if you don't do it it's just nothing. so you you really have to think in and about what it is that you really like to do if you're you're trying to say if you say i don't like exercise then think about some things that you would encourage you to go out if you loved to hike then then do that it's just important to do something yeah. >>just to get moving and don't call it the exercises are great she's like yoga and and thai tea they've done studies

that i'm 9.24. the cdc released new guidelines to safely reopen places of worship. >>the recommendations come after president trump said that they are essential nick valencia takes a closer look at the guidelines. >>after weeks of anticipation, the cdc finally released what it calls interim guidelines for faith-based institutions and the guidance goes into great detail as to what churches can do to safely reopen things modifying methods used to receive financial contributions considering a stationary collection box or electronic methods of collecting financial contributions other things include a considering whether physical contacted for example, shaking hands, hugging or kissing can be limited among members of the faith community, one of the more interesting things that we noticed in reviewing these recommendations was how they began a the cdc saying that this is information considered non binding public health guidance and we hadn't seen in

of the go to for folks if you're 39 if you want to see sea lions, this is where you go because you know you're on the odds are in your favor, but there are other places to see them in san francisco as well and the farallon islands is one of those spots that if you keep your eyes open yeah sure is the beauty of the airlines is the refuge there about 30 miles off the coast of san francisco people can't ever go it was not open to the public so they just kind of assume they don't get to see it. but this is a web cam that the california academy of sciences offers and this one moves around a lot as well and if you look in the corner you can see that control the camera at home you can click into the queue and you can move the camera around or you can be and that's great might have a minute wait, but people just kind of get in line so they can look at different angles from the island they can see different things and there's a there's a lot of bird colonies out there so there's lots of options for folks there you go to see different things. so it's it's a great way again just to
