morning news, i'm rebecca storm in the kron 4 weather center overcast gray skies this morning as you can see here an hour south of market camera in san francisco. similar way that we woke up to a yesterday conditions but to the good news is that sunshine is on the way for much of the bay area. some are coastal spots will still have those overcast skies but everywhere else nice and sunny and warm as well, san francisco downtown you're going to be a high of 70 today, 67 for the afternoon high in the sunset district upper 50's months. heron elgar not a 66 in half moon bay today. and then some mid to upper 70's as we get through millbrae and burlingame and we're expecting those low 80's to return once again if you're going to be in san carlos, a redwood city. we'll top out to 80 degrees today, 83 in mountain view and the afternoon highs across the entire south bay much warmer of course the what we saw last week mid to upper 80's campbell 86 degrees, 86 also expected for saratoga 87 in los gatos topping out at 85 in
8:45 am
morgan hill. here is the zone looks like this this is where we're going to see a low 90's like in livermore it's going to be hot out there at 92 degrees today, 89 in pleasanton more mild near the bay 77 in hayward 76 topping out in union city low 70's for india and through berkeley 92, though if you're going to be in danville later on today 87 for the high expected in san ramon, 95 in pittsburgh, 81 indonesia and then 76 real mild for valais ho today and those 80's continue in napa 83. 86 expected in sonoma. it's going to be a little bit cooler of course that the coast in some beach of the device, 60 to 60 degrees and point raise low 80's through petaluma and into nevado we're definitely going to be seeing those 90's return over the next couple of days we are back to normal temperature wise for this time of year. then we'll be a little bit of a dip in temperatures as we get into the middle of the week before the comes back to

us next weekend. that's a look at the weather now back to the news all right any 45 let's go back to selma, alabama because now the u.s. representative john lewis's body is about to cross. >>the edmund pettus bridge in selma, alabama for the last time and we're taking a live look here at that bridge and you can see off in the distance the procession. >>coming towards the camera and that's the orientation we're we're looking across the span of the bridge. and you'll see the crowd there on the sidewalk kind of curve to the right. so we're expecting to see the case on the horse drawn. case on with the casket come around the bend and approached the bridge and as we watch these events unfold live, i'm struck that not many people can say that their life's work their impact on the world. his studied by people during their lifetimes but john lewis was one of those people in with us as part of this discussion is kron four's reyna harvey you actually have the opportunity to study john lewis in college
8:47 am
and rain, i'm curious just to get your perspective as we watch. these events unfold this morning. >>yeah, you know this is a historic moment, a very sad and somber moment for a lot of people watching and saying goodbye for the last time. this is someone who at a very early age took his life and decided to lay his life on the line to fight for what he believed in and that was fighting for voter rights and the advancement of black people here in this nation, you know he was born the son of sharecroppers very humble beginnings lived on a farm and then as he progressed in grew he decided that he was going to stand for things inspired by the montgomery boycott. steer in alabama. and he really took that lead and that initiative in his fight for voter rights now again we all know the history. what is now known as what he sunday then crossing the bridge there that a group of about 600 people who were brutally beaten. all
8:48 am
in the fight for equality and voting rights and again here in a full circle moment in a place where power was taken from this group of people you see that power restored in a full circle moment as they scored his body across the bridge. there. he was also under the you know to the ledge and mentorship of doctor martin luther king. here in the country and that's where they all together plan many a different boycotts and and sit ins and different things that you learned about in history. something that i've been seen over the past few weeks on social media with a people remember marine of the congressman here is good trouble that's something that i see often on social media they're saying that he stood for good trouble and that is you know they miss lees mugshot re-arrested from the protests here crossing the bridge and he's smiling. in that mug shot the air just because of the trouble that he
8:49 am
fell was the advancement of african americans in this country and their rights to vote so he's someone that is held in high regard in the history books. you look at him along the rankings of doctor martin luther king in this country along with rosa parks and if key figures in history and so his actions then he led that day is played a huge role and a lot of the advancements we've seen in this country for african americans here the right to vote. the civil rights movement being pushed for so again you are seeing people gathered here in the community all getting ready to play their owners and respects to someone advocated for good trouble and that is pushing the movement forward and it is a very special moment in time as we look at a lot of the protesters that are taking to the streets today and they have similar messages that they're trying to convey and
8:50 am
that they're asking for the advancement of what they feel the black people still have a lot a lot to a lot of room for progress and growth in this country, currently right now. so again all of this coming full circle as people get a chance to say goodbye and pay homage to the congressman here. he organized sitting demonstrations back in the day over lunch counters at the time that we are not segregated they were pushing for that we also know that he became a nationally recognized leader in this country he was dubbed one of the big 6 leaders of the civil rights movement and at a very young age here he is in his early 20's, congressman lewis here. being an architect in a keynote speaker at the historic march on washington, he was one of the youngest if not the youngest the air to speak to that crowd of people talking about voter rights and the progression of black people in this country. we
8:51 am
also know that he coordinated many efforts for road voter registration drives in his community and we know that a lot of times many times that there were those were met with opposition and not just being arrested or thrown in jail but often you saw some a very violent opposition towards these people that we're just trying to progress here in this nation so again he's going to be known as someone who is a leader in the midst. only when it was a very difficult time in this country. caryn james lowe, let's take a as the case on rolls over the bridge right now. >>sound like carrying the body and i have representative john lewis who say we will pause so that you can watch this in silence, but just so you know what's about to happen the case on will approach the base of the bridge. >>and then it alone will travel across the span and you're going to notice that about halfway across right underneath the sign that greets the edmund pettus bridge. the case on will stop. and for about a minute it's going to stand there in silence before continues on to
8:52 am
the other side of the span to be greeted by troopers and other family members will continue want to montgomery so with that knowledge we'll pause here and let you watch this and listen to it sounds.
