8:48 am
there. and alternately early into next week this thing is going to fall south and that's what's going bring us rain and yes mountain snows expected up in tahoe to 40's up in the north bay, we've got 50 oakland but in the east bay, a lot of 40's you'll notice, 45 san jose 47 for san francisco, players very typical. there's a hide or the south of us is providing us a little relief certainly central coast is getting a break from all of this, but also the south bay later today. shower line is not too far from home and that's why the north continue to be spilled by cloud cover could be hard to clear that out again that will finally get some motion. let's get you'll see is in our models here ropes up a little bit on the north bay but much better clearing in the south and the east bay tomorrow, everybody gets a little bit better treat with that and it looks like temperatures will move a bit more into the 60's department today it's going to pretty much be just sub 60 just about everywhere. there you see the more commitment of rain as far up to northern california though, so in the longer range
8:49 am
forecast models, here's the big hit we're talking about as we get into monday night afternoon overnight into tuesday wednesday. rest of the week is pretty uneventful including the weekend it looks like maybe by monday we might start to see another bout of perhaps some rain coming our way speaking of this is what it looks like clearing out for a couple days tuesday, the snow returns. they have a winter storm watch at this point for just that event. 4 zone forecast 57 for san francisco will do about 58 daly city pacifica 56 more those mid to upper 50's along the bay side peninsula foster city of 59 along with palo alto mountain view at 58 now this is despite the fact that we talk about the north bay all the cloud cover. we have better clearing down south. but temperatures aren't moving much 59, san jose milpitas 57 colder air aloft will keep temperatures controlled 59 for cupertino. near 60 on the east bay shoreline to the south tri valley, you're looking at 58 today along with dublin along with walnut creek 56 meanwhile for berkeley and up to the
8:50 am
north bay here fairfield 5753 vallejo little note here we might get a little stray shower there potentially tonight overnight into tomorrow morning. 56 going on santa rosa with upper 50's covering down to southern moran. so in the week ahead, it gets interesting as we get into monday again and maybe some claps of thunder on our tuesday here. clearing out for the remainder of the week we actually get up to the 60's as well meanwhile, the lows are kind of interesting because after this next system. what some cooler drier air open up those skies temperatures fall might be flirting with the freezing mark a little bit here and 40's will cover us up the coast. well. >>thanks stay for your help this morning mayor london breed has announced the city is providing new mental health resources for san francisco unified school district students and their families the city is expanding the mobile response team which provides personalized mental health and wellness services for kids who need it sf ust students are now eligible for services from the team and

concerns to the governor. he told a group of school administrators they will not be resuming in person instruction for the rest of the academic year. well that plan did target in person instruction to start rolling out for younger students in the middle of next month that would be a couple weeks away and also provided money for regular testing also contact tracing and ppe during a virtual meeting this week newsome responded to their concerns. >>if everybody has to backs be vaccinated we might as well just tell people the truth there will be no in person instruction the state of california just telling the truth. >>the california teachers association sent a letter this week saying teachers should be vaccinated before they return for in person instruction newsom's administration has yet to release a detailed plan for all of that. >>well teachers in the east bay agree they're pushing to make sure that's to teachers and staff are vaccinated before they return to the classroom. the mount diablo unified school district has says it would continue distance learning at least through march. >>i can't speak to whether or

not school is going to reopen this year i can speak to whether or not i think it should and i do not think schools should reopen this year and tell our teachers have been vaccinated and had both doses and been able to quarantine for 2 weeks after that. that's that seems like an essential first points to give teachers the peace of mind to go back to the classroom. >>well the oakland unified school district was planning to restart in person classes this month, but case and positivity rates spike so much that they'll continue distance learning as well, and as long as alameda counties in the purple tier, the schools in the county cannot have students back on campus date. >>all right we'll get a lot of cloud cover to start the day off here looks like things will open up into the afternoon but those temperatures not moving too much upper 50's and looks like highs a look at your forecast for the saturday in a in the sunday as well from 00:00am morning news.

good thing to store up for the summer months, here's a live shot of the east bay shoreline as you can see so kind of overcast above us golden gate bridge offering the same opportunity for basically overcast sky conditions but that will probably improve a little bit this afternoon will say somewhat partly cloudy skies for up in the north bay work elsewhere to be some scattered clouds right now our temperatures we're getting up to 45 santa rosa, 54 napa east bay is looking at 52 from oakland 40's covering everybody else it even down south 48, san jose so futurecast for to go through today see better clearing happening in the south and east and the north bay told slow going there you will notice a cloud cover overnight happens. but by sunday looks like her, but he opens up a little better temps will be a little warmer too by the way. then later on we expect some rain to develop early into next week all those winds though not too much activity today a little bit of breeze going on up in the north bay, let's try tomorrow now we get better clearing going on looks like we have some windy pockets here up in the north bay, the coastal peninsula.
9:17 am
but even off to the east bay as well sort of a hodgepodge of winds going on here, but they seem to be favoring the south in the southeast. as we finish that up into sunday. so we got going on here is variable clouds on balance today showers up north cool and breezy with 50's tomorrow continue clouds north a mixed bag of clouds and sun, let's try some 60's on then for next week, another rain batch to be watching. dry later in the week says will be an early part of the forecast 57 we'll do it san francisco, 59 oakland, san jose rather open 58. but expects more variety and that however in the 4 zone forecast. we have the upper 50's you can see across most of the geography coming up in a bit we'll have of course the 4 zone forecast for you and the extent of mourning in the well okay. i'm for national news this morning president biden is warning of what he calls the growing cost of in action. >>it is one 0.9 trillion dollars covid relief plan. our washington correspondent joe khaleel has a little bit more on his efforts to try and get
