before they take the field though folks that are there are testing out their own football skills were looking that area where folks have been testing out those skills kevaney martin is one of them. she joins us now live from tampa with a little bit on how well she did with all of the fun down there, hey company. well good morning. noel and mardy unhappy super bowl sunday and i think we all can agree that of course the main event of super bowl week is the game on sunday, but the days leading up. >>to the big game have become quite a spectacle as well throughout the years with football fans flocking to the host city to enjoy the festivities and many of them, including myself even work up a sweat. >>super bowl experience place for any joe show can feel like real life football, pro or not let your wife let me explain why i'm running or at least attempting to run a 40 yard dash tampa super bowl 55 covering world class athletes
8:16 am
i felt inspired to put my skills to the test at this interactive theme park. >>up first ever don t field goal. this was my first attempt from 30 yards out. you can tell by my reaction that that was pure luck. now since this game is expected to be an aerial show kate's i wanted to put my arm to the test. i didn't get off to the best start and all i was a little warm up as i rattled off 3 straight. >>that rick mahomes who now back to that 40 yard dash or should i say 40 yard crash and just like that we were off barreling down the straightaway arms pumping lake striving unfortunately the ending wasn't as greece i plan 5, 7, 9, not bad for a washed up former college uber i mean tom brady ran a 5 to 8 and look out things turn out for him and it looks like i'm on
8:17 am
the right track with the first pick in all of this experience taught me anything all just stick to reporting. on my super bowl experience. so as you can see my football skills are seriously lacking. >>not expecting a call from john gurdon anytime soon i'll leave that to the professionals but i hope they could have at least provided a little bit of comic relief for our viewers this morning for now reporting live in tampa kevaney marty back to you. >>kevaney what was the most fun that you had this weekend super bowl in tampa. >>well besides a lot of fun even i made a i think we covered so many events and interviewed so many spectacular people this i would say one of the stories
8:18 am
that stuck out most to me was my story i did on tom henschel 79 year-old who has been to every single super bowl one through 50 how is here in tampa bay. he's going to super bowl 55. incredible he got 2 tickets for $2500 a piece he said it wasn't in his budget but he made found money he him and his wife are going to the super bowl later today and he'll be heading to his 55th street. that's incredible incredible especially since getting tickets to this one was likely so much harder than in years past, i'm curious kevaney how different will gameday be this year compared to previous for you, especially. >>yeah, well that's a great point even tom said that there is such a point there where he is think that he was going to go to the super bowl this year and he thought his streak was going to end, but it's going to be completely different obviously as we know only 25,000 fans are allowed inside raymond james stadium, there will be social distancing. >>and as far as the media goes
8:19 am
we're actually not even allowed inside the stadium this year they have an auxiliary tent for all of the media to watch it outside. so i've covered 2 super bowls in the past in obviously was able to go into the stadium in on to the field, but this year. no chance whatsoever and you know it actually makes you know we're in the middle of a pandemic and it's the safest way to do it. yeah. >>we'll we'll be thanks kevin enjoyed your reporting throughout the week, thanks a lot thank you. well officials in tampa florida are worried the big game could be a super spreader event is we've already seen large groups of people taking to the streets here in tampa. >>after of the bucks won the nfc championship game just a couple of weeks ago as you can see many of them not wearing masks the spontaneous celebration was anything but socially distance stops for sure tampa mayor jane castor says it's up to everyone to be more responsible this time around. >>it always boils down to personal individuals just wear a mask, then it doesn't matter
8:20 am
the numbers we bring in it's not going to translate to the super spreader. >>our heightened security and covid-19 restrictions all weekend long which includes requiring masks at any super bowl events in venues events that don't follow those rules will be shut down. >>so we're wondering about the super bowl in tampa and is the weather going to play a role, but the rain has already moved out of but look at everything that's going on so you saw the live shot there to probably be like that all this afternoon expecting high temperatures in the lower 70's that's a touch warmer than what we're going to see in the home front here we're still negotiating through some last minute fog here at half moon bay but we're talking mostly sunny for your sunday as well cloud cover developing as we get into tonight and into your monday, it looks like though all right, here's where it is out to sea as you can see so let's soak up our sunday before a late this afternoon evening. the cloud cover will start to build and only thicken up we're not going get the consolation like we did this morning as the skies start to part up again no this
