7:12 am
to the 60's with plenty of sunshine going on a few little scattered clouds. >>take a look at the 2nd half of your weekend forecast in just a bit. i'm a performer. always have been. and always will be. never letting anything get in my way. not the doubts, distractions, or voice in my head. and certainly not arthritis. voltaren provides powerful arthritis pain relief to help me keep moving.

7:15 am
after katherine johnson. she is the black nasa mathematician whose contributions helped propel the first american to successfully orbit the world and when she was one of the women were featured in that hit movie from a few years ago called hidden figures. >>the ss katherine johnson should be reaching the international space station by monday. johnson you may remember died last year at the age of 101 you've seen that movie and i haven't looked at such a good film and i feel like it's tvs and all these other stations apart pretty regularly so if you're ever clicking through you know your tv and you see it on their you haven't seen that film it's really really good grazing going through the channels of a land on that on a minute it and watch today is not really a day to sit inside and watch the tv though because it's going to be pretty beautiful outside. it's going to be fantastic days far has the forecast for hoping to make any math there is on the way up that they have anyway, we've got ourselves a pretty good forecast going on today a little chilly to start things
7:16 am
off here as you can see half moon bay clear skies to get things kicked off here. >>we do see the interference of some scattered clouds here not a lot going on here so we'll give the nod to mostly sunny skies with all of this going on. >>live shot also coming in from sfo. no delays happening on that front either. so this scattered clouds want to point out up towards our north it may drift out of the south but beyond that good to go for today and this starts things off a little warming trend it seems odd to be saying that because it's much colder this morning than yesterday lower these temperatures that's because the clear skies and drier air we have mid 30's going on up there, although no bottle noticeably warmer 4547 san francisco, but back in london, the east bay. we have some middle to upper 30's at that 42 meanwhile for san jose but for comparison sake. yeah trailing some half a dozen degrees 10 degrees behind for conquered 7 behind for oakland. this map one proof probably all this morning while we're talking to you these numbers are going to start to close in on where we were from yesterday because today should be a little
7:17 am
warmer on balance than yesterday futurecast for doesn't have much to say that's good news there again noting a few scattered clouds i think most people probably notice, but wind picking up in the north bay and we'll check out those projections as well, here's what happens forward up here a little pocket here in solano county napa county and sonoma little bit offshore winds. although the wider bay, not directly impacted by that. now a couple states it comes and it goes and we'll be back again it looks like a little bit. all the way out till tuesday morning. so they'll be kind on and off when that's working up there offshore and that little pocket of the north bay today now a few scattered clouds warmer temperatures in the lower to middle 60's early week we continue warm that up to lower to middle 70's so those inland spots, vacaville. up to santa rosa we might be getting up to the middle 70's, potentially by tuesday, then we get knocked by a system midweek throwing us more cloud cover no moisture with it. and that wall so correct temperatures back to the middle to upper 60's today will be 62 san
7:18 am
francisco, oakland, 64. san jose also at about 64 they're under mild conditions in clearing we see the middle 60's across the good breath of the bay inland again around 65 any ox 69 for santa rosa, of course we'll be checking into that 4 zone forecast and that extended coming up in just a bit marty. all right dave thanks a lot. well bro complete pieces of a united airlines plane came crashing down in a few denver suburbs yesterday. >>federal investigators are at the scene this morning amazingly no one on board the plane or on the ground were injured, but. >>video like this that we've seen from people on board is just terrifying to see with one of the plane's engines clearly on fire. somehow the pilot managed to turn around and get back to the airport safely though just imagine being a passenger on board i get out your window that's what you see right. well reporter from talked to a couple from the flight. she has their story. >>i could see the flash i was about 3 rows behind the wing on the right side. i could see
7:19 am
the flash but i also feel the heat from it. >>so immediately we knew something bad had happened. >>a nightmare in the sky. it was all the sudden a lot of turbulence. >>and then like a really bright kind of bang a flash passengers on united flight 3.28 from denver to honolulu living through something they described as completely out of their control course were. >>holding hands and saying prayers and just looking at each other and again it was really silent there really wasn't a lot of anybody talking at sunny and kelly clinton were on their way to hawaii for work and vacation when minutes into the flight that all changed you know i could just barely see some sparks every now and then. and of course you could smell it, and it felt warm up to my feet so you want you know these things are going through your head of what's what's really happening are we going to be able to land. there were cheers when we did land. >>dolan mark martin also on the flight heading to their
7:20 am
honeymoon. praising the pilots and cabin crew for keeping everyone calm. >>the pilots did a great job keeping the plane study and finally when they were back on the ground soon as we were on the ground i text at least 4 people to say. >>we're safer in denver on the ground let you know what's going on it was a realization that they were now safe getting off the plane and seeing the condition of that engine. i was very made it very real and just very scary, but the nerve wracking experience leaving some anxious for their next departure think back to people you've talked to checked in with recently feel like what happened >>once in a lifetime thing hopefully. >>oh man well president biden is issued a major disaster declaration for much of texas following the deep freeze that left millions of people without power and water for days the move now allows federal funds to help 77
7:21 am
counties recover from that freeze as many as 30 people have now died in connection to this storm, including an 11 year-old boy whose home lost power in the freezing temperatures president biden said he would be visiting the lone star state next week as long as his visit doesn't create any more problems on top of what they're clearly already dealing with new york congresswoman alexandria, ocasio cortez spent part of her weekend in the lone star state so far she's raised more than 4 million dollars for the victims of the winter storm there in texas ocasio cortez was joined by fellow texas democrat sheila jackson lee. >>sylvia garcia and al green. the group helped pack boxes of food passed out water and also toward homes of victims impacted by the storm. >>have a disaster like this. it can just people that for not just 4 and so we have tragedy in the state we to rally around the state to rally federal support for
7:22 am
texans and the state of texas and we need to make sure that we make sure and long-term policy decision so that this kind of devastation preventable devastation never happen again. >>there is some good news for folks there warmer temperatures are on the way but it's likely to cause some more damage as many of the frozen pipes, do begin to thaw out. >>heart goes out to family. well still ahead on the kron 4 morning news, the latest scam here in california that could not only take your money but not only take your money but your home as well we'll so you went to ross to refresh your look for less? and snag top brands for prices that have you, like "oooh yeah"! styles that take you here or here or even right there. slip into the best bargains ever... at ross. yes for less!

7:26 am
this would not be an easy battle. she hired in that someone purporting to be miss peyton that transfer the property to a man named frank galvin or gal van. for free. >>and then that gentleman proceeded to take a refinance on the property. take huge amount of money and then. >>disappear into the went basically when took someone down. stating that she was me to sign and gets things notarized notary records show on october 3rd twenty-nineteen someone claiming to be caron payton paid cash for change of ownership transferring the deed to her home to frank l van with an address in santa maria on the grant deed filed the next day galvan use a different address this one in los angeles and spelled his name differently then in november of 2019 he transferred the deed from fred galvin different galvan before taking out a mortgage loan. pains that ho-sway guerrero says the fraudster likely fabricated a driver's license with her name on it to get past the notary who'd did check i d. in fact the notary
7:27 am
testified under oath that occur on peyton was not the woman to came to her office. she said the woman was african american but walked up the stairs to do the deal something impossible for this car on peyton to do since she's disabled and uses a wheelchair, but there's no way for that notary sitting there never met miss peyton. >>to know that this idea is false. she just recorded the fake information into a notary book just like anybody would. still doubt the deeds and then the deeds are recorded with the county recorder's office and from that moment on as far as the governments concerned miss payne's house is owned by this fronts are says every player along the way then saw the forged documents which allowed galvan to take out a loan for $475,000. >>which paid off peyton's mortgage and gave him an extra $100,000 in cash, he received as a cashier's check from escrow because of frank's fraud, he's pulled enough different parties into this where the amount of fighting that we have to do to fix on
