>>all right dave, thanks a lot of us get to the news this morning. our top story, san francisco unified says it's on track to offer on campus learning at some schools beginning april 12th now some parents remain anxious about that. others see it as a promising development, the first students will be returning to campus would be those in phase 2 a. >>that's pretty kindergartners through fifth-graders under the tentative health and safety agreement the district and the union are working to return as many students as possible in group-c eventually working up to nearly a full school day 5 days a week. >>the teachers union president susan solomon says that safety protocols are in place and educators and staff. >>will receive proper ppe. >>masks gowns face shields even n 95 masks for educators whose means that requires that the book the students. close-up not not within 60 they have to be closer to students and in some cases some educators will be going

contra costa health services are hosting this mobile covid-19 vaccination clinic at richmond high school. the city ranks number one in the county with the highest number of positive cases doctors to shore nasa says this is the second saturday in a row, the volunteers have inoculated people in this parking lot targeting the county's most vulnerable communities with barriers to access health care to be honest a lot of it is trust there are communities. >>which for a good reason have historical distrust with the government and with health care systems, especially when it comes to vaccinations there's been a lot of history where people have been mistreated saturday patients any potential past grievances aside for opportunity to restart their first days the moderna vaccine >>i needed to do it for my family to show them that it's in addition to richmond, the mobile clinic has made stops in can san pablo next week it

>>welcome back 79 here on this sunday morning in an early morning shooting in oakland has ended with a san francisco man dead. police say that shooting happened around 02:00am saturday along grand avenue in the city's adams point neighborhood so far police have not released the victim's name or details on the suspect anyone with information on is asked to call oakland police. >>and in the south bay, san jose police are investigating a shooting in east san jose happened at bowling green drive near alvin avenue whaley elementary school happened about 5 o'clock saturday

evening police tell us that one man is suffering life threatening injuries from that gunshot. san jose police have not yet arrested to some but suspect nor released a motive. >>a 12 year-old girl is safe this morning after police in vallejo say she was rescued from human trafficking earlier this week really hope police arrested 19 year-old fidel rodriguez navarrette wednesday officers were called to fairgrounds drive after someone reported the girl was being forced into trafficking. rodriguez is being held at the solano county jail facing charges of human trafficking of a minor with a minor and assault with a deadly weapon. >>lafayette city council may be asking the state to step in to help remove frequent protesters from a highway overpass there since august supporters of former president trump have gathered at the l kurt hola boulevard overpass that's above highway 24 in lafayette. they wave american flags and large banners as you can see in that video there and members of the contra

that actually clears out for a little time tonight scattered clouds remain the rule into tomorrow but by the late afternoon here comes a line of some showers going on here this is enough to wet the roads and make it for probably a little bit of a wet commute on your way home on monday. and into the tuesday morning commute as well but it's later on that goes off the scope of regional forecast period where things get interesting we get into tuesday afternoon in tuesday night that's we might have some colder air aloft and that's going to drive some showers and perhaps thunder showers lower, some of those snow levels as well. for later this afternoon, our typical onshore winds mostly keeping everything into the teens here. they pop briefly into the 20's and then they pop up a little bit more so you see tomorrow afternoon that will be accompanied by some rain though so to be a little different feel with the winds. then the nice breeze that we have going on today, although that will be chilly 2 in the afternoon a little bit there but at least will be rain free, so we got scattered clouds breezy today 60 ish will say is a high then early part of the week late showers

on monday. tuesday and wednesday thunder showers rain. so this is the real heat of unsettled weather we're talking about late the week we clear out some minor warming and don't you know what by next weekend timed out perfectly we're back in the business in the mid to upper 60's. today we're at 58 san francisco 62 for oakland, 62 also for san jose noting those afternoon clouds at all the locations here and around the region temperatures middle to lower 60's expected again for sunday, but of course we'll take a longer a look at that longer range forecast model for you and the 4 zone to party. >>thanks lynn. well, here's something that you don't hear about every day how about this lower rates and increased service they could be coming to the san francisco bay ferry in the near future. next month, the board will be voting on whether to adopt the pandemic recovery program that's designed to encourage people to return to the ferry in the coming months. they would do that by lowering fares and adding more off peak trips beginning in july. there would also be a new route

between oakland and san francisco. the board is asking for public input on the plan during a virtual open house that will be held on march 16th. in national news this morning house lawmakers recently passed a bill that would ban choke hold and make other changes for law enforcement officers that's right the goal is to reform police agencies across the nation. but as our reporter jeannie found out. >>some law enforcement leaders in sacramento, don't agree with the proposed changes. >>and it will not bring back. george floyd. taylor say her name breonna taylor. >>on arbery but it's a start for house lawmakers who passed the george floyd justice in policing act earlier this week. the police reform bill would ban chokehold make changes to qualified immunity van no knock warrants and prohibit racial profiling it puts more emphasis on accountability. >>as well as transparency for very axioms founder of voice

package, the american rescue plan it fell right along party lines no republicans voted for it now there were a couple of significant changes in this senate version then what we saw in the house's version the $15 minimum wage increase was the first thing to go in internal clash among democrats ultimately lead to a scale back extended unemployment benefit to $300 a week. a deal that appease the more moderate senators those jobless benefits are going to be paid out through the summer and the main thrust of the bill is the same $1400 stimulus checks to americans who are making less than $75,000 a year. 14 billion dollars for vaccine distribution and 350 billion dollars for state and local governments among a lot of other measures. the republicans went home after this all-nighter but senate majority leader chuck schumer state and addressed reporters. a little while after the vote we had to pass this legislation. we made a promise to the american people that we we've been delivered the real

relief they needed and now we have fulfilled that promise. >>now there is a bit of concern among some democrats that the new bill as it makes its way to the house may find some trouble with some of the more progressive members but president biden addressed that specifically saying he thinks they're going to be okay with >>affect something new with the bill. >>clearly democrats want to move on this sooner than later in fact house majority leader steny hoyer and said they're going to take this bill up in the house on tuesday and they're obviously hoping to keep all of their democratic caucus united in support of the bill now there is sort of a deadline here in a little over a week some of the benefits from the previous stimulus package like the unemployment benefits are going to run out so democrats are trying to sort of hit that deadline and make sure that they can pass this bill and get it to president biden's desk. before that happens. in washington joe khaleel.

package, the american rescue plan it fell right along party lines no republicans voted for it now there were a couple of significant changes in this senate version then what we saw in the house's version the $15 minimum wage increase was the first thing to go in internal clash among democrats ultimately lead to a scale back extended unemployment benefit to $300 a week. a deal that piece the more moderate senators those jobless benefits are going to be paid out through the summer and the main thrust of the bill is the same $1400 stimulus checks to americans who are making less than $75,000 a year. 14 billion dollars for vaccine distribution and 350 billion dollars for state and local governments among a lot of other measures. the republicans went home after this all-nighter but senate majority leader chuck schumer state and addressed reporters. a little while after the vote we had to pass this legislation. we made a promise to the american people that we have been delivered the real

there's a lot to talk about their is we've got some sun today, it's a little cool and we've got rain later on this week dave's far as coming up the breakdown for us to get a good morning guys, good morning, everybody and off to a beautiful sunshiny star like half moon bay, look at that you will just get some high cloudiness going on in the afternoon skies today. temperatures still managing that lower to middle 60's track. however, as we get into early next week that's when things start to get interesting. no delays going on this morning at sfo either so off to a good start from that vantage point let's take a look at what goes on in the near period, the next about 48 hours or so scattered high cloudiness today clears up temporarily then the clouds build a little bit for us tomorrow of a mixed bag of some sun and clouds early in the day tomorrow, then the clouds and rain starts to develop by the afternoon. that's for the monday evening commute tuesday morning commute will probably get some scattered showers then by the afternoon evening. it gets more serious for tuesday through wednesday was showers and even some thunder showers thrown in there. the longer perspective, let's get to the short time period boom here we
