package, the american rescue plan it fell right along party lines no republicans voted for it now there were a couple of significant changes in this senate version then what we saw in the house's version the $15 minimum wage increase was the first thing to go in internal clash among democrats ultimately lead to a scale back extended unemployment benefit to $300 a week. a deal that appease the more moderate senators those jobless benefits are going to be paid out through the summer and the main thrust of the bill is the same $1400 stimulus checks to americans who are making less than $75,000 a year. 14 billion dollars for vaccine distribution and 350 billion dollars for state and local governments among a lot of other measures. the republicans went home after this all-nighter but senate majority leader chuck schumer state and addressed reporters. a little while after the vote we had to pass this legislation. we made a promise to the american people that we we've been delivered the real

relief they needed and now we have fulfilled that promise. >>now there is a bit of concern among some democrats that the new bill as it makes its way to the house may find some trouble with some of the more progressive members but president biden addressed that specifically saying he thinks they're going to be okay with >>affect something new with the bill. >>clearly democrats want to move on this sooner than later in fact house majority leader steny hoyer and said they're going to take this bill up in the house on tuesday and they're obviously hoping to keep all of their democratic caucus united in support of the bill now there is sort of a deadline here in a little over a week some of the benefits from the previous stimulus package like the unemployment benefits are going to run out so democrats are trying to sort of hit that deadline and make sure that they can pass this bill and get it to president biden's desk. before that happens. in washington joe khaleel.

it's going to be a little chilly today just a little bit and there's some rain on the way dave spahr has it all for us yeah noel marty good morning. good morning everybody it looks like smooth sailing for sunday, but it gets very choppy as we get into early next week course we do need the rain we will get that as we get into monday night a look at what it looks like for right with just some scattered clouds we expect into the early afternoon, here's a live shot from the east bay shoreline as you can see all my son lit up the shot from mount am and the city behind us 58 at high noon 61 going on by 3 o'clock again noting a few scattered clouds as a front that's coming apart in our backyard dropping south. there it is you can see on the satellite radar picture a little bit the way some high cloudiness bubbling up from the south temperature check here a lot more 40's on the board some chilly 30's. well up in the north bay, 53 for can 44 checking in for san jose trailing by a few degrees as much as up maybe half a dozen spots, although it's somewhat mild on the peninsula. for today we do about 58 san francisco 62 for

oakland and also san jose. coming up a little bit here we'll take a look at that extended forecast for you as well as the morning in the well all right dave, thanks a lot, let's get to a big story. we're following this morning the passage of president biden's covid-19 relief package through the senate happened yesterday morning and now the bill heads back to the house. >>before going to president biden's desk. our washington dc correspondent joe khaleel has the very latest. and what of after a marathon session that lasted more than 24 hours. the senate finally voted. >>to president biden's 1.9 trillion dollar covid relief package, the american rescue plan it fell right along party lines no republicans voted for it now there were a couple of significant changes in this senate version then what we saw in the house's version the $15 minimum wage increase was the first thing to go in internal clash among democrats ultimately lead to a scale back extended unemployment benefit to $300 a week. a deal that appease the more moderate

senators those jobless benefits are going to be paid out through the summer, the main thrust of the bill is the same $1400 stimulus checks to americans who are making less than $75,000 a year. 14 billion dollars for vaccine distribution and 350 billion dollars for state and local governments among a lot of other measures. the republicans went home after this all-nighter but senate majority leader chuck schumer state and addressed reporters. a little while after the vote we had to pass this legislation. we made a promise to the american people that we we've been delivered the real relief they needed and now we have fulfilled that promise. >>now there is a bit of concern among some democrats that the new bill as it makes its way to the house may find some trouble with some of the more progressive members but president biden addressed that specifically saying he thinks they're going to be okay with >>affect something new with

the bill. >>clearly democrats want to move on this sooner than later in fact house majority leader steny hoyer and said they're going to take this bill up in the house on tuesday and they're obviously hoping to keep all of their democratic caucus united in support of the bill now there is sort of a deadline here in a little over a week some of the benefits from the previous stimulus package like the unemployment benefits are going to run out so democrats are trying to sort of hit that deadline and make sure that they can pass this bill and get it to president biden's desk. before that happens. in washington joe khaleel. >>more people become fully vaccinated a lot of us are wondering when will get to take off the masks but before you throw years away health experts say you should keep wearing it for the time being as the vaccine prevents illness. more research though is needed to determine if the vaccine also prevents transmission. >>the virus is just machine, it's a biological machine whose sole purpose is to

so you want to make sure you stay hydrated because that lead will get really and this in it will be hard for the blood to return back up to the heart when it's really think like that. but you can also eat your fluids tell yes because fruits and are very high in water, so it's still an orange i squeezed out from this size or and squeezed out this now do blew it. >>yes that's in an orange, so eating fruits and vegetables are also really good. some people say i can't think of that so i said well ok so eat also a leafy a good way to go as always. leafy greens said these are those those dark leafy okay, so here's the caveat you have.

to yesterday. so that's a front to see up to the north is going fall apart. we'll get some scattered clouds in here as we get into the afternoon hours there's a live shot of the east bay shoreline, lots of blue. there's the golden gate bridge, lots of blue here to not much the way of winds but we'll start to see some of that this afternoon. so we expect about 60 going on at 1 o'clock by 4 at 60 as well we'll see some lower 60's into the afternoon. but again things start to change as early as tonight with the addition of cloud cover and then somewhat of a rocky road and early next week we'll be talking about it coming up in a bit. well marty all right dave let's get to the news this morning in our top story, san francisco unified says it's on track now to offer on campus learning that some schools. >>beginning april 12th now some parents remain anxious about this but others see this as a promising development for students returning to campus are going to be those in phase that spree kindergartners. >>through 5th graders snow under the tentative health and safety agreement the district and the union are working to return as many students as possible in groups eventually

working up to nearly a full school day 5 days a week. >>well, teachers union president susan solomon says that safety protocols are in place and educators and staff will receive proper ppe. >>masks gowns face shields even n 95 masks for educators whose means that requires that the book the students. close-up not not within 60 they have to be closer to students and in some cases some educators will be going into more than one stable cohort. >>we have to keep working until there is an option for 5 full days for all students k through 12. >>now solomon says educators will be finding out soon when the start dates are for their schools, they will have access to the buildings 2 weeks before school starts so they can start setting up their classrooms. the district will be providing more details tomorrow meanwhile, the city attorney's still moving forward with the lawsuit filed against the district and the board of education to reopen

as we get into tuesday and wednesday for today tomorrow, it's basically mostly sunny some clouds moving in tomorrow here comes the snow tuesday into wednesday. now we don't have any statements yet, but i suspect we'll be talking about least a winter weather advisory is not winter storm watch warning all that kind of scenario as far as on the home front we got we have some stray clouds will drift in by this afternoon's work on a kind of scattered clouds on balance today, not a major deal going on we will have the afternoon breeze so to feel a little chilly out there in about if you're picking in shaded areas upstream though this is the activity that we're talking about early into next week blue skies you can see from the east bay shoreline and let's get to future cast for look at the least short term forecast bubbling up from the south some of those high clouds will thicken up for you folks in the south bay. meanwhile for the north bay and mid bay dropping south. what's left of this front. that gets over with then more waves come in from the pacific and it really doesn't get really interesting until we get to the mid afternoon tomorrow. that's we'll get some scattered showers going on here enough

to wet the roads for the evening commute on monday. perhaps as late is into tuesday morning. but the bigger shoes falling will be by tuesday afternoon evening. wednesday all day. the big issue to look out for in this is is although one total from say monday afternoon through wednesday night it's not overall impressive amount they'll be pulses of heavy rain possible without so watch out to santa cruz mountains all the burned areas up in the north bay with this. for today, we've got scattered clouds breezy 60 us for a high early in the week late showers on monday. we talk about that for the commute home tuesday wednesday showers thunder showers and rain thrown in there and then late in the week we start clear out some minor warming at work here and looks like mid to upper 60's just in time for next weekend. here's a look at current temperatures we're already into the 50's on the east bay shoreline 40's up north. but a lot more 50's you can see populate off to the east bay, there's little bit of an afternoon breeze. it will be into the evening. it will be a little bit more pronounced and

package, the american rescue plan it fell right along party lines no republicans voted for it now there were a couple of significant changes in this senate version then what we saw in the house's version the $15 minimum wage increase was the first thing to go in internal clash among democrats ultimately lead to a scale back extended unemployment benefit to $300 a week. a deal that piece the more moderate senators those jobless benefits are going to be paid out through the summer and the main thrust of the bill is the same $1400 stimulus checks to americans who are making less than $75,000 a year. 14 billion dollars for vaccine distribution and 350 billion dollars for state and local governments among a lot of other measures. the republicans went home after this all-nighter but senate majority leader chuck schumer state and addressed reporters. a little while after the vote we had to pass this legislation. we made a promise to the american people that we have been delivered the real

relief they needed and now we have fulfilled that promise. >>now there is a bit of concern among some democrats that the new bill as it makes its way to the house may find some trouble with some of the more progressive members but president biden addressed that specifically saying he thinks they're going to be okay with >>affect something new with the bill. >>clearly democrats want to move on this sooner than later in fact house majority leader steny hoyer and said they're going to take this bill up in the house on tuesday and they're obviously hoping to keep all of their democratic caucus united in support of the bill now there is sort of a deadline here in a little over a week some of the benefits from the previous stimulus package like the unemployment benefits are going to run out so democrats are trying to sort of hit that deadline and make sure that they can pass this bill and get it to president biden's desk. before that happens. in washington joe khaleel.

those experiencing a mental health crisis. the program is called macro which stands for mobile assistance community responders of oakland, oakland city council president nikki fortunato bass says more than 50% of oakland residents have said they want an alternative response to policing. >>over time we really hope this program will will be able to respond to other types of nonviolent crises. these might be issues related to homelessness to neighbor disputes what we're starting with right now is a recognition that mental health in particular deserves a public health response will be working to set teams of 2 people again and emt together with a counselor. those teams would first start in east oakland, west oakland, those are the 2 locations in oakland, where we will be starting the program and we will be hearing a report on march, 16 at our council meeting on progress so that we can continue to cheap oakland

oaklanders informed about how quickly we can get this off the ground. >>the oakland fire department would be running the program leaders are hoping to implement it over the next 6 months. >>and now let's take a look at what's allowed for the outdoor sporting events and concerts so counties in the purple tier capacity will be limited to 100 regional visitors. and you won't be able to buy concessions on site. >>but if you're counties in the red tier, 20% capacity limit does go into effect a ballpark food and drinks will be delivered to your seat capacity then jumps to 33% once a county reaches the orange tier capacity that doubles to 67%. once in the yellow tier meanwhile amusement parks come april first will be allowed to reopen once the county is in the red tier that allows for 15% capacity. parks can move up to the 35% capacity in the yellow tier masks will be mandatory at amusement parks. >>saw some movies, a sci-fi

there's a lot to talk about their is we've got some sun today, it's a little cool and we've got rain later on this week dave's far as coming up the breakdown for us to get a good morning guys, good morning, everybody and off to a beautiful sunshiny star like half moon bay, look at that you will just get some high cloudiness going on in the afternoon skies today. temperatures still managing that lower to middle 60's track. however, as we get into early next week that's when things start to get interesting. no delays going on this morning at sfo either so off to a good start from that vantage point let's take a look at what goes on in the near period, the next about 48 hours or so scattered high cloudiness today clears up temporarily then the clouds build a little bit for us tomorrow of a mixed bag of some sun and clouds early in the day tomorrow, then the clouds and rain starts to develop by the afternoon. that's for the monday evening commute tuesday morning commute will probably get some scattered showers then by the afternoon evening. it gets more serious for tuesday through wednesday was showers and even some thunder showers thrown in there. the longer perspective, let's get to the short time period boom here we
