>> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron 4 morning news at 7. >> good morning to you. thanks for joining us here on the kron 4 morning news i'm noelle bellow it is saturday. july 17th. we've got a lot to get to this morning, including some new mask mandates happening across the state. but first we want to give you a check of your forecast kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr standing by with a look. dave, it was pretty cool. last weekend. what are we looking at this weekend. pretty much kind of business as usual. no. well, you know, you're starting off in the morning, fog and such will see the sunshine in the afternoon. that is for today. tomorrow, this to be a little bit more tricky.

>> as we have a couple little different elements in which to play with. yes, some elements will be talking a lot about could see potentially some dry thunder showers come across the bay area over the course of tomorrow. tomorrow night and through monday. so that's something to bear some watching. but for today it looks to be pretty good. we have that morning fog again at the coast and around the immediate bay. that's the scenario. we mix that out. we'll go back to mostly sunny. here is the golden gate bridge. you can see the fog is starting to now lift up above that hours. however, sometimes it sinks a little bit as it starts its mixing process temperatures pretty controlled in the mid to upper 50's over most of the region. we have 61 for cuts. the out water in comparison. we're a couple degrees ahead of yesterday, but not by much. so it's pretty close on par with what we had. here is what we what are we talking about. however, sunday and monday, we have dry thunder showers as a possibility we're really watching those higher elevations too, because of dry lightning strikes can be very problematic and starting fires 7711 at 2 o'clock 89. so we'll

probably see some lower 90's in some of the inland valleys will get to all of that coming up in just a bit. >> we have to realize that this idea that somehow we're vaccinated and we're done with the pandemic is not right. we have to do is realize that we have to combine vaccines with the other precautionary measures. >> to our top story now with the uptick in positive coronavirus cases in california. doctors say even if you're fully vaccinated, it's now wise once again to mask up inside public places. now, this comes as more and more counties across the state are now encouraging masks. los angeles county, even mandating them. here's a look at where we are right now across the state as of friday. the california department of public health has reported more than 4600 new cases, 65 deaths and a 3.7% test positivity rate that positivity rate has nearly

tripled from the start of july when the rate was just one 0.4% now as we start to see an uptick in cases bay area. health departments are saying it is a good idea to mask up indoors. if you live in any of these counties, you're being asked to wear a mask when you're inside in a public setting. again, these are just recommendations here in the bay area as health officials are reporting the delta variant is highly transmissible people we talked to an alameda say it's probably wise to go back to indoor masking. >> i don't mind keeping my mask on inside. i i do it automatically even though i'm double vaccinated for a long time for a few months. i think a lot >> ability to go into businesses and restaurants without masks. is great everybody is vaccinated, but especially for kids and people can't get vaccinated. >> they're so big rest. >> health officials are recommending people wear masks indoors and other settings like grocery stores, movie

theaters and family entertainment centers solano and napa counties are the only 2 bay area counties that have not changed their mask recommendations. now on our facebook page. we do have a poll asking you about the new indoor masking guidelines will you wear a mask indoors or not. 72% of people saying they will. 28% say they will not. in the meantime, it's the same conversation over in las vegas. health officials there are now advising everyone vaccinated or not to wear face coverings in crowds and indoor places. it's not a requirement. but the recommendation includes casinos concerts and clubs business has been booming there since restrictions were lifted. 7 weeks ago. a union represent a union representing 60,000 casino workers say their members are at risk by unvaccinated patrons. 97% of the bat as recent hospitalizations are people who have not been vaccinated.

now, happening tonight, a new mask mandate will take effect in la county because of the alarming surge of covid-19 cases fueled by the delta variant. there county health officials have reported nearly 2000 new cases and more than 450 people are hospitalized there with covid-19. that's more than double the number from last month. and it's not just their cases are climbing in nearly all 50 states. it's led to the white house issuing lpa new warning saying covid-19 dis information on social media is quote, literally killing people as allison harris reports, the biden administration is focusing on getting rid of dis-information. >> this is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated. the cdc director putting it plainly more than 97% of people hospitalized with covid right now. are not vaccinated. i'm still undergoing a lot of the facts, charlie in missouri was among i thought had covid. it's just that and ammonia,

but it wasn't going to be that bad. well, i was wrong. from the icu. he started taking it seriously. covid is real. the president today placing some of the blame for people not getting vaccinated on the lies being spread on social media sites like facebook, people. >> the only pandemic we they're killing >> i think friday is spokesperson addressing some of the misinformation today. the full sadia that vaccines cause infertility which is not true. and des proven time and time again. this is troubling, but a persistent narrative. the dis information is spreading as fast as the delta variant now affecting more younger americans as many elderly people are already vaccinated, children ages 12 to 15 are least likely to have gotten the shot. 12 year-old grace here. so in texas just

of the olympic games and the first resident of the olympic village at the tokyo summer games has tested positive for covid-19. officials are not naming the person, but they say it is not an athlete. the person traveled to japan from overseas. they were placed on a 14 day quarantine. the olympic village on tokyo bay will house about 11,000 athletes during the olympics and thousands of other staff so far, 44, people affiliated with the games have tested positive for coronavirus since the committee began tracking infections earlier this month. now back here at home to us. senators have introduced a bill to ensure equal pay for americans who represent the country in global athletic competitions. our washington correspondent reshad hudson has the story. >> as american athletes gather on the world stage in tokyo. equal pay should be the the rule of the day when it comes to our olympic athletes. and when it comes to our american

athletes competing under under the or the united states of america. republican senator shelley moore. capito says she is the co-sponsor of a bill that would level the playing field. the bill requires male and female athletes on the u.s. national teams to receive equal pay if they're professionals as well as equal medical care and expense reimbursement. if they're amateurs i as a woman who was very interested in myself, but also interested in able pay. don't think it's fair that our american male athletes are paid more than our american female athletes, the issue of equal pay for women. athletes gain momentum in headlines after the u.s. women's national soccer team won the 2019 world cup. 20 players filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the u.s. soccer federation seeking the same pay and benefits as the u.s. men seen. >> it's just great to see. >> folks like that women on the women's soccer team speak out

>> and make their case wisconsin democratic senator tammy baldwin supports the idea. >> hopefully we'll be able to pay equity there. the bill applies to 50 different sport's national governing bodies and requires the u.s. olympic and paralympic committee to conduct oversight and report on compliance with the legislation reporting in washington reshad hudson. >> okay. it's a sunny skies going on into this afternoon as we watch those temperatures return in some inland areas may be into the 90's a bit. but it's really tomorrow. things start to get interesting with thunder showers aloft to watch out for people here have your forecast next.

>> welcome back. 7.16 here on this saturday morning. and wildfires are burning in certain parts of the state. more than 8,000 acres have been burned by the dixie fire in butte county crews say they're having a hard time containing the flames because of the steep terrain. the fire is near the burn scar of the deadly camp fire in paradise. it is 9% contained this morning. meanwhile, strong winds continue to hamper efforts to contain the backcourt complex fire up in northern california near the nevada border and has burned

more than 105,000 acres. this one 70% contained this morning. more than 30 homes have been destroyed, though, in the small town of doyle as a result of this fire. officials say this one was sparked from a lightning strike. and the river fire burning in mariposa not far from yosemite national park. cal fire says those flames. >> have burned more than 9600 acres. the river fire now 64% contains. definitely not. what we want to this at this point in the fire season. and we know that we might be seeing some of those dry lightning later this weekend for a little bit more detail on that going over to dave spahr a day. >> you know well, and it's only july. you know, this kind of stuff can linger all the way until october. this dry lightning this is part of the gearing up for fire season. the we have kind of comes intrusive from somewhere else. we're starting off with our traditional fog. but it's a little thinner than a tends to be because of that influence from that high off to the

southeast. but there you have a kind of overcast happening in half moon bay and it will clear up there as well as other areas around the bay that are seeing the fog this morning such as the golden gate bridge. again, it has to do some positioning this morning and told finding really starts to clear out temperature checker in the 50's over almost all the real estate except 64 going on for antioch. but let's roll through this very carefully will become crystal clear. we're talking about here. the traditional fog in the morning mixes out usually see the flare up of some thunder showers in the afternoon up the mountains but seeing that so much today. but tomorrow different program. here comes the fog again tonight already. you can see it coming up here from our southeast then by tomorrow afternoon it gets more interesting. we do see some painting of those thunder showers that actually may strike the ground a little bit off towards the mountains. however, all of this moisture. this is mid level moisture hanging up here around the bay. the problem is that the surface. it's fairly dry. so it has to fight to drier to get here. but all the dynamics up there to produce lightning.

so that's where the problem lies and we put those 2 together and they're bad combination. by the way, upstream into next weekend we might be seeing the same type of thing to look out for. so this will be from a sunday monday event. let's check the surface real quick here. alright, we dry out in the afternoon today. no problems because everybody seeing sunny skies here comes the flood of the moisture overnight. that's good. but it mixes out. and in the afternoon, this is the relative humidity levels that that rain has to fight through the virga evaporates. and we're just left with dry lightning. so on our forecasts turning mostly sunny mild 70's for the bay 80's 90's inland not too bad for mid july tomorrow. into monday. we're talking about dry lightning possible fire weather. watch that's in place. then next week it's sunny and mild for the bay near about 80 going on. so not too crazy with those temperatures, but then we're watching towards the end of the week. maybe the return of some thunder showers 66 san francisco 73 for oakland 81 san jose across the wider bay. when you consider some drier

air off to the east bay. we've got a 90's in place here with 80's up to the north bay. coming up a little bit here. we'll take a look at the longer range forecast for you and along with 4 zone. 2 noel. >> all right. thanks, dave. now hope for a brand new waterfront ballpark seems to be fading for the oakland a's the city has come out with its latest financial plan for the development. the a's say it's a step in the wrong direction. they say no deal kron four's dan kerman explains why. >> plans to create a new waterfront home for the oakland a's at the howard terminal have hit another roadblock. say the city of oakland's latest financial plan for the development is not one they can support the offer we received this morning was really a step backwards. you know, we've been negotiating for almost 3 straight days. 18 hours a day. >> but it's actually farther apart than we were oakland. a's yresident dave campbell says the city's proposal doesn't address who pays for offside infrastructure. the a's don't think it's their responsibility. they want to

special assessment districts to generate 450 million dollars to pay for on-site, infrastructure and say the city can use the rest of the money generated to pay for affordable housing. but the city's proposal says the age should pay for affordable housing, which amounts to 30% of all housing built this part of the development. the city also wants to set up a single special assessment district to help the a's pay for infrastructure improvements on site. in a statement, mayor libby schaff said the city's plan moves us one step closer to making the vision of a world class ballpark, a reality. we appreciate the a's working with us to reach consensus. but the a's are running out of patience. >> the plan that they actually propose today if they vote on that. a yes on that. that's a no on the project. that's not something we agree to. there's no consensus within the city council is set to vote on the city's proposal tuesday. the a's would rather they vote on the team's proposal and approve that this is our last option and oakland, like i said, we're down to our last

behaving themselves from middle july here. they'll be warm. but too nasty and we won't be revisiting the triple digits at all and fact. actually the week ahead. doesn't look like it either. what we're watching for something. we tend to see a lot more in the mid to latter portion of the summer that monsoon machine. that's firing back up again. it's something watch towards the end of the weekend. now for today, we're kind of steering clear of that. here's our traditional fog in the morning. there's a half moon bay overcast and there's a picture from downtown as we start to see things start to slowly clear out. there's are on shore. winds that are pretty much in place. but a little breezy run the delta, but elsewhere just a calm wind or single digits to report 50's over most of the region. 64 though, for cuts, a spot that's we start to warm up quickly now what we do have is a fire weather. watch this kicks in for us. really it sunday afternoon through monday possible thunder showers and locally gusty winds note the locations. these are mostly higher elevations except solano county just about the whole counties included in all

that too. 77 for 11 o'clock by 2 word 89 again will venture into some of the 90's by this afternoon. coming up, we've got your 4 zone forecast. also check in at that extended to. >> thanks day with new covid cases and hospitalizations being made up almost entirely of unvaccinated individuals. the you see school system is now requiring everyone who plans returning to campus in the fall. get fully vaccinated before doing so that's not the case for the cal state system, though kron four's haaziq madyun takes a look at the policies that vary from campus to campus. >> covid-19 vaccine requirements. are not uniform across the various colleges and universities in the state of california. while all sees schools are mandating that students and staff are vaccinated this fall. the 23 public universities in the 500,000 students that make up the california state university system are taking a different approach as indicated by this statement from the president of s of

state which reads in part, quote, in compliance with the csu policy as of state plans to require vaccines of all students and employees. returning to face to face instruction what's the vaccines received full fda approval in the meantime, we are following cal osha and public health guidance to continue to keep our campus and community safe. unquote. similarly officials at san jose state university say they strongly recommend the campus community gets the vaccine before the start of the fall, 2021 semester. but they too are waiting for guidance from csu regarding vaccination requirements for students and staff. some bay area community colleges like napa valley college will not require vaccinations this fall, but they do encourage students and staff to get their shots. however, like the university of california, some bay area private colleges and universities are not waiting for the fda has full approval of the vaccine to issue a mandate this fall students and

staff are required to be fully vaccinated for covid-19 at stanford santa clara university in saint mary's college with some allowances for exemptions for documented medical and religious reasons. has it made you kron. 4 news. >> this morning. the cdc is warning people with compromised immune systems that the covid-19 vaccines may not be affected for them. cdc posted a message on its website saying people who are immunocompromised should be counseled about the potential for reduced immune responses to covid-19 vaccines and to follow current prevention measures to protect themselves against covid-19 until advised otherwise by their health care provider and quote, now those wearing masks, social clude - distancing and avoiding crowds. according to the washington post, the cdc advisory panel is set to meet next week to discuss giving a 3rd dose of the vaccine to those with compromised immune systems. meanwhile, a small

ucsf study reveals mothers who received moderna or pfizer's covid-19 vaccines will not pass the vaccine through their milk. 7 women participated in the research between december of last year. and now scientists collected their milk before and after they received their shots. 5 of them got the pfizer vaccine. the other 2 had moderna traces of the vaccine were not detected in any of their milk. researchers say while preliminary this could prove the vaccine would not be transferred to an and front by its mother. the world health organization recommends mothers who are breastfeeding get themselves vaccinated. and 2 attacks in less than 24 hours on the same block in oakland's chinatown. both incidents were caught on camera today. 2 women violently pushed to the ground. their belongings stolen right by madison park kron four's, michelle kingston

the kristin smart murder case have now been made public and the 80 pages reveal new details about evidence seized by investigators, including blood for 25 years. heard disappearance was a mystery. we're now getting a look at the evidence that convinced investigators, the college freshman was in fact murdered sandra mitchell reports. >> traces of human blood and disturbed soil. some of the biggest clues found under the house of the father of murder suspect paul flores, ruben flores is accused of helping his son paul conceal the body of cal poly student kristin smart who disappeared back in 1996 for 2 years. investigators searched the floor as property in arroyo grande. a judge just unsealed court records that show what they found. investigators now say they think smart was buried on the property and her body which has not been found was recently moved. searchers used ground, penetrating radar and cadaver dogs to uncover

new clues to the crime. an archaeologist determined there was a major disturbance in the soil. the archaeologists also reported there was staining that looked like someone poured chemicals on the body deeper in the soil. investigators found 4 different samples that tested positive for human blood. the records show that a tenant of the property said the area was the perfect place to hide a body and that ruben flores kept it off limits and padlocked. that was sandra mitchell reporting for us. paul flores was also a student at cal poly when smart disappeared. >> he is now 44 years old and charged with murder. his 80 year-old father is charged with accessory after the fact. >> all right. looking for a typical summertime day into this afternoon. temperatures in mid 90. so not quite as toasty perhaps last week, we're look at the what some dry thunder showers a

>> 7.45 here on this saturday morning and digging a little deeper. now into the growing concern over thunderstorms this weekend. those storms could bring dry lightning and not much rain with them. increasing the potential for sparking wildfires. some of the largest and most destructive fires in our state's history were in fact started by lightning. erick rucker has more from vacaville. >> shortly after the lnu complex fire burned down the home on this vacaville property last august. the

owner here says he bought this fire truck a symbolic gesture of the lightning-caused fire that took so much from him. other victims around these parts are still rebuilding this weekend. the threat of lightning is expected to return specifically dry lightning dry lightning there sporadic a hidden areas. they're oftentimes overnight. the national weather service has issued a fire weather watch because of anticipated thunderstorms sunday into monday the potential for thunderstorms little to no rainfall. while the national weather service has placed a large portion of northern california under a fire watch meteorologist at the higher elevations have a greater likelihood of seeing the storms since april. we've been talking about the conditions that were already facing and the sacramento region. >> if lightning does cause a fire sunday or monday firefighters like chris vestal with metro fire say the fight will be like if it were

happening 6 weeks into the future. a week. rain and snow season has pushed up what can dry out by about a month and a half. >> now july. we're looking like late august even september. that's what we used to get our fastest growing fires are most critical fire behavior even dangerous conditions. >> dave sphar is here with a little bit more detail on when the dry lightning might be reaching us here. david, you said tomorrow, correct. yeah, that's right. that's what the weather office is now telling monday there this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon, rather all the way through monday afternoon. it looks like that just seems to be the peak of the action. however, we show you the models. it looks like we start getting that moisture flow a little earlier. that means before noon tomorrow. >> but the real concern about all this is as they mention the higher elevations could get a little bit of uplift here. lets people we have right now. here's above that fog. we have at the coast. that's going make south. that's local condition. that's moisture to but that's a nice kind of moisture because that's very dense. it's not

very active. it's cool. all that kind of stuff. we're seeing this also on the east bay shoreline to the shrubbery us that's what was right. and tells you see berkeley. okay. so the fire weather watch that we have note the higher elevations are included in all of this because they provide the upslope the force lifting security have some middle air moisture. here comes across the mountain. it gets pushed higher causing that condensation in the rain energy exchange. thank you. everything mixes and you got your lightning. but the problem is the rain can't reach the ground because there isn't much moisture in which to do that and it's going through dry air. that's what the problem is in our air is going to be fairly dry, particularly by the afternoon hours both today. also tomorrow and maybe even as late as monday putting it all together for us possible thunder showers with gusty wind. you can get that too, with this energy exchange. of course. but those higher elevations that this may happen. maybe we don't see it happen when it first starts until a fire gets going here. so that's the problem issue here around the bay. we watch the fog mix out tomorrow.

there's the thunder shower activity. we don't see a lot of greenery being painted in our general area. but that just means maybe it will strike. the ground is all so we have this klopp of moisture here at 5 o'clock right during the maximum daytime heating when the atmosphere has a lot of energy to play with. that's why we're on the lookout all the way until monday. and as you heard on the report as well. this kind of event ticket the monsoon, it goes all the way really into october, at least in the southwest. let's watch the whole week ahead that the event we're talking about sunday to monday, then we have our traditional northwesterly flow kind of not much next weekend. we do the whole thing again. looks like so on the lookout for some more dry lightning potentially into next weekend. maybe we'll get some moisture out of that. but again, it's the same type of synoptic pattern into next weekend. look out for 66 in the 4 zone forecast san francisco to the coast, lower 60's. you've got some 70's down to the south along the peninsula 73 for burning game. yeah. 84 palo alto. we're just scratching into some of the lower 80's here 82 for redwood

concord, 60, even for oakland. but we're watching is for tomorrow in monday. this is a fire weather. watch driven by the fact of some upper level monsoon thunder showers a possibility. this coming in from our doesn't even appear on the maps for today but will be creeping up here tonight and into your sunday breaking today, down 82 by noon by 3 o'clock 92 and again, looking pretty good into the afternoon. have more on your forecast coming up just a bit. >> we have to realize that this idea that somehow we're vaccinated and we're done with the pandemic is not right. we have to do is realize that we have to combine vaccines with the other precautionary measures. >> to our top story this morning with the uptick in positive coronavirus cases across the state of california. doctors are saying even if you're fully vaccinated, it's wise to once again mask up inside a public

place now, this comes as more and more counties across the state are encouraging masks. la county even mandating them. we'll have more details on that in just a moment. but here's a look at where we are right now across the state as of friday. the california department of public health has reported more than 4600 new covid-19 cases 65 new deaths and a 3.7% test positivity rate. that number has nearly tripled from the start of july. when the rate was just 1.4% now as we start to see this uptick in cases bay area. health departments are saying it is a good idea to mask up indoors. now, if you live in any of these counties listed here. you're being asked to wear a mask when you're inside a public setting. again, this is just a recommendation as health officials are reporting the delta variant is highly transmissible people we talked to an alameda county say it's probably wise to go back to indoor masking. >> i don't mind keeping my

mask on inside. i i do it automatically even though i'm double vaccinated for a long time for a few months. i think a lot >> ability to go into businesses and restaurants without masks. is great everybody is vaccinated, but especially for kids and people can't get vaccinated. >> they're so big rest. >> health officials are recommending people wear masks indoors in settings like grocery stores, movie theaters, family entertainment centers solano and napa counties are the only barrier bay area counties that have not changed their mask recommendations. on our facebook page. we do have a poll asking you about the new indoor masking recommendations. we asked if you'll wear your mask indoors. now. 72% of respondents say yes, they will. 28% say no, they won't. in the meantime, at the same conversation over in las vegas health officials there now advising everyone vaccinated or not. to wear face coverings in crowds and in indoor spaces. it's not a

requirement, but the recommendation does include casinos, concerts clubs business has been booming. there in vegas since restrictions were lifted. 7 weeks ago. a union representing 60,000 casino workers say their members are at risk by unvaccinated patrons. 97% of nevada's recent hospitalizations are people who have not been vaccinated. happening tonight. a new mask mandate is going to take effect in la county because of the alarming surge of covid-19 cases fueled by the delta variant their county health officials have reported nearly 2000 new cases and more than 450 people are hospitalized right now with covid-19. that's more than double the number from last month. and it's led the white house to issue a new warning. allison harris reports. >> this is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated. the cdc director putting it plainly

more than 97% of people hospitalized with covid right now. are not vaccinated. i'm undergoing a lot of the facts, charlie in missouri was among i thought had covid. it's just form pneumonia, but it wasn't going to be that bad. well, i was wrong. from the icu. he started taking it seriously. covid is real. the president today placing some of the blame for people not getting vaccinated on the lies being spread on social media sites like facebook. >> the only pandemic we have a of action. they're killing >> i think friday is spokesperson addressing some of the misinformation today. the full sadia the vaccines cause infertility, which is not true. and des proven time and time again. this is troubling. but a persistent narrative. the dis information is spreading as fast as the delta variant now affecting more younger americans as many

>> welcome back. 8.14 here on this saturday morning. and wildfires are burning in certain parts of the state more than 8,000 acres have been burned by the dixie fire in butte county. crews say they're having a hard time

containing the flames because of the steep terrain that fire is near the burn scar of the deadly camp fire in paradise. it is 9% contained this morning. >> meanwhile, strong winds continue to hamper efforts to contain the backcourt complex fire in northern california. this one near the nevada border. it's been it's burned. more than 105,000 acres and is 70% contained this morning. more than 30 homes have been destroyed in the small town of doyle as a result of this fire, though officials say it was a sparked by lightning strike. and the river fire is burning in mariposa not far from yosemite national park. cal fire says. >> the flames have burned more than 9600 acres. the river fire now 64% contained. we really, really would like to get e. ittle bit of rain h i know that there's some thunderstorms in the forecast for this weekend. doesn't really. it doesn't really seem

like that's going to actually produce any rain, right, dave. know we make it a stray shower here or there. but you're lucky if you got that in remember with this drier air. it's robbing us from what would be. in other words, if you get a nice little shower. it would have been a better rain had it not been. >> those kind of conditions. all walk to the humidity levels in just a bit. live shot coming in from u c berkeley. here's the improvement. the shrubbery showing up in the foreground behind all of it. well, the fog just start to lift off as you can make notice some of the blue skies piercing on through as it will be another pleasant. but summertime day across the bay today, golden gate bridge still working on it here we have pretty much of a lot of fog that's still intruding temperature check. we have the 50's and 60's mixture lot of east bay locations already popping into the 60's 59 right now in hayward, a fremont at 56, by the way, futurecast for for today. we take care of the morning fog afternoon thunder shower activity not very dynamic. it doesn't look like for today. that is tomorrow gets more interesting. here is the morning fog already the bubbling up of some of that moisture. we spoke of and here

comes up to our neck of the woods. can't rule out a stray shower juror household. but what we're really worried about is the lightning a lot going through some fairly dry air and it won't have much the way of rain working with it, at least not at the surface. and when you have that evaporation, remember the other factor that comes into place. some winds to get some afternoon winds with that, too. if there's a thunder shower around hills around you. you get probably the outflow from all of that activity. and by the way, we may be repeating some of this into next weekend as a potential. so let's look at the moisture levels. they drop off today. this is somewhat typical into the 20's. although today not much is happening here comes the morning fog. yep, that mixes out to boom. this is when the action should be happening in fairly dry air. that's in place picking up to the east bay into the 20% relative humidity. so get you everywhere thunder shower like in florida or something. but in florida there's a lot of moisture. so that rain gets the ground here gets evaporated. that's an energy exchange. that's cold air that cold air falls. there's your winds lightning from all that

action upstairs. there you have a dry lightning. so we're missing some elements in a good thunder shower with this. we could use the rain is noel was saying. but unfortunately this will come with the ride turning mostly sunny and mild 70's for the bay 80's 90's inland got some lower 90's going on sunday afternoon through monday. got a fire weather. watch. this is mostly for the hills of the bay area, not as much of the lower level areas, although solano counties, all included in that dry lightning is a possibility next week, sunny and mild. we're going to be working on near 80 degree temperatures warm inland, though, with some upper 80's as you get more inland, which again is not too bad. it's pretty close. the season by next weekend, though it gets interesting again. 66 san francisco 73 for oakland 81 san jose in the inland areas today will do the 90's, which is a lot better than triple digits up in the north bay may only be the upper 80's to 4 zone coming up and also take a look at that extended. well. >> thanks, dave. taking a live look now tokyo. just 6 days

before the opening ceremonies and the first president of the olympic village at the tokyo summer games has tested positive for covid-19 officials are not naming the person, but they say they're not an athlete. the person traveled to japan from overseas. they have been placed on a 14 day quarantine. now the olympic village on tokyo bay is set to house about 11,000 athletes during the olympics. thousands of other staff as well. so far, 44 people affiliated with the games have tested positive for covid-19 since the committee began tracking infections earlier this month. now back here at home to us. senators have introduced a bill to ensure equal pay for americans to represent the country in global athletic competitions. our washington correspondent reshad hudson has more. >> as american athletes gather on the world stage in tokyo. equal pay should be the the rule of the day when it comes

to our olympic athletes. and when it comes to our american athletes competing under under the or the united states of america. republican senator shelley moore. capito says she is the co-sponsor of a bill that would level the playing field. the bill requires male and female athletes on the u.s. national teams to receive equal pay if they're professionals as well as equal medical care and expense reimbursement. if they'ri amateurs i as a woman who was very interested in myself, but also interested in able pay. don't think it's fair that our american male athletes are paid more than our american female athletes, the issue of equal pay for women. athletes gain momentum in headlines after the u.s. women's national soccer team won the 2019 world cup. 20 players filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the u.s. soccer federation seeking the same pay and benefits as the u.s. men seen. >> it's just great to see. >> folks like that women on

forecast. talk a little bit more about mask mandates later on. i know dave has still been wearing his mask and grocery stores. i started wearing mine again just yesterday. >> my gym. i'm thinking that this is going to be a thing. we'll start seeing all day. >> probably it's with to stay for a little while. yeah. good well, good morning, everybody. and the morning fog still kind of hanging around the bay a little bit here. we'll mix out as we go to a mostly sunny mode. so today kind of business as usual. but we're really concerned about is this dry lightning business that will kick in tomorrow into monday a little bit as well get thunder shower, but it's going into dry air. that's in our backyard. that's what the big concern is for right now. there's the fog as it stands of the east bay shoreline was starting to see some of that land as the fog starts to mix out to sfo no delays this morning. so that's good news as well. a quick check of the winds. the typical on shore a little bit. but it's system minor breeze here around the delta is what we see anything substantive 50's and 60's mixture for right now as we

start warming up. but there's we're looking out for tomorrow afternoon through monday afternoon possible thunder showers with gusty winds to see get something happening in the mountains of the hills that dry lightning and thunder shower, whatever the energy exchange still happens and you get some cold air, the kind of blows out from all of that and you'll see that start to collect in the valleys. a bit 82 by high noon by 3. we're talking 91. we'll have a look at your 4 zone forecast coming up in just a bit along with that extended to the well. >> thanks, dave. with new covid cases and hospitalizations being made up of almost entirely unvaccinated individuals. you see school system is now requiring everyone who plans on returning to campuses in the fall to get themselves fully vaccinated. but that's not the case for the cal state system kron four's haaziq madyun takes a look at the policies that are varying from campus to campus. >> covid-19 vaccine requirements. are not uniform across the various colleges and universities in the state

of california. while all sees schools are mandating that students and staff are vaccinated this fall. the 23 public universities in the 500,000 students that make up the california state university system are taking a different approach as indicated by this statement from the president of s of state which reads in part, quote, in compliance with the csu policy as of state plans to require vaccines of all students and employees returning to face to face instruction what's the vaccines received full fda approval in the meantime, we are following cal osha and public health guidance to continue to keep our campus and community safe. unquote. similarly officials at san jose state university say they strongly recommend the campus community gets the vaccine before the start of the fall, 2021 semester. but they too are waiting for guidance from csu regarding vaccination requirements for students and staff. some bay area community

colleges like napa valley college will not require vaccinations this fall, but they do encourage students and staff to get their shots. however, like the university of california, some bay area private colleges and universities are not waiting for the fda's full approval of the vaccine to issue a mandate. this fall students and staff are required to be fully vaccinated for covid-19 at stanford santa clara university in saint mary's college with some allowances for exemptions for documented medical and religious reasons. has it made you kron. 4 news. >> this morning. the cdc is warning people with compromised immune systems that the covid-19 vaccines may not be effective for them. the cdc posted a message on its website saying people who are immunocompromised should be counseled about the potential for reduced immune responses to covid-19 vaccines and to follow current prevention measures to protect themselves covid-19 until advised

otherwise by their health care provider those prevention measures, of course, include wearing a mask social distancing and avoiding crowds. now, according to the washington post, the cdc advisory panel is meeting next week to discuss giving a 3rd dose of the vaccine to those with compromised immune systems. federal officials say they've killed the san francisco coyote that was reported to have charged at toddlers on 5 different occasions that was happening in the city's botanical garden inside golden gate park federal authorities from the u.s. department of agriculture were called in after local officials expressed concern over this coyote now san francisco's animal care and control is blaming people who had been feeding the coyote giving it things like raw meat. they say that's what caused it to lose its natural fear of humans. >> once a coyote or any other wild animal loses their

weather watch because of some dry lightning in to get some gusty winds too concentrating on the heavier of the higher elevations rather except solano county just about the whole counties and all that. that's due to the fact that that's the higher elevations. it might be the incubator to see this kickoff. in other words, all the air gets forced up. and as it gets for steps all this vertical stuff as it gets forced because the higher elevations. it starts to condense out and what a stretch to do its energy exchange and so forth. that's when you start to get the rubbing together to produce the lightning and the rain is supposed to come down. well, sometimes will evaporate before it gets here. now here's what as we go forward. this is tomorrow. now here's the cloud cover we're talking about. you don't see much green on there doesn't mean it's not happening aloft. it just means we don't expect much hitting the ground and not very impressive off to the sierra either. so this is about 06:00pm on sunday it's still right over our heads. at that point in lingering on into the overnight here as a formality. they're keeping it in place until monday morning as because you get some more daylight out and that tends to

run the atmosphere. when you get the sunshine out that's in the atmosphere gets to be more excited, if you will. so tomorrow's the big day. we're kind of watching for things into monday. then it's the general flow pattern northwesterly kind of the fuel. not much happens and then we do something similar again into next weekend's we want to be watching the south to see what how this comes together. if this will be problematic as well or if we get lucky and brings a little bit more surface, rain our way looks like the mountains get something out of this, though. 4 zone forecast check into your saturday. 66 san francisco lower 60's cover the coast pacific at 6160 at half moon bay. meanwhile, the bayside 70's for the most part, even down south. a couple lower 80's, though redwood city 82 palo out to about 80 and we do the same in the south bay to although poking up to the upper 80's for morgan hill got as well. 82 for cupertino upper 70's along the east bay shoreline here. the 90's off to the east bay tri valley, lower. 90's looking at 91 walnut creek 93

>> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron 4 morning news at known. >> good morning to you. thanks for joining us here on the kron 00:00am morning news. i'm noelle bellow. it is 09:00am on this saturday. july 17th. we've got a lot to get to this mormon morning. but we want to start you off by getting a check of your forecast. dave spahr says today's going to be great tomorrow is when we might see some thunderstorms sunday. >> yeah, it could be tomorrow. and into monday as well on the lookout for that. good morning. to all. good morning, everybody. for conditions are lots of sunshine in the typical 90's going on. well, inland pick in the east bay and elsewhere will be in the upper 80's department. so it's a little bit of a the same kind of pattern that we've had not the same as last weekend. those or not going to have those record highs are high. temperatures locked the highs. here's a look at some of the blue off towards the distance. we're starting to see that fog mix out. even the golden gate bridge opening up nicely. so that's all nice temperature check. we're in the 60's over most of the geography upper

60's off to the delta and the east asia will notice. but here's the concern for tomorrow into monday possible dry lightning or dry thunder showers mosi for us will be in the higher elevations. but some of the outflow can drift into the valleys too. you might get a stray shower. that's all nice and everything. dirty up the car and such. but we would get more if it wasn't so dry. that's our problem. 86 at 1 o'clock at forward. one some lower 90's to, of course, we'll have your 4 zone forecast and checking the extended because next weekend we might be doing the summer kind of program. >> we have to realize that this idea that somehow we're vaccinated and we're done with the pandemic is not right. we have to do is realize that we have to combine vaccines with the other precautionary measures. >> to our top story now with the uptick in positive coronavirus cases in california. doctors are saying even if you're fully vaccinated, it is now wise to

once again mask up indoors. this all comes as more and more counties across the state are already encouraging masks. la county, even mandating them. we'll get to that in just a moment. but here's a look at where we are right now across the state as of friday. the california department of public health has reported more than 4600 new cases. 65 new deaths and a 3.7% test positivity rate. that number has nearly tripled from the start of july when the rate was just 1.4% now as we start to see this uptick in cases bay area. health departments are saying it is a good idea to mask up indoors. if you live in any of these counties listed here. you're being asked to wear a mask when you're inside in a public setting. again, that's just a recommendation here in the bay area as health officials are reporting the delta variant is highly transmissible people we talked to an alameda county say it's probably wise to go back to that indoor masking.

>> i don't mind keeping my mask on inside. i i do it automatically even though i'm double vaccinated for a long time for a few months. i think a lot >> ability to go into businesses and restaurants without masks. is great everybody is vaccinated, but especially for kids and people can't get vaccinated. they're so big rest. >> i just started wearing my mask earlier this week. again, health officials are recommending people wear masks indoors in settings like grocery stores, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, solano and napa counties are the only bay area counties that have not changed their mask recommendations. on our facebook page. we do have a poll we've asked you about the new indoor masking guidelines recommendations. we asked people if they wear a mask indoors. now, 72% of people say they will. 28 1% say they will not in the meantime, it's the same conversation over in las vegas. health officials there are now advising everyone vaccinated or not to wear face

coverings and crowds and indoor places. it's not a requirement just like here in the bay area. but the recommendation does include casinos, concerts and clubs business has been booming there since restrictions were lifted. 7 weeks ago. a union representing 60,000 casino workers say their members are at risk by on vaccinated patrons 97% of nevada's recent hospitalizations are people who have not been vaccinated. and it's a reason that happening tonight, a new mask mandate will take effect in los angeles county because of the alarming surge of covid-19 cases. there. county health officials have reported nearly 2000 new cases and more than 450 people are currently hospitalized there with covid-19. that's more than double the number from last month. the surge has led to the white house issuing a new warning. allison harris reports. >> this is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated. the cdc

director putting it plainly more than 97% of people hospitalized with covid right now. are not vaccinated. i'm still undergoing a lot of the facts, charlie in missouri was among i thought had covid. it's just form pneumonia, but it wasn't going to be that bad. well, i was wrong. from the icu. he started taking it seriously. covid is real. the president today placing some of the blame for people not getting vaccinated on the lies being spread on social media sites like facebook. >> the only pandemic we have a of action. they're killing >> i think friday is spokesperson addressing some of the misinformation today. the full sadia the vaccines cause infertility, which is not true. and des proven time and time again. this is troubling. but a persistent narrative. the dis information is spreading as fast as the

>> 9.14 here on this saturday morning. and wildfires are burning in certain parts of the state more than 8,000 acres have been burned by the dixie fire in butte county. crews say they're having hard time containing the flames on this one because of the steep terrain. the fire is near the burn scar of the deadly camp fire in paradise. it is 9% contained as of this morning. meanwhile, strong winds continue to hamper efforts to

contain the backcourt complex fire in northern california. >> this one is near the nevada border and has burned more than 105,000 acres. it is sitting at 70% containment this morning. more than 30 homes have been destroyed in the small town of doyle as a result of this one. officials say the fire was sparked from a lightning strike. >> and the river fire is burning in mariposa not far from yosemite national park. cal fire says the flames have burned more than 9600 acres. the river fire now 64% contained. here to give us a better check of our forecast throughout the weekend. things are going to be pretty ok today. but we do know we might have some thunderstorms tomorrow dave spahr has got a closer look. hey, dave. >> hey, noel, good morning. and good morning, everybody. and that's the other big issue or just kind of a mixed into a situation where the lack of mixing of our air mass is what can propose that problem. we're looking out for pictures. look pretty good at the start. the day, though,

there's a blue skies already building in the east bay shoreline. we can get make it out along the east bay shoreline. all the communities there. so we're opening up the fog situation looks pretty good, too. at the golden gate bridge as we're being graced with blue skies to do some leftover fog off towards the background temperature. check mostly in the 60's. still some 50's hanging on to the coast. 57 san francisco, 72 already for any getting that warming happening now. what happens for today. we max out what's leftover fog. few clouds develop up there in the mountains a little bit this afternoon and whatever tomoerow morning. again, the fog returns. but bubbling up from the southeast. that's what's problematic and you can see this from a kind of a horizontal thing. but think of it more vertically at the surface. very dry mid levels. that's where all the moisture is and what happens is we get the daytime heating a little bit added to this. even you can't see it, it develops clouds. it gets into a thunder shower activity that rainfalls with drier between and there you have your problem where we

get dry lightning off to the mountains might see some of this rain get to the ground. let's go and check it out in terms of the moisture levels. they drop off. typically this afternoon. shore comes back again overnight. but with a thunder shower happening and you got dew points like wrote sorry. relative humidities like that. that's dry air that that rain has to go through. so with that, that's why we have the dry lightning in the fire weather. watch. that's been posed tomorrow into monday for today, though, turning mostly sunny. we're almost there mild with 70's for the bay, 80's and 90's going on. well, inland for next week relatively uneventful. once we get past monday. it's pretty much of a mostly sunny trend could have some upper 80's going on along the inland communities. but along the bay side will probably be ok for today. we're talking 66 san francisco 73 for oakland 81 san jose across the wider geography. there are some of your 90's in the far east bay 80's. meanwhile, up to the north bay. now coming up a little bit. we'll check into that 4 zone forecast to check things out. look at the extended in may be potentially some problems into next weekend.

well. >> thanks. day. we're taking a live look now over tokyo 6 days before the opening ceremony and the first president of the olympic village of the tokyo summer games has tested positive for covid-19. officials are not naming the person, but they say they are not an athlete. the person traveled to japan from overseas, though, and they've been placed on a 14 day quarantine. the olympic village on tokyo bay will house about 11,000 athletes during the olympics and thousands of other staff so far, 44 people affiliated with the games have tested positive for coronavirus since the committee began tracking infections earlier this month. back here at home to us. senators have introduced a bill to ensure equal pay for americans who represent the country in global athletic competitions our washington correspondent reshad hudson has more. >> as american athletes gather on the world stage in tokyo.

equal pay should be the the rule of the day when it comes to our olympic athletes. and when it comes to our american athletes competing under under the or the united states of america. republican senator shelley moore. capito says she is the co-sponsor of a bill that would level the playing field. the bill requires male and female athletes on the u.s. national teams to receive equal pay if they're professionals as well as equal medical care and expense reimbursement. if they're amateurs i as a woman who was very interested in myself, but also interested in able pay. don't think it's fair that our american male athletes are paid more than our american female athletes, the issue of equal pay for women. athletes gain momentum in headlines after the u.s. women's national soccer team won the 2019 world cup. 20 players filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the u.s. soccer federation seeking the same pay and benefits as the u.s. men seen. >> it's just great to see.

>> however, it's tomorrow in monday that things kind of get interesting as we have the swath of monsoon moisture that may threaten that possibility. here's a look at what it looks like from the east bay shoreline of blue skies already. as you can see, a little bit of fog kind of left over at the horizon. sfo good news. no delays happening this morning 60's over most of the real estate 72, excuse me at this hour in antioch 57 san francisco 55 for half moon bay back to that map about the fire weather watch. that's because of the lightning notice how it's the higher elevations almost mirroring that red flag warning tend to get all this. that's because the higher elevations are kind of the incubators to build the thunder shower activity. so even if you don't get anything, that's just where they develop. and then you might get some of the outflow boundaries happening in some of the lower elevations to breaking today down for you. 86 by 1 o'clock, by for about 91 or so could have a look at more about this coming up in just a bit. and also your 4 zone forecast in the extended.

well. >> thanks, dave. with new covid cases and hospitalizations being made up almost entirely of unvaccinated individuals. you see school system is now requiring everyone who plans returning to campuses in the fall to get fully vaccinated. but that's not the case for the cal state system. kron four's. mid june is taking a look at the different policies as they vary from campus to campus. >> covid-19 vaccine requirements are not uniform across the various colleges and universities in the state of california. while all sees schools are mandating that students and staff are vaccinated this fall. the 23 public universities of the 500,000 students that make up the california state university system are taking a different approach as indicated by this statement from the president of s of state which reads in part, quote, in compliance with the csu policy as of state plans to require vaccines of all students and employees

returning to face to face instruction what's the vaccines received full fda approval in the meantime, we are following cal osha and public health guidance to continue to keep our campus and community safe. unquote. similarly officials at san jose state university say they strongly recommend the campus community gets the vaccine before the start of the fall. 2021 semester. but they too are waiting for guidance from csu regarding vaccination requirements for students and staff. some bay area community colleges like napa valley college will not require vaccinations this fall, but they do encourage students and staff to get their shots. however, like the university of california, some bay area private colleges and universities are not waiting for the fda's full approval of the vaccine to issue a mandate this fall students and staff are required to be fully vaccinated for covid-19 at stanford santa clara

university in saint mary's college with some allowances for exemptions for documented medical and religious reasons. madyun kron 4 news. >> this morning. the cdc is warning people with compromised immune systems that the covid-19 vaccines may not be effective for them. the cdc posted a message on its website saying people who are immunocompromised should be counseled about the potential for reduced immune responses to covid-19 vaccines and to follow current prevention measures to protect themselves against covid-19 until advised otherwise by their health care provider. now, those prevention measures that there pushing include wearing masks, social distancing and avoiding crowds. according to the washington post, the cdc advisory panel is meeting next week to discuss giving a 3rd dose of the vaccine to those with compromised immune systems. a small ucsf study. meanwhile, reveals mothers who received moderna or pfizer's

covid-19 vaccines. well, not pass the vaccine through their milk. 7 women participated in the research between december of last year and now 5 of the women received the pfizer vaccine. the other 2 have moderna scientists collected their milk both before and after they received their shots and they found no traces of the vaccine in their milk. researchers say while preliminary this could prove the vaccine would not be transferred to an infant by its mother. the world health organization is recommending that all mothers who are breastfeeding get themselves vaccinated. a coyote in san francisco blamed for the aggressive behavior towards people has been caught and killed witnesses reported the animal charging toward toddlers on at least 5 different occasions near san francisco's botanical garden in golden gate park kron four's amanda hari explains. what's being done now to prevent this from happening again.

>> i'm told the coyote has been around the city since at least 2016, it's become very comfortable in the city and even has started to become fed extensively by humans. and has been. >> the sensitized to people. >> that's one. that's why his behavior changed. >> executive director of san francisco's animal care and control virginia donahue believes it was people that led to this coyote being killed. the photo on your screen is just some of the raw meat people left out to feed once a coyote or any other wild animal loses their natural wariness of people. >> their behavior changes and that can take many different forms. the feeding and people approaching him left the coyote familiar with humid. it's coyote is a wild animal, animals or never friendly.

oakland's chinatown course. they should be about. and i know that they both got take a look at this video to asian women walking in the 200 block of 9th street attacked just before one on friday afternoon, the 3 suspects charged at the 2 women who attempt to run away. but get pinned down their bags stolen we are going i you know, the condition. >> and try to see what we can help with the victims and the karl chan, the president of the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce as one of the women is in her 80's the other in her 50's. they were just steps away from the spot where a man was robbed less than 24 hours before this is video of that attack. 2 men. didn't hurt by 2 suspects. >> chan isn't sure both incidents include the same suspects oakland police are investigating is so upset when we're staying. >> you know, mostly all seniors folks being attacked.

they up to date in oakland. michelle kingston, kron 4 news. >> another big story out of the east bay. a teenager has been arrested on suspicion of killing his mother and injuring his father. police responded to a home in fremont early friday morning near the area of paseo padre parkway and fremont boulevard. that's where they found 2 stabbing victims. the suspects parents kron four's. gayle ong has details. >> it is truly a very sad and tragic offickrs responded to a home on sylvester drive off the sale padre just after 1230 friday morning. there. they found a woman in the man with stab wounds. the woman pronounced dead at the scene. the man taken to the hospital where he is recovering investigators learned the suspect was the victim's son within 30 minutes of searching the area. a resident in the neighborhood reported seeing the suspect covered in blood a mile away from the home. and that's when officers detained the boy. the juvenile was taken into custody without incident. detectives have been

notify any are taking over the there are still a lot of unanswered questions. what exactly happened, the home some of those questions detectives are trying to figure out why this occurred and what led to the injuries, the boy's name is not being released because he is a juvenile. one of the things we are asking. it is for respect for this neighborhood, for the people involved in this case. i do. we want to reach out to our community and say. >> if anybody here out there has any information about this case. please contact our investigations section. >> the names of the victims are not being released. police are working to notify family here in fremont. gayle ong kron 4 news. >> it kind of seasonable temperatures going on for today. as we look at the 90's in the far east bay and 80's. meanwhile, up north. but tomorrow into monday. getting kind of close to that dry lightning. look at your forecast is next.

>> 9.44 on this saturday morning. and we're digging a little deeper now into the growing concern over thunderstorms forecasted for this weekend. those storms could bring dry lightning and not much rain with them, which increases the potential for sparking wildfires. now, some of the largest and most destructive fires in our state's history were started by lightning mainly several from last summer. erick rucker has more from vacaville.

>> shortly after the lnu complex fire burned down the home on this vacaville property last august. the owner here says he bought this fire truck a symbolic gesture of the lightning-caused fire that took so much from him. other victims around these parts are still rebuilding this weekend. the threat of lightning is expected to return specifically dry lightning dry lightning there sporadic a hidden areas they're oftentimes overnight. the national weather service has issued a fire weather watch because of anticipated thunderstorms sunday into monday the potential for thunderstorms little to no rainfall. while the national weather service has placed a large portion of northern california under a fire watch meteorologist at the higher elevations have a greater likelihood of seeing the storms since april. we've been talking about the conditions that were already facing and the sacramento region. >> if lightning does cause a

fire sunday or monday firefighters like chris vestal with metro fire say the fight will be like if it were happening 6 weeks into the future. a week. rain and snow season has pushed up what can dry out by about a month and a half. >> now july. we're looking like late august even september. that's when we used to get our fastest growing fires are most critical fire behavior even dangerous conditions. >> dave sphar is here with a little bit more detail on when exactly those thunderstorms are expected to get here tomorrow afternoon, right. dave. >> yeah, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get a thunder shower at your house, means that the risk for the air mass overhead. the time period is tomorrow afternoon basically through monday morning as the period we're looking at here. here's the east bay shoreline as things start to open up. we're getting some blue skies in place there that feels kind of good and today is going to be kind of the typical type the day we're going to see not like last weekend how hot it was. but that fire weather it's the higher elevations, if

you will notice because they tend to be the incubators to build these thunderstorms. now when you have a lot of moisture at all levels. that's not so much of a problem. and just be a wee since we'll see some scattered thundershowers, but it's going through a layer of dry surface. air and that poses a problem. also those gusty winds as an outflow from thunder showers that were built to get everything with the physics that come with a thunder shower. unfortunately, because you're dried the surface just may not get the rain. so here's what happens tomorrow. the buildup of mid-level moisture in place. we'll see some fun of thunder showers. also going on. it looks like in the sierra a little bit and this would probably clear by at least tomorrow afternoon. so it'll be kind of in place for a little while. and even if you don't see clouds overhead, those hills could help build it for us. so look upstream. what it looks like there again is tomorrow and monday's activity. we take a break for a few days throughout the week and then another blossom of some of this monsoon moisture from the 4 corner states, the pattern to look out for. it a looks for the next couple of months. to 66 san francisco to

the coast will do the lower 60's bayside into the 70's. it looks like down south 73 for burning game scratching some lower 80's palo alto. 8082 for redwood city and the south bay 81 san jose santa clara 82 also cupertino east bay shoreline to the south, upper 70's. tri valleys looking at lower 90's with 91 walnut creek concord at 9368 for berkeley richmond at 70 66 filet o 89 fairfield and 81 going on for napa and sonoma at 86 along with santa rosa and more 80's down south in the seven-day forecast. once we get past all of this is pretty much of an 80 story until next weekend. again as all showing another blossoming up in this type of thing, too. meanwhile, the east bay shoreline will fall into the upper 60's potentially in some cool 60's at the coast. no thanks, dave. developing news this morning. new details. >> about what led to the arrest of 2 bay area. men accused of planning an attack
