dave spahr. dave. it was an absolutely gorgeous day yesterday is a copy paste. it looks pretty much that way. good morning, guys. good morning, everybody. and we're starting things off with a little bit of golden gate bridge fog. but beyond that, mostly clear skies allowing those temperatures to fall in those inland valleys already that dry air is checking in that as part of the forecast in the next about 48 hours. we're talking about. >> here's the east bay shoreline. you can get a load of the sun just about to join us right now. but here it is, the golden gate with the fog from this is kind of a picture kind of a lot to give you an idea we can pull this earlier, but anyways give you an idea of just some of the fog. it's their lower 50's light up the east bay shoreline a little bit inland, too. but mostly it's the 40's game to keep up to the north bay santa rosa checking in at a 40 this morning we're getting almost like winter time temperatures here now the big issue is this. we're talking about a fire weather. watch that's been upgraded now to a red flag warning. it is the east bay hills and points east solano county and also the santa cruz mountains and some of the higher elevations up in the north bay. as you can see, coupled with that. a wind

street contra, costa county officials evacuated the neighborhood while negotiators tried to get web to surrender. investigators say he stabbed brandi hornsby, the mother of his 6 week-old daughter on monday. and then kidnapped the baby triggering an amber alert. authorities say webb dropped the baby off at a family friend's home. the baby was unharmed. a web faces charges for murder and attempted murder. also in the east bay hayward police are investigating 2 men for a shooting that injured 3 people. police say it happened at around 2.30 on saturday morning on b street and main and that's located near city hall. >> the shooting did shut down the street for a short period of time. police officers say the victims are in stable condition this morning. but the extent of their injuries still not being released to the public safe. >> for some offshore winds to develop as we head into the new that will mean a fire danger going up ahead, we'll give you an idea of what that

and why they're doing this here is the red flag warning. you can see the coverage areas basically the higher elevations, but it covers all that geography off to the east bay as well. and you'll see when we show you the winds, why that's the case solano counties. basically all of that and more the higher elevations up in the north bay and the santa cruz mountains. the tan color around all of that. that's the wind advisory. now when we have a map like this take away the red when we have a wind advisory that covers everybody usually a winter storm dropping south. but this go-around, it's more of an offshore wind. so it's not as typical for us. here's the east bay getting lit up a little bit. a little bit of fog off towards the distance. here's the golden gate bridge a little bit close up close and personal as we break through some of that fog temperature. check. notice how cool is up in the north bay tick up in the valleys there. 40 santa rosa. well, that's the cold air drainage fact we have dry air, not much movement yet. so therefore temperatures are able to fall to radiational cooling overnight. lot of 50's for much of the east bay 45 half moon bay. 53 san francisco for

today. that afternoon breeze checking in stress to pick up, though upstream, as you can see, this is 6.15 already dropping south. here we go. wash. overnight tomorrow morning. this is approaching high noon. look at those arrows due north to south from the north and there you can see the coverage area. why the red flag warning is the way it is even cover the east bay shoreline here, too. so we don't have a nice, good on shore when something else is interfering. and so it picks up at around noon like that. it will still be were around for a while as late as tuesday morning. however, the big driver of all of this will be the dry air. look how quickly it dries out even for today. as you can see this afternoon into the 20% range off to the far east bay a little bit of recovery tomorrow morning. that's it. there's no green on here. harvey can make out at all. and then as we get into monday afternoon dropping into the teens and there's no surprise why they made the issue statement as they did when you have relative humidity levels like that. okay. so breaking it all down for you. it's mostly sunny mild today 70's for the bay

80's happening inland. there. then the red flag warning we talked about. it's the east bay hills points, east. also the north bay hills and the santa cruz mountains in this. and then for the next week, it's mostly sunny and mild for the week ahead. and a system midweek temperatures fall. again, we talked about this before, does look like we'll get any rain out of that. maybe by the next weekend, something upstream from a bear. some watching 69 san francisco 72 for oakland, 75 for san jose. the far east bay. we might tap off at around 80 or so in some spots. but we'll take a closer look at that in your 4 zone forecast will. >> day. there's a new breed of mosquitoes that's making southern california, their home experts say, and they're not going anywhere. yet. this they only need a few drops of water to breed and their eggs can survive for up to a year. kimberly chang learned what scientists are doing to try to get rid of them. >> i guess so many other my legs and you can even like aside and not help to where

winds basically on shore. that's the good guy. but then it flips over. look at the arrows by tomorrow due south is where they're coming up from the due north direction. so very dry. it's going to be up here to the north bay east bay as well. basically the east bay hills and points towards the east. look at the humidity levels, they really plummet even this afternoon recovery. that's tomorrow morning. that's the best we can muster ever and then just drop south throughout the day on monday will be banking off of a dry atmosphere a little bit and later on on tuesday, watching systems coming in from the pacific. only thing it's kind of interesting as we get into next end of next weekend. and the following week. boy, that looks inviting. hopefully we'll get a piece of that 4 zone forecast checking things out for your sunday 69 san francisco into the lower 60's at the coast bayside mostly the lower 70's down south. we have 76 for redwood city. looks like 73 for palo alto. 73 santa clara 75 san jose

cupertino, 75 lower 70's along the east bay shoreline near 80 for tri valley. looks like 81. 1 on walnut creek at 80 for conquered 68 for berkeley. 67 vallejo. 79 fairfield. now the 7579 santa rosa, one other system make note by the middle of the week. that's going to knock us back down again. some scattered clouds technically little chance of a shower. we're covering to the 80's by next weekend. but it's after that. hopefully maybe we'll get some rain showers here. >> for your help this morning. the health of your gut has been a topic of increasing research and discussion lately. more people are aware of their gut microbiomes than ever before. but what does it all actually mean. our health expert karen, a walk is here to explain why your gut health affects your overall health care. and when we were talking a couple of months ago i was telling gut health is something i really didn't hear that term until maybe 5 years ago.

types of bacteria so you have all all of this going on in your gut and it's real important to keep the bacteria and balance. you have the bad bacteria and the good bacteria and then there's 3 primary functions. the gut microbiomes. right. so so what number one is that it helps keep you healthy it. it helps protect you against infections because the immune system and a lot of people don't realize is that 70% of your immune system comes from you got. and that's because 70% of the immune cells are housed in the got law. so taking care of your guy is is essential for having a strong immune system. it nourishes your body. like you said, with with nutrients vitamins, energy too. right in to keep said the barrier that

the gastrointestinal barrier strong because you don't want it to be too permeable or than toxins and bacteria is going to start circulating into your body. so have to have that nice balance. so like you said, it's definitely important for your immune system. what are kind of the signs that maybe your gut is not as healthy. well stomach issues for one and done so if you're having a lot constipation diarrhea am gas bloating that could be a sign that your gut bacteria is out of balance. what what type of diet kind of contributes to an unhealthy got. so we're going to go through that whole. all of that next week. so because it's it's yeah. it's such a good topic. for me one of those things that i started to incorporate in my diet is like a probiotic drink. is that something that's that helps this.

>> a scare at new york's laguardia airport as an american airlines the planes on the tarmac because of reports of suspicious and erratic behavior by a passenger. one passenger on the plane says once the plane landed pilots and flight attendants. they started screaming for everyone to get off the plane. maggie hickey has more from new york. >> this video was shot by passenger cuccia of the unruly passenger who is still being detained by port authority police tonight at laguardia airport. the passenger was one of 76 aboard american airlines eagle flight 4817 from indianapolis, which landed at laguardia just after 03:00pm, according to port authority police, several passengers

said there was suspicious and erratic behavior by this one passenger people got concerned, according to police that he was seen reaching into his bag. and that's when the pilot made a decision to make an emergency landing deploying the emergency chutes for all to evacuate the plane. the plane landed safely and there were no injuries. several of the passengers were also questioned by port authority police and you can see a large intense emergency response on the tarmac of the airport as as taken into custody.

>> welcome back to kron 4 morning news. good morning, everybody. and we're talking winds. the offshore wind variety. there you see the red for the red flag warning and everybody is in the wind advisory. so the coverage area covers the entire bay with those winds going on will be dry. here's the future cast winds. a little bit of an on shore breeze today gets more aggressive up to the north bay. and there's the coverage area overnight tomorrow of those offshore winds pick up in the north bay and a lot of the east bay as well. east bay hills and points off towards the east will be banking off of a dry atmosphere all the way through tuesday we've frozen this for sunday afternoon and then tomorrow morning we don't have much of recovery that humidity or the moisture coming in them. the

marine layer. so we start things off or going to a very dry afternoon for your monday forecast today. 69 san francisco open 70 to 75 san jose. we'll see some areas reached about the lower 80's. still possible. a lot of 70's up in the north bay. we'll put this together for your 4 zone forecast. coming up in just a bit. well. >> touted as the pumpkin capital of the world. half moon, bay produces more than 3,000 tons of pumpkins every year. so it does a thing or 2 about getting into the spirit of the fall season. but the charming coastal location is also loaded with good things to enjoy year. round are travel enthusiast. dana redmond joining us now with a look at half moon bay really excited to get out there this fall. >> good morning. yeah. it has a fun twist on fall color, of course. but truthfully. >> if you like, being outside, if you like beautiful coastal views, you're gonna love it any time of year. so it's got a road trip show. you get that

first taste of what's in store for your weekend. truthfully, this is when you just exit the tom lantos tunnels on southbound highway one double slit. double double slide trail just a little bit more than a mile in length. it's a paved trail. it's good for anyone. walkers runners. bikers all ages, all abilities because look at what you get to and this is what used to be a dangerous stretch of roadway played by erosion and and land slides. now it's the only part of highway one that's off limits to cars. keep your eyes focused on the water depending on the time of year you might see whales sea lions a variety seabirds. there are plenty of overlooks and benches. you can stop and sit. take it all in along the way if you're done, you can turn around and head back your car and it's an ideal place to watch the sunset used. yeah, exactly. the news just coming and coming. so stretching your legs doesn't get much easier than this. truthfully. and if

you like what you see here, save some time. if you get on the water while you're in half moon bay. i think you appreciate it even more. this is pillar point harbor, half moon, bay kayak, company rents kayaks and paddleboards. so it's really easy to get out on the water yourself. some of the animals that might keep you company sea lions. seals, leopard, sharks, all sorts of things pop up. but it makes you appreciate that. the you even more, you know, keep your distance watch the animals safely. kind of enjoy the show. you can go out on your own or the folks at half moon bay kayak company can arrange a guided tour. the waters calm very protected in this area. so if you're maybe new to the sport or a little hesitant. it's a great place to kind of get a feel for things again as well. yeah. yeah, absolutely. and lots of good company along the way, saw the sea lion up

there. if if that's something that kind of excite you, you know, maybe meeting some of the area's wilder residents. there's a place to do that, too. it's hardly residents will >> this is of working goat dairy and they are some of the most outgoing goats that i think ever come not friendly. not too friendly great rate about the kind that's going make you laugh and smile. the whole time. you are there. truthfully, you can always drop by for a quick a low over the fence. there's goats in the fie d constantly but truthfully taking a tour is a really entertaining informative way to learn about what life is like on the farm. you'll get an introduction to some of the cheeses they make. and there's also lots of other animals on the farm llamas chickens bees. there's a docking in rosie. that is

now in custody after a 5 hour standoff in bay point san joaquin, sheriff's deputies tracked 24 year-old angelo web to a home near willow pass road and water street contra, costa county officials had to evacuate that neighborhood while negotiators tried to get web to surrender. investigators say webb stabbed brandi hornsby, the mother of his 6 week-old daughter on monday. and then kidnapped the baby which triggered an amber alert. authorities say a short time later, webb dropped the baby off at a family friend's home unharmed webb. did finally surrender. he faces charges for murder and attempted murder. >> also in the east bay hayward police. they are investigating 2 men for a shooting that injured 3 people. police say it happened at around 2.30 on saturday. morning on the street and main that's near city hall. the shooting did shut down the street for a short time as police offiters converged to the scene. police say the victims are in stable condition. but the extent of their injuries still not known at this time. in los angeles.

an armed suspect is dead after a violent hostage situation played out in downtown la on friday night. witnesses actually caught the entire situation with their cell phones. lapd says a suspect on a sidewalk gun to a man's face and actually pulled the trigger. but the gun didn't go off. that's when investigators say the suspect ran into a nearby business. >> that's where a family of 3 was waiting. police say the gunman started shooting at the family which injured a 14 year-old he took then tried to carjack a woman before fighting with a bike rider when they were called. police say the man took a woman hostage in a nearby apartment complex. and that's when swat was finally called end shortly after that, they arrived on the scene and. the suspect was shot as swat entered the building. rescuing the hostage taking her to a nearby hospital. a lot unfolding there in downtown la friday night. >> while conditions out there.

york's laguardia airport as an american airlines flight to planes on the tarmac because of reports of suspicious and erratic behavior by a passenger one passenger on the plane says once the plane landed pilots and flight attendants started screaming for everyone to get off of the plane. maggie hickey has more from new york. >> this video was shot by passenger cuccia of the unruly passenger who is still being detained by port authority police tonight at laguardia airport. the passenger was one of 76 aboard american airlines eagle flight 4817 from indianapolis, which landed at laguardia just after 03:00pm according to port authority police, several passengers said there was suspicious and erratic behavior by this one passenger people got concerned, according to police that he was seen reaching into his bag. and that's when the pilot made a decision to make

the room. don't do it. there's a study recently students taking exams. >> and the kids taking with their phones just based on their desk for says kids taking the same exam when their phones were in another room. kids with their phones. another room got underscores kids who just earned their my son's face down. so it's really important that your devices out of the room. stop using them to lease an hour before eliminate apps that you don't absolutely have exercise. go outside you with mulls. heard your family read a book haha so normal things to do. and i think the one thing you mentioned earlier, just interacting with other people. that's really like actual real time real life interaction. make sure that you're not you're going real life interactions that you can sit at home and scroll on your social media. >> yes, early because you know what, when we are connecred to others are in a deep way and when we talk each other and of
